I had an issue with my transmission not shifting beyond second gear. Stopped at the closest repair place they told me I needed a new transmission. Miracle occurred and it started shifting again. Called North American Transmission to make an appointment thinking I should get to a shop before it stops working again, but they suggested I drive it for a few days if it's working now and if it continues to work just fine it was probably just temporary and might only need a general service. A company that will provide you advice without charging you is rare these days. Calling them saved me from an unnecessary expense. read more

My original transmission lasted 200,000 MI he rebuilt it it blew up at 45,000 miles he will not honor it he tells me the rebuilt transmissions don't last that long better to buy brand new one which means he's not confident in building a transmission he has no business being in this business read more

This is the absolute worst car repair shop I have been to in my entire life ; The owner Buddy is rude and obnoxious ; Does not take the time to answer any questions ; There is zero customer service ; DO NOT, under any circumstances use this place for any repairs ; Even a 1 star rating is too high for this place, but they do not have anything less than that on this rating scale. read more

I have been using North American transmission for over 15 years and they are the only people I trust to work on my transmission related issues. We were on vacation in Orlando, as we pulled into town we began having problems with our transmission. The guys at NAT went above and beyond what the big box shops would do. Very friendly, helpful and they know what they're doing. They kept me apprised of what they were finding and worked hard to get us back going during our vacation window. Prices were more than fare. Being around as long as we have, we picked up a few things about customer service along the way. At North American Transmission we understand that transmission repair can be a very confusing matter to some, and we strive to make your experience as easy and stress free as possible. If you value your vehicle, do not take it to this business…read more I bought a deal they had on Groupon for an oil change. I had to call four separate times just to schedule a basic oil change. Each time, I was given a different excuse as to why they could not perform the service. Eventually, I was told to call back on Thursday to schedule for Friday -- which I did exactly as instructed. When I called back, they again asked for my vehicle's make and year. At that point, I was told the promotional deal only applied to vehicles 2015 and newer. This restriction was never mentioned during any of my previous calls, nor is it stated anywhere in the advertised description. To introduce new conditions at the last minute is dishonest and completely unacceptable -- especially for something as routine as an oil change. Despite the red flags, I proceeded with the service. When I returned home, I checked the oil level because by that point I had zero confidence in the quality of their work. The oil level was nearly a full inch above the maximum fill line. Overfilling engine oil is not a minor mistake -- it can cause serious damage to an engine. This level of negligence is alarming. The owner was busy talking on his phone throughout the service, and it is clear he either failed to properly check the oil level afterward or could not be bothered to correct it. Either explanation is unacceptable. Had I not double-checked their work, my engine could have suffered significant damage. That is not just poor service -- it is reckless. I strongly urge others to think carefully before trusting this business with their vehicle.

I plan on returning for an alignment on my car and new tires for my wife once hers need to be replaced in the coming months. Their pricing beats every auto repair chain in the area. Their service is always quick and their staff is always friendly, especially their mechanic. A little, possibly already-known, hack you can do is to take the diagnostics report that your auto repair shop chain creates for you after performing a service and bring it to Adams to see if their mechanic is able to help you with the repairs. They'll more than likely have to order the parts and you'll need to return again once they arrive but I can almost guarantee you the pricing will beat the big name auto repair shops.

Don't let the name fool you, they work on more than just transmissions! I've been taking my T-bird there for as long as I've owned her. I've even taken my daughters car AND my motorcycle there to be worked on! There's not much that Buddy and the crew in the shop can't fix, do or help you with. Love the customer service and their honest straightforward approach they take. North American Transmission installed the transmission in my Silverado. The installation process was slightly unique due to the fact that the original 4L60 was being replaced with an old school Turbo 350. I could not be happier with the entire process.
