    Bacon Cheddar Bun

Love this little Deli/Cafe located inside the Nita Lake Lodge! They have fresh pastries, breakfast/lunch sandwiches, delicious coffees, teas and juices. Start out the morning right with some yummy food and great morning conversation. The service is extraordinary and it really is exciting to have a cafe on the premises that offers so many items. I recommend the Nita Muffin and the bacon cheddar bun both are mouth watering. We have 2 days left on our mountain getaway so I am sure I will have the opportunity to try many more things! Happy healthy eating!!

Fix Cafe is located inside the Nita Lake Lodge and opens at 7AM every morning. The cafe is comfortable, has free wifi and has your typical coffee shop scones, muffins, salads, soups and sandwiches. What stands out is their lamb pie. Amazingly lean, yet succulent meat without all the heavy gravies that are usually found in pies. My husband ate 2 of them this morning and I had 1 myself.

During my business trip to Whistler, BC we had a few lunches at Fix Café. It's located within the Nita Lake Lodge plaza. The food is prepared fresh every day and has an organic flair. They serve a variety of pastries and breads, as well as soups, salads and sandwiches. Each day there is something new on the menu. During the summer they grow their own herb garden. The location is off the path from the Village, but this is a local favorite and has a warm atmosphere with great views of the mountains. Service is friendly and they offered complementary cucumber flavored water, very refreshing.

Enjoying my coffee with this view!

Loved it and debated getting another one soon after - Apple Jack (5/5): I don't have too much of a sweet tooth but this was a very nice treat! The apple slices were juicy and the bread / biscuit was soft. Not crumbly which is a win in my books! - Chocolate Cupcake with cream frosting on top (5/5) as my kiddo demolished it without us trying...that should definitely say something about the taste! - Iced Latte (5/5): always a good pick me up, especially on a sunny day! Service was fast and staff were super friendly (and patient). The cafe was cute with a few tables inside and out. On a nice day sitting by the lawn enjoying your drink and eateries is such a perk! Overall we enjoyed our time eating the baked goods here!

Their pastry display is so beautiful. There are so many choices that it can be overwhelming. The person who helped us said that they're known for their scones. So we decided to try the blueberry lemon scone and the bacon chive scone. Both of the scones were SO SO SO delicious. We also got lattes there and their coffee is also really good. We had such a good experience the first day that we decided to go back the next day. There was a line this time, but it was definitely worth the wait. This time, we tried the egg and cheese brioche, raspberry and white chocolate scone, peach tarte, and giant chocolate chip cookie. Again, everything was wonderful. You really cannot go wrong with anything at Purebread. I would eat here everyday if we had one by us at home.

I am so glad I went with my gut because they were incredible! They came out perfectly hot, nice and crispy, and were tossed in a seriously flavorful sauce that took them to the next level. The space itself has a few tables if you want to sit and enjoy your food, along with a super convenient self-serve water station. Definitely a great, lively little spot to kickstart your morning--don't skip the tots!

They have a tiny sign hidden behind the water faucet, so small that I didn't see it in two visits to the place. About 20 minutes in, I was made aware of the no laptop rule and put it off to the side. At this point I hadn't even finished drinking my coffee or eating my pastry. As soon as I was done with them, the same boss lady came over and basically asked me to leave because "there were families looking for a table." She even had the audacity to tell me to "read the room." At this point it had been 42 minutes since I entered the establishment and about a half hour since I received my order. I was seated at the smallest table in the place and not taking up much space at all. It would have been tough for even two people to squeeze in to the table where I was seated. Adding insult to injury, in between my two interactions with the boss, a customer rudely asked when I would be leaving. It took all my strength to politely offer to share the table with her, but she just said she wanted the whole thing to herself. So in the span of about 20-25 minutes I had 3 separate conversations trying to justify my existence at this tiny table. It was unreal and I honestly thought I may have been on some hidden camera television show. This place basically wants to take your money and then rush you out so they can get more people in there. I understand the obvious dollars and cents motivation for this, but it's crass and callous and completely unbecoming of even a small town coffee shop. I travel about 200 days a year and I've been to literally hundreds of terrible coffee shops, but I've never in my life been treated this poorly as a paying customer. Maybe just place a big sign informing everyone of a time limit on how long they can sit. Or at least tell the guy who walks in with a laptop bag and blatantly sets up his laptop that he can't hang out there (like I said I was unaware of the policy so obviously wasn't hiding anything). I would have paid double, even treble, to just be informed in advance so I could patronize a different local business in Whistler and avoid that experience.

The place is very unique, the interior is built to look like the inside of an igloo, and it is all white and very minimalistic. Not someplace I would go for a coffee and to work for a bit, but a great place to grab a coffee. The staff were nice and helpful, it was rather busy when we were there. The latte was small, but very flavorful and creamy. The coffee was smooth and not bitter. We enjoyed it. Just know because it is Whistler and in the village the prices are a bit high, but coffee seems expensive pretty much anywhere.

Plot twist: it turned into a full-on appreciation moment. The espresso? Dialed. Rich crema, deep aroma, balanced body, zero bitterness. You can taste the precision from bean to bar. It's the kind of shot that makes you pause mid-sip and go, oh yeah... this is why I love coffee. Then the gelato came in to cool things down and absolutely held its own. Silky, clean, not overly sweet, and the perfect contrast to that bold espresso. Hot + cold combo = undefeated. We savored 20 minutes and ran back to gondola to get last chat at 3:30.

Others have said they aren't traditional Aussie pies and I get that if that is your expectation. I always try to appreciate the cafe for their take on the food items. Peaked Pies didn't disappoint. It is a small spot with just a few tables outside and a few tables inside. The eatery gets pretty busy so we felt lucky to get a table inside. They have a lot of choices and we settled on the ones we wanted to try. I went with the veggie pie and added the mushy style peas, mashed potatoes and gravy to the top. Mr. B decided on the Kangaroo pie after talking to the staff. He was a little leary of where the Kangaroo came from, but we were told there is a farm in British Columbia that raises them, so he wanted to try something he had never had. Please see the note below about the kangaroo. There is a correction. The pies came out and were quite large, but we must have been hungry and they were scrumptious we finished them off. Let's start with the veggie pie. It was filled with veggies, carrots, potatoes, onion, corn, celery and yams. The sauce is a coconut milk based sauce and was creamy. The Hopper, with ground kangaroo was lovely. The pie is filled with ground kangaroo, and I mean ground, it was fine meat and stuffed full with a Cabernet Merlot Balsamic Reduction that balanced the sweetness of the meat. The service was great, the staff was nice, and helpful. Great choice. NOTE: I received a correction from the owner of Peaked Pies after posting this review. The Kangaroo is not sourced from British Columbia as we were told. While the food was excellent this was disappointing to hear. Mr. B specifically asked where the kangaroo was sourced as he didn't want frozen and would have ordered something else. I wanted to let you all know I was wrong as we were given inaccurate information from the staff.

We also wanted to try the kangaroo (The Hopper) and spinach & ricotta roll, but will need to return for those. The butter chicken and beef curry looked tempting, too. Extra hungry? Add a topping of mashed potatoes, mushed peas and gravy to your pie! Perfect spot to grab a warm meal after being out in the cold, or even just a quick bite while walking through the village.
