Outstanding in the Field #OITF July 15th

You have many choices of a place to select when attending Outstanding in the Field I am happy we chose this one out of all of them this ranks in their top 5. The guest Chef was Stephanie Noel from Vancouver's Hawksworth Restaurant. The location was gorgeous... I understand that they do many #longtabledinners here. The back drop of these mountains lends a breathtaking Canvas to your special event. The produce and vegetables flavors were fabulous! Raspberries, Rhubarb, Garlic Scape butter, potatoes and carrots were divine! and the land owners Trish and Jordan Sturdy shared with us their humbled story it was cool to hear how they are careful to live in nature with the animals around them. Located about 30 minutes North of Whistler this is a place I will definitely return to for the Farmers Market.

A fun outing for all ages. Giant swings out back, pick your own berries (beware the mosquitos-wear long sleeve), enjoy the spectacular view over a coffee and snack from the bakery. Veggies and fruit for sale as well as a selection of Canadian gourmet products.

60 acre Certified Organic vegetable and berry farm. Great place to grab a coffee or Tea. Onsite bakery! At the moment they only offer fresh Chicken Eggs. I really hope they decide to sell Duck eggs in the future. FYI, From their website: North Arm Farm is Whistler and Pemberton's Family Farm Experience. Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, all grown organically compliment a full selection of seasonally available vegetables of every description. We start off with asparagus in April and end with pumpkins in October and fill in the rest with everything else that you can grow in this climate including beans, peas, corn, squash, cut flowers, carrots, beets, sunchokes, burdock, salsify, ground cherries and more. We also carry a great selection of fruit from the Okanagan. North Arm Farm is a 60 acre working farm practicing organic methodology. The Farm is open to the public daily through the growing season. The Farm has a full commercial kitchen which serves farm lunches and picnics and can also cater any on-farm occasion from corporate events to weddings. The Farm is has seasonal You Pick, berries, flowers and pumpkins and you can walk anywhere on the farm any day to see what we grow and how we grow it. North Arm Farm grows our crops following standards adopted by the Pacific Agricultural Certification Society, a member of the Certified Organic Association of BC. We are a PACS Certified Organic Farm #16-537. Feel free to contact Jordan at (604 935 2388) or Jordan(at)northarmfarm.com if you have questions or suggestions.

They have lots of vendors selling local goods, jewelry, arts & crafts, produce, and some food vendors - but not a lot. The only ones I recall were scallion pancakes, bibimbap, lemonade, shave ice, and pizza. We ended up getting some scallion pancakes and bibimbap. We also bought some syrups from the shaved ice stand. Most of the prices seem very fair, considering how expensive Whistler is in general. There's nothing amazing about this farmer's market but it's nice if you want to check out some local items, and if you have nothing to do.

Whistler is home to my absolute favourite farmer's market!…read more For starters, their produce is always in season. Depending on the time of year, you may only see one or two produce vendors at the market, but on my most recent trip I noticed three; two fruit stands and one veggie mini market. One of the fruit stands was carrying fresh, local goji berries, which was a fun surprise. I'd never seen or tasted a fresh goji berry before and the fact that they were local was just an added bonus. The variety of food/artisanal goods is phenomenal. Whenever I come, I always binge on, well, basically everything. This time, I got a snow cone from Frost Bites, a horchata from Aguas Frescas, and a plateful of paella from Entucasa. When was the last time you had a snow cone? If your answer is "too long ago" then you will not be disappointed if/when you buy one from Frost Bites. They use their own syrups to flavour them, leading to some unique--yet downright delicious--flavour combinations. I got lychee yuzu and peach with lemon verbena. I seriously recommend that you try Aguas Frescas; they've recently expanded to selling their products at markets outside of Whistler, and for good reason; people--myself especially--can't get enough of them! I love all their flavours, I love that all the ingredients they use are simple (no preservatives here!), and I love how friendly they are. The paella from Entucasa was good; there was a nice portion size on the plate but after paying $15, I wanted more than just one spot prawn. Also, I missed the chorizo, which was not included in this dish. Whether you've never been to a farmer's market before or love them like I do, the Whistler Farmer's Market is a nice place to start.

The music was great, the drinks are cheap, and the service was attentive (they kept my water glass full all night). For food, we enjoyed the honey garlic wings, fried pickles, and poutine. Every time we're in the area we stop in a least twice - once as a family and again just for date night with my husband. I'm blown away at the food and drink prices (you can't beat them) . The food is pretty darn good and the drinks are the best. We came in for lunch and I ordered the Warehouse Mac and cheese which was a perfect conviction of cheeses and Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo Sauce on Cavatappi Noodles, and it was just spicy and flavorful enough. We also ordered the sun-dried tomato pesto penne and my son had the crispy chicken Caesar wrap - all were equally as delicious. Returning for drinks, i had a couple of the Sour Keys - (Smirnoff Raspberry, Peach Schnapps, Lemon, Sprite and Sour Key Candy) and oh man - they were dangerously good! Both visits the staff was very friendly and attentive, we never had to wait long, and the bar tender was on top of making sure we were always hydrated. Love this spot and will happily return again.
