Do call ahead as they are usually pretty busy so you can get an appointment if it is not a critical issue. When we moved here we first tried out a local place that everybody swore was the greatest thing ever but the two cars they worked on both died violent deaths, I will spare you the details but the Alpharetta Fire Department was wonderful. After that experience I looked high and low and finally found Steve's. Greg has always told us EXACTLY what needs to be done. If it can wait he'll tell you that too. You won't come in here for a squeaky belt and leave with a new engine UNLESS you need a new engine. He has an old school work ethic and is just an overall great guy. I live in Cumming but would push my car to Marietta just to get it to Greg. I trust him and know I and my car will be treated right. read more

Update: 2016. Traveled all year and came back to Atlanta for several things one of which was to get my Landcruiser serviced by Steve's Auto Center for another year on the road. In and out in one day. Everything fixed and ready for another year of travel. Fair price and great service. Update: The new location, not very far and just as convenient as the old is a great step up and reflects the success and professionalism of Greg and his staff. I have been taking cars to Steve's auto center for over 20 years. From my 25 year old Landcruiser, through several models of Lexus, to my 2012 Prius Steve's auto has always provide excellent service at a fair price. I keep all of my cars for well over 10 years and as soon as the warranty is out I switch to Steve's . You can rely upon Greg (Steve's son) to give you honest informed advise and to do his best to match your objectives. People who are not familiar with car technology would be well advised to go to Steve's to avoid being take advantage of. Greg will not up sell you nor otherwise try to take advantage. He will inform you and let you decide how to maintain your car. Another very important aspect of Steve's auto is that they are the best shop I have been to for giving good estimates on how long a job will take and how much it will cost. Within reason if Greg say says it will be ready by the end of the day you can rely upon it more than any other shop I have used. read more

They will treat you right and solve difficult problems nobody else can. They are excellent technicians who will dig till the problem is solved AND THEY DON'T GUESS!!! We took our 8 year old German sedan to three different places. Each place told us something different. Each time, we felt like the shop's suggested repairs that did not make sense based on what we told them, (sound, location of sound, performance behaviors, etc...)...we just didn't feel they gave the car the proper attention or they just simply didn't know what they were doing. So we left those "other places" following our gut instinct. Steve's Auto Center obviously listened to what my wife said and how she described the issues. They communicated well, keeping us informed as they went through the diagnostic process. They were not afraid to discuss pricing of parts and other business goals - which I respect greatly. They gave us options and then made the repairs quickly. I have never taken any of my cars here before, I don't know who she worked with or really how she found this place - I didn't know they even existed until this experience.
