Auto zone is able to look up my info and determine that even though the warranty has expired, they can still help me out because I'm returning the core. But my phone rang just as I arrived and I got distracted and left my keys in the car and locked the door. So I went in and asked the clerk if they could sell me a SlimJim (lockout tool.) It was less than $4, and the two young men came out to my car to help me use it. I would not have gotten the door open without their help, even with the tool. They were very smart and it only took them a few minutes to get my door open. Then I explained my reason for visiting, and one of them did a "check engine" diagnostic reading for free! And then explained to me what it meant and what the implications were. Two young men who gave exemplary service to a tired old lady.

I took the battery to Autozone and they said it was no good. So, I am $50 in the hole. I could have bought a new battery and been done. Lesson learned.
