My wife came in for her appointment! She was handed a clipboard with questions on it! The receptionist told her to fill out all of the information! My wife said I have already done this before! We have destroyed all of the old records she was told! We need new records! The owner Ron Martin came out of his office and started yelling at My wife! He should be glad that i was not there! How long to get your glasses from Dr. Martins office, Don't know because after 3 months and still no glasses I lodged a formal complaint with my insurance carrier, and they, my carrier, sent me to a new optometrist. I will receive my glasses in 7 to 10 days. In addition, the new office, handed me my prescription, which was accurate, before I left. Dr. Martin's office did not send me the prescription until 2 weeks after my exam, and the prescription was wrong! Do yourself a favor and save time and money by going somewhere else. K read more

Just received my new glasses from Vision Health Optometry. Dr. Martin was very thorough (spent over 1 hr with me) and I was very pleased as always (past 10 years) with his service as a provider. The optometry support team was also excellent with regards to frame and glasses selection. Glasses arrived extremely fast (~6 days) however, I missed the call that they had arrived and only knew about it when I called 2 weeks later. My only complaint was they did not call again. I do not recommend this place. The staff is kind, but Dr. Martin is rude, especially to children. Upon sitting for the appointment for my 5 yr old, I expressed my concern of most optometrists not willing to have children as patients. He quickly said that he had worked with younger kids with no problem. Then he began talking condescendingly to my child. Of course, that made my already nervous kid even more nervous. A simple question from my child of "What's your name?" (as he was meeting someone new to him) warranted a response from Martin "My name is on the door. Do you not read?" and a scoff. I was shocked. It's so simple to be kind to kids. The rest of the appointment got progressively worse. He started with letters. My kid knows how to read and letters are no problem for him. First one was fine. The second one was smaller and my kid, lo and behold, couldn't *see* it. The letter was G and my kid said 6 because his eyesight is *poor*. Dr. Martin scoffed again and said rudely "I guess you don't know the alphabet at all". I should've walked out then, but I was hoping to obtain a prescription for my child's obvious sight issues. He then proceeded with the assessment completely flustered and frustrated, often taking it out on my child with rude, mean comments or by moving his head too roughly. In the end, Martin failed to assess my child and we were not even able to obtain a prescription. Again, it takes next to nothing to be kind to a child, especially a nervous one who has never had an eye appointment before (something Martin was aware of). My kid ended up sobbing in my arms after the appointment because of Martin's behavior and is now terrified to get an assessment somewhere else. Do not ever take your kids here. read more

All the staff at Vision Health Optometry are always friendly and professional. My exam went smoothly, and the prescription for my progressive lenses was perfect. When I accidentally knocked out the lens, Drew fixed it right away and they are good as new. Highly recommend. read more

Visited today and found the Dr. Ronald Martin and staff at Vision Health Optometry to be very knowledgeable and friendly. The practice accepts multiple insurances, including EyeMed, which is why I chose this practice. It was the closest practice to Petaluma that accepted Eyemed other than Target stores. My first impression of the practice is it is very well run. Dr. Martin was friendly and explained in detail what he found with my vision. The woman whom helped me with finding the right pair of glasses was great and was able to fit my big head with a pair of glasses with ease. I'm sorry I do not remember her name though. I would recommend this practice to others and will more than likely have the rest of my family join this practice as patients. The only negatives would be the price, but that has more to do with my crappy insurance, and the distance from my home. While not far, it is more than I wanted to drive. Fortunately, I did not get my eyes dilated today. read more

Super friendly staff, really great selection of eye-wear! I've been getting my glasses here for over 10 years, and I've never been unhappy with their options. The ladies in glass fitting know their stock inside and out, and are super helpful with suggestions and make a rather arduous task something of a breeze! The Optometrist is outgoing and thorough, and is packed with endless entertaining stories to keep you preoccupied through the vision tests and exams. Great staff. Very friendly and efficient. Dr. Martin was very thorough. He took more time than most optometrist this 70 year old has had. During the evaluation he noted an anomaly in one eye and forwarded that info on to my Kaiser doctor which in turn exposed a vulnerability to glaucoma. Very happy to catch that early. EVERYONE there was extremely nice, from the moment we entered the office to the moment we left. The front desk staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had neglected my eye care for far too long. I honestly could not remember the last time I had my peepers checked out by a pro. I always imagined it sort of like the repeatedly neglected dentist visit - if you don't go, then they can't find anything wrong, which clearly means nothing is wrong... right? That shooting pain in my molar is *totally* normal. After a trip to Vision Health I'm glad to report my eyes actually ARE healthy! And now I KNOW that! I went here on a whim during an awkward burst of responsibility, and I was super impressed. Dr. Martin took awesome care of me. He was super friendly, and didn't even give me grief for having put off getting an exam for so long. He was really fun to deal with because he took his time to explain absolutely everything he was doing to my eyes (I'm a huge nerd, so I love that stuff). I walked away with renewed confidence in my vision, and a sweet new pair of shades. If you've been following my logic, and putting off an eye exam indefinitely, STOP IT. I'm not one to write many reviews especially a negative one as I like this office and have been coming here a long time since Dr Weber owned it previously before Dr Martin who is amazing and staff is usually very helpful and delightful but my last couple experiences today being one of them, the older front office staff lady, not Dr Martins daughter who was so sweet by the way or Mary who I learned has just left the practice, has just been short and rude in responses to my questions, as thou she can't be bothered to take the time to explain fees and how it works with my insurance instead is so rude and snappy with her answer and as I left the office today I said I hope your day gets better! She responds I'm having a great day! I'm like it would be nice if you showed that with your patient. Maybe just a recap on proper patient Etiquette would be helpful for this staff member. read more

The Doctor is great. He explains everything very well. The office manager is very rude and doesn't want to help patients at all. I was very uncomfortable the first time and I decided to let it go, thought maybe she was having a bad day. The second visit was even worse. Don't ask her any questions she will stare at you with a smart ass smile on her face making you feel bad for asking any questions. I think she does it because she is the doctors wife and doesn't need to care. Its really sad and I have never felt that way at a doctors office before. I will never go back to this place again. You are only as good as your weakest link. A change of attitude and patient care is needed. read more

However the lady helping pick out glasses was not interested in finding the best deal for me I explained to her I would like to do the best deal possible and most likely be calling back in a month or so after the holidays are over to purchase my glasses. I have been using Vision Health Optometry for about six years now. The staff is extremely friendly and Dr. Martin is not only informative and experienced, but he's always got a funny story to keep my mind off the exam. I had very little knowledge of my specific eye conditions before seeing him, but Dr. Martin was able to explain to me what each condition was and answer any of my questions. He even recognized me on my second visit, even though it had been over a year since I had seen him! They also have a fantastic selection of glasses and great prices on contact lenses. Took my 9 year old son here a year ago and the doctor was just not to personable but I chalked it up to it was my sons first real appointment so maybe it was just a " off " situation. Well I was excited to try them again for my eye appointment today even booked my sons back to back..... well they messed up the scheduling then argued with me about how there system messed up but there was nothing they could do and I would have to come back at a later date. In fact argued with me for 25 min past my sons appointment time ( I was suppose to go after him) when I brought it to their attention that instead of going back and forth they could have almost been done with both of us they still just had attitude like it was my fault even though I had the reminder text on my phone. Needless to say they refused to make it right so I told them I would take my family elsewhere, they still did not seem to care.... sad to say I guess they did not need the business even though the parking lot was empty. I like that they called to remind me to make an appt before the end of the year so I wouldn't lose my yearly benefit. Very helpful and accommodating when making an appt. Welcoming and friendly staff at check in. Professional , friendly, and knowledgeable person did my pre-testing. Dr. Martin is thorough, took the time to explain what he was doing, answer my questions and provide information. The office is clean. They use new technology and equipment. This was my second visit. I wear contacts and glasses, but I did not get glasses this time. The only thing I don't like is that there is an additional exam fee for contact lens wearers. I highly recommend them. read more
