Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.

Never received a call from the service person. Luckily I called my renter and they were there and asked to speak to them. He said I had a small leak so I told him to go ahead and fix it. By the time the service person got done it cost me almost $800. He never called me to tell me any of that information and found out once they mailed me the bill. Won't be doing business with them ever again and sure won't recommend them.

It was bumped up against a copper wire and literally melting. He quickly repaired that, explaining as he went along. Discovered some other glitches and needed to come back a second time, in 2 days with an ordered part that he replaced. Now the heater is working correctly and that was well worth the money.
