This is a great place to go to when craving ramen and you don't want to cross the bridge. Toll is expensive these days and thankfully Staten Island has finally started to open amazing ramen places as such. This is definitely not the best ramen I've ever had but it definitely satisfies the cravings I have. The broth is alright, nothing too special to mention or praise. The char sui was way too lean, no fatty parts to it and dry. Noodles were cooked perfectly, what we were more amazed by was the quality of appetizers. Kani salad, huge portions and great fresh quality. Meat lover skewers; the meat was a bit small wish they gave bigger pieces but the sauce was also pretty good. read more

Came here for lunch with a huge group. We were the only group in the restaurant. The staff was very accommodating. The food was decent. Not the best ramen but not the worst. Sushi was fresh. Good flavor of the yakitori. The only complaint is that the food came out randomly. Like you would think all the yakitori would come out together and the sushi would be together but it just showed up randomly. It also seems like they forgot stuff and we had to ask a couple of times. The appetizer were good, we liked the sweet potato fries. Overall our family had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. read more

I loved the food! I got the edamame, tomato vegetable ramen and tea. The ramen came out very delicious and flavorful. I've tried other ramen spots and the main thing I'd be concerned about are the noodles but this spot had delicious noodles! The edamame was good as well! Service wise, our waiter was very helpful. She even filed my tea when it was running out! Lastly, ambiance was nice and everything was decorated inside. It wasn't some basic looking restaurant, it seemed like I was in a tropical or nature vibe. Overall, I love this spot especially I live very close. The ribeye yakitori was pretty good, tender and a good amount of sauce to pair it quite well. The chicken skin yakitori was very crispy and delicious, with just a tad too much sauce which made some pieces overly salty, but no biggie. The salmon tartar was just okay, with the yuzu sauce being very sour. I think if the amount of avocado being increased a bit, it would have helped equalize its sourness with the creaminess of the avocado. The three rolls lunch special is very fresh and had more ingredients than rice, just like the special dancing lobster roll which had so much lobster (as evident in the pictures)! The rock shrimp lunch bento was also just mediocre, potentially due to it being overly battered and pieces were combined together. Overall, we really loved the freshness and generosity of the fishes in their normal and special sushi rolls! The restaurant also looks very pretty with beautiful floral decorations and is incredibly spacious and clean. The staff were all very friendly and quick with their service, with pretty plates and utensils. What an amazing experience we had at Izakaya Nori Restaurant ! An amazing tranquil environment with a lot of natural light and beautiful ambiance filled with traditional Japanese cherry blossoms at the entrance and greenery decorations everywhere. The tables have very nice ornaments that truly give off the Japanese culture vibes. Now the food was incredible ! Started off with some edamame on the house ! (They serve it to us before we placed our order) We ordered the 3 roll special and I ordered the Tokyo Ice Tea. In the pictures you can see the drink looks refreshing and was actually very tasty. Please take notice of the presentation of the plates and why I want to give this place 6 stars! The Philadelphia, California, Boston, Salmon, Eel Avocado, and Shrimp rolls were all amazing! I appreciate the quality/freshness of the round eye (big eye) tuna, but more, the craftsmanship of the chef who prepares it. This is not the NYC standard Chinese own sushi bar that serves salmon, izumidai, Saku tuna, synthetic crabmeat, and eel at best. Though the sushi bar is inside the kitchen, it is among the top five best tasting sushi in Staten Island. The style/craftmanship/quality is very similar to the sushi bar adjacent to hibachi joint in Empire outlet in Staten Island. On my first visit, I ordered nigiri going down the sushi list. Each one was on point and was presented as a work of art, except the halibut (hirami). I am going to be picky here: its texture was off. I am not going to assume why since it was still good. No complaint. As for their sushi, 9 out of 10. I would definitely bring my family and friends here to enjoy the meal. And I did. read more

If i were to bring a Japanese person to this establishment, he or she will perform Seppuku right in the middle of the dining room. Ok, need to write a review to truly explain everything here.... This, is not Japanese food, nothing about it is remotely Japanese. It's someone that looked at what izakaya is on google and decided to reverse engineering it and pretend it's a Japanese izakaya. The food is not rotten nor bad quality to be fair to them, but all the sauces, preparations, cooking style are wrong, there were no charcoal flavor to the skewers and it was lukewarm when served, perhaps microwaved when we put in the order. They gave me tartar sauce for my fried chicken... I can't not believe this place exists, if it's anywhere but Staten Island, no one would ever come here after their first experience. I couldn't wait to get out of this place and will not be returning. The owners and chef really need to understand what Japanese food is before consider opening any sort of food establishment with anything remotely resembling Japanese cuisine. Located in a funny little triangular multi-ethnic strip mall not too far from the Verrazano, it used to be a good Chinese place before the pandemic closed it. Nope...... the ramen took more than 20 mins to be served which tells me that nothing was prepared fresh, meaning that ramen restaurants constantly have a rotation of broth on deck for service.
