Is it the best sushi in the area? No but for takeout sushi and the price it's pretty good. I preferred the smaller classic rolls over the larger specialty rolls as their rice wasn't very good and the smaller rolls had a better ratio of rice to filling. The chicken karage was yummy with super big chicken pieces. Would definitely come back if I had a craving for sushi but didn't want to break the bank. They can get busy around dinner time so keep that in mind.

This is the one. Nori Roll is the take-out Sushi restaurant I compare all the others too. I judge a sushi restaurant on only two criteria: (1) How fresh and delicious is your sashimi?(Consistently--week after week), and (2): how much do I get for my money? By these two criteria, Nori Roll may be the best Sushi in the East Bay, maybe the whole Bay Area. Updated Oct 2025: This week almost my whole order came packaged in waxed paper cartons with minimal plastic, only where needed -- our family is going to be ordering a lot more Sushi. Details: Sake (Salmon) and Hamachi (Yellowtail) are perfect. Maguro (Tuna) is usually perfect (like 98/100). Shiro Maguro (Albacore) has been excellent when we get it. Same for the Saba (vinegar prepared Mackerel) when we're in the mood. Ebi (shrimp) nigiri are a special treat. Tamago (Omelet), Inari (sweet tofu), and various veggies (steamed or tempura fried) all 10/10. Favorites include the soy-sugar-mirin marinated shiitake mushroom rolls, the broccoli rolls (steamed or tempura!), as well as the fried sweet potato rolls, and asparagus rolls -- order on repeat! We don't choose to eat Unagi (Eel) -- check Seafood Watch. Their Miso soup makes me feel like I'm home. Parking is getting trickier, it's a tight lot, be patient, wave if you see me, and if needed there's always room to park at the sidewalk out on the street. Make sure to add a note to let them know if you're like me and prefer paper boxes over plastic boxes.

Really just good value for the money. May be my new take-out sushi spot. The nigiris all came with huge slices of fish. The sushi rice isn't my thing.. kinda fell off the fish a bit.. maybe just me? Free roll, miso soup and salad included! I think overall this is just hard to beat. Only thing is this is takeout only.

Spicy tuna, sake making, salmon donburi

It's so good and so simple. The food is affordable and very fresh and delicious. I got a sake donburi, sake making and spicy tuna. I don't love avocado in my spicy tuna, but it was super delicious. It's a takeout spot in a strip mall with limited parking so plan accordingly. I'll definitely return soon, it's a great value.

Nori Roll is a tiny take-out gem of a sushi shop in a strip mall. They're efficient with orders- each time I've come in to order in person, it's ready to go within 10 minutes. We've been three times, trying specialty rolls, classic rolls, veggie maki (including sweet potato which is one of my new favorites), and pork ramen. Prices are very reasonable and there's usually easy parking.

Good quality sushi. I appreciate how many different choices they offer at a very affordable price point. This is a to-go spot, so don't expect seating. I will be back to try more of their creative rolls!

Dragon Roll

A really solid and affordable sushi spot. I ordered from ubereats and honestly it was worth the money. I'm surprised how fresh the quality of my salmon nigiri was! I feel like my least favorite was the spicy tuna roll. It definitely wasn't spicy and it was sort of slimy.. but overall good experience. The dragon roll was really good. Pro tip: ask for extra ginger bc they're a bit skimpyy and use different wasabi.

Our go to takeout sushi place! It's no frills and the fish is always fresh. Ordering online and then coming to pick up is a breeze. There are so many different rolls to choose from and we've liked everything we've gotten so far. The rolls are big, yummy and filling. It's not necessarily traditional nor is it a fancy place but if you're looking for a delicious casual takeout sushi place - this is it!

Cherry Blossom Roll

A great little Japanese takeout restaurant. Service was quick. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the fish. I ordered a chicken karaage, rainbow roll, salmon lover roll, and cherry blossom roll. Everything was really good and very reasonably priced. I will definitely come back.

so yummy and so good. portions are generous and the owners are so sweet. worth every penny! wasabi is legit! there isn't any real sit-down area, so its a quick pick up and take out vibe.

This is a Togo sushi place but with the Best quality sushi with reasonable price that I could find in the Bay Area. I have been eating sushi / Sashimi from all over the world including Japan. You should give it a try if you care about sushi rice , sashimi quality. They also have a reward program when you order online which makes it even better deal. Super convenient process. They also willing to use the containers I brought, making togo order environment friendly

It appears to be popular with families as well. It was a Friday evening after 9pm, kind of late for us to eat very much but I needed something so we popped in. It was quiet, maybe three or four other tables. Our food server was patient as I looked over the fairly large menu. Ended up with some of my current faves: hamachi nigiri, California roll, yam roll, and salmon skin roll. Everything was thoughtful, well prepared, and delicious. It was just enough food and I was good for the night. On our second visit, my hubby and I brought my dad for lunch to celebrate his 88th birthday. It was pouring rain outside but we were fortunate to get parking right outside the door. We ended up sitting by the window which was the same table we sat at during our first visit. We ordered gyoza (6) for the table. We all ordered bento. Dad had the beef short ribs and California roll, hubby had the Vegetable tempura and California roll, I had the Saba shiyoyaki and hamachi sashimi. All three came with miso soup and salad. Everything was delicious. My fish was well seasoned and moist, dad's beef short ribs were tender, hubby's tempura was light and crisp. Lunch was very reasonably priced for all we ordered. I am definitely a fan of this place and look forward to dining here again.

We ordered the natsu yasumi roll, the riceless sakana special, mango tango roll, and the classic lion king roll. The natsu yasumi roll was one of our favorites, even though the shiso leaf flavor was quite forward. The purple rice was absolutely stunning, and each roll was vibrant and meticulously crafted. Everything looked just as impressive as it tasted. Not to mention, the rolls came out quickly despite the level of detail in the presentation. The 4.8 star rating is well deserved! Everything we have had has been fresh, delicious, and well presented. The sashimi, specialty rolls, baked rolls (cooked ingredients besides tobiko), nigiri, and vegan/vegetarian rolls have all been excellent. I like the purple rice they use (sushi rice mixed with black rice) as it helps them stand out in both flavor and healthy offerings. The service is consistently on point too. Our servers have always been very courteous, attentive, and hard working. I appreciate that they can offer this level of food and service in a casual environment. I heard that they opened up a location in Albany within the last year or so that we have yet to visit. They do a great job and we're looking forward to dining with them for years to come.
