I e Been going to this optometrist for many years and he is great. This weekend I ran out of contacts and am waiting on a new order to come. I figured stop by his office and ask for a pair to get me through the next day or two. His office was rude and said they wont do that and basically I'm s.o.l. Pretty bad customer service imo for being loyal for so many years. Come 2026 I will be finding a new office. read more

This is Costco's optometrist. The optometry is great, but they don't ask about insurance, and then they refuse to submit a claim if you call later that day or come in the next day. They say that the insurer won't accept the late claim, but the insurer says that Dr. Dinh's office is just being lazy, and they have six months to submit. This matters because if the Dr. submits you get full benefits, but if you submit yourself you get treated as out-of-network. I complained to Dr. Dinh's office about this, no response. It's really far below the level of customer service you'd expect at a Costco facility. I'm switching. read more

The Optometrist at this office, Michael Dinh, OD, basically saved my life! I owe so much to his exceptional care and attention to detail. It was in a routine yearly eye exam that he noticed a discrepancy in my field of vision. He did an eye scan and when that was clear he referred me to an Ophthalmologist to do further testing, as it was his observations and exam that said it was very possibly brain/neurological and not related to my eyes. Boy was he right!! I had a benign tumor the size of a tangerine. I was told by my Neurosurgeon that this is how medicine should work, and I so agree!! read more

Such a great experience! Went in with the intent to make an appointment at a later date and was offered a same day appointment. Quick and easy. From front office to eye exam, everything was well explained and streamlined. Walked out with a written prescription, a trial pair (impressed because my prescription is not commonly in stock), and a travel sized cleaning solution with contact case. I had a great experience here. The lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Angie, was so polite and professional. The doctor was knowledgeable and timely. My contacts and glasses are doing wonders for my vision. I have had problems in the past getting used to my new vision prescription. This was not the case with Dr.Dinh. My vision is clear and my eyes are correcting. The doctor even helped me get my contacts for a lower price. I definitely recommend this office for your vision needs. There should be a 0 Star option 1 Star is too many. I've been seeing Dr. Dinh for the last five years. He's always taken issue with my use of contacts. Yet - for the last 5 years he renews my rx each time. But this time, two days before leaving the country for vacation and having no back up pairs of lenses, Dr. Dinh felt this was the proper time to stage an intervention on my use of contacts. He refused to renew my rx and literally ordered me to go get overnight glasses. He specifically said, forcefully " you're going to drive up to Santa Rosa and get overnight glasses right now!" Obviously this is unacceptable on a number of levels. He has no authority to order anyone around. Further, a Doctor that's actually interested in their patients well being should be willing to work with them, not order them to jump through hoops. He could have simply given me a one month rx, allowing me to complete me trip without worry of not having back up lenses. Instead, he chose to tell me to piss off and left me high and dry. read more

Today I got a very strange experience with Mr. Dinh. Ether he did not feel comfortable with a bit more complicated case or he naturally has some anger management issues. Mr. Dinh was abusive to him patient, I did not feel comfortable and walked out from his office after he expressed some unwillingness to help me. I can't trust such a doctor and I can't recommend him to other patients. Here is a complete story. I got a red itchy eyes, I have a bad family history with the eye diseases, so I was scared, made an appointment and came to Mr.Dinh's office in time for the help. I finished with paperwork, and his assistant suggested me to run some tests on 3 machines. I was scared, not sure, that it is safe to do so in my case, and ask her to allow me to have a short conversation with doctor, before doing so. At the time Mr. Dinh was with another patient in his office. I patiently waited, he finished with the patient, and as soon as he realized that the expected tests were not done, he became abusive, and instead of just listening for my concerns and confirming that these tests are safe for me, he started to explain what these machines are doing in a aggressive manner. It looked strange, and I did not know how to calm him down. At the end I got the feeling that he very much wants me to leave, so finally I left and found another doctor. read more

THEE best Optometrist I've been to in the 16 years I've been needing one. He is thorough, detailed and gave me tips and guidelines that I've never heard before (in 16 years) - have I said that already? I don't care! It took 16 years to find an Optometrist that cares, takes his time and wants to make your "Seeing Life" a better life. My appointment was inside the Rohnert Park Costco, at the Optical Department. I called to inquire about a appoint due to being on my last pair of contacts on a old prescription from a former eye dr. Not only was he very reasonable in pricing he was able to get me in very quickly, the eye exam was very efficient, he made sure I was getting exactly the right prescription and double checked to make sure the prescription he came to was best for me. So happy that I saw Dr. Michael Dinh today! I am an active person and have always wanted to try contacts for sports and outdoor activities, but have been told by several optometrists in the past that I could not be fitted with contacts because of the shape of my eyes were too irregular. Dr. Dinh saw how motivated I was to try contacts and gave me a thorough exam and explained the ins and outs of contacts wear with me. He went the extra mile and ordered some custom contact lenses for me to try at no added cost to the normal fitting fee. He explained that even if the contacts did not work for me, at least we would have peace of mind that we tried our best. I tried the contacts today and am so happy to be able to see clearly without glasses! I cannot thank Dr. Dinh enough. He is a down-to-earth and caring human being and very knowlegeable and skilled at what he does. read more

Great eye doctor! I went for a contact lens prescription last week, after another doctor attempted to rip me off. He clearly knows what he's doing, was friendly and professional. I'll be going to him next time I need an eye exam and would definitely recommend him. Also, you don't need a Costco membership to see him. So don't overlook him just because you don't shop at Costco. (I'm not sure why the other reviews aren't recommended. They're pretty accurate.) read more
