I have been craving their hamburger pizza but they are usually closeed when I ddrive by. Today a messed around long enough to arrive when they were open. I ordered my pizza and sat and enjoyed a very good Paloma while waiting. My pizza arrived and I left, I should have looked at it but didn't. When I got home it wasn't what I ordered it had chicken and spinich on it. I didn't want to drive back and reorder so I went ahead and ate it, it was a very good pizza but not what I ordered so I took off one star. From now on I will try to remember to look at what I get. Not sure if I got someone else's order or they just made the wrong one. I would still recommend this place because I have never had a pizza I didn't enjoy. I came in during dinner hours to pick up an order I had placed over the phone. They told me it would be ready in 35 minutes, and it was ready right on time. The music was a little loud for my taste. I've been multiple times while visiting family on the peninsula. There's almost always an issue. Pizza undercooked or overcooked, but it's decent, the live music is nice and the drinks are good. Today, I went to pick up a takeout order around 7:15pm. My 7 year old nephew was with me, so I brought him in to pay. Immediately upon walking in, a server (who I learned was named Jodi) yelled to me, "NO MINORS!" I said I understood, that I was just picking up an order and I'd leave. I looked at the other woman standing at the register who asked me if the child could wait outside. I said no, that it was dark outside on a busy street and that he was only 7 years old. She took my name and had me pay, while continuing to ask if the child could wait outside. I repeated, "Not alone. He's only 7." At this point, Jodi storms past us and outside with the pizza telling us to follow her. She shoves it into my arms and literally screams at me, "NO MINORS ALLOWED IN THE BAR" and SLAMS the front door of the restaurant shut (there was live music during this so you know the entire restaurant heard). I put my nephew and the pizza in the car and called the restaurant and asked the manager on shift to come outside to talk to me since I obviously couldn't go back in. Holly came out to talk to me and said she understood what I was saying, and repeated the minor policy. I appreciated her understanding that I couldn't just send a little kid to go stand alone in a dark parking lot. I absolutely understand that they could get in trouble, but the reaction here was insane and asking a 7 year old to wait outside alone is crazy. There should either be a sign on the door that says to call for curbside if there are minors with you or mention it when taking an order over the phone. This was an absolutely extreme and public overreaction to a simple issue. Our family won't be back. read more

We moved to the Peninsula five months ago and soon discovered this place. We like hanging out here, even if it's just to have a beer or two and listen to music. A local regular spot for many who are greeted on a first-name basis. The bartender and servers are engaging and friendly, and we've had very good luck with deliveries, too. The tap beer is reasonably diverse, and the cocktails are generous. They make an excellent Manhatten. Pizzas use a medium-thickness crust and are quite cheesy, and they load them up with tasty ingredients. We've tried three or four and they were satisfying. The burgers and the salmon sandwich are quite good. If you're in for a childhood memory, the Frito pie hits the spot. NBT does not have a fryer so don't expect fries and tots. Salads are fresh and better than most. Wednesday night they serve "Supper Club," which is a rotating menu; we've tried it three times and it's a good value. Probably as important as the food is the frequent live music appearances. Some of the artists are quite good, and offer long sets of late 60s and 70s songs that strike a nostalgic chord. Rustic and simple inside. Bring a light jacket because it can be a tad cool during the winter. read more

Update: 8/25/2022 I decided it was time to update my review of the NBT. They're holding steady at 3 stars for me. The pizza is pretty good. It's probably third on our list for peninsula pizza quality. But tonight, we ordered a Deluxe pizza and asked to add green peppers. $2. Really? We're talking diced green peppers. Barely any. But the sad part was the $9 dinner salad. It had wilted lettuce, and didn't look appetizing. If you're going to charge $9 for a dinner salad, have some pride in the lettuce you choose. Whoever sent that salad out clearly doesn't eat salads. read more

The pizza that I ordered, the bacon chicken ranch was fantastic. The server was also very attentive to me, and I didn't have to wait much for any one thing. The tavern itself is awesome, and definitely gives off that local hole in the wall ambience while still looking like a classy place. Cute little place in the north end of town by our condo. Seating is limited, but wait a few minutes and a table will come available. The 2 gals working the floor and bar - they were HUMPIN' It! Good house wine, got the deluxe pizza (yes we added pineapple). Absolutely fantastic. Crust on the thinner side, which I prefer. Toppings were abundant not overpowering. Perfect amount of gooey melted cheese... But the sauce, that made it. Possibly the best sauce, taste and amount that I've had in some time. We get to Long Beach often. This is only pizza delivery available in Long Beach by our hotel. So be prepared to order early before meal times. Delivery: Great delivery guy who was probably a retired grandpa. He was very kind and prompt. We tipped him very well because the service was amazing! He was also very well-spoken with a positive attitude. Pizza was promised within 45 minutes, and they meant it. I highly recommend this simple, naturally sweet salad with a bit of tartness from the apples and feta cheese. Pizza: This is the first pizza I have had in Washington since moving from the midwest. I loved Italian inspired Punch Pizza and had yet to find anything worth raving about until now. This pizza had a crisp thin crust, loaded with cheese, ham, sausage, pepperoni, olives, onions, and mushrooms. My husband said the pizza box was so heavy! That's a compliment! I loved how hot this pizza was! It was straight out of the oven. I almost burned my lips. When was the last time you had fresh, made to order delivery? If you want pizza, this is the place to order it. There are no crust options from what I could tell, but who cares! It's simple food and fresh ingredients. What is there to complain about? I didn't intend to eat 2 slices, but after one bite.. I couldn't stop. The marinara was mild which I loved. I have a sensitive stomach so really tart or acidic marinara sometimes throws my taste buds off. The toppings played well together and were freshly sliced. The toppings were also very thoughtfully placed and portioned through out. I can tell the person who made this pie made this with care. I wanted to give a shout out to North Beach Tavern. We rolled into Long Beach late. LBT's kitchen was closed and suggest we head to NBT. UPDATE: The owner responded that smoking is allowed as long as it's 25 feet from the door, and these people sat NEXT to the door. There were several smokers all next to the doors, no one was sitting in their designated smoking areas. Also the woman taking to-go orders literally at the front door was smoking. One of the only bars in town that is truly dog friendly. We are camping down the road and decided to eat in town. Our pretzel bites and pizza were amazing, the crust is unreal! Great beer selection. Drove up from Oregon to see Washington and we stopped here on a whim. Husband and I shared the Caesar Salad and the Hawaiian Cowboy Pizza both were really good and we'd for sure order again. The crust on the pizza was the perfect amount of crisp and the salad had crispy onions which added a new flavor I've never had in a Caesar salad and really enjoyed. My family was staying in Ocean Park for the week and we had had a hankering for pizza for a number of nights ... for a few reasons it didn't happen until our final night, and we were glad that we ended up choosing North Beach! We ordered take out because we have a little one and he's not allowed inside the tavern. Didn't matter though. Ordering was super easy and the waitress was very friendly when I came to pick it up (it was hot and ready when I arrived, right at the length of time they said it would be). We ordered out usual stand-by ... sausage and mushrooms. Super good! Fresh ingredients, cooked properly, and oh so delicious! The crust was amazingly good, crunchy and chewy. Yummo! Looking at the list of beers on the wall when I went to pick it up, I would've loved to have stayed there for a few round and sampled a number of their offerings; but alas, it was a "to-go" order for us. I pulled up to park and a woman working in the kitchen very "nasty" said I can't park there it's for deliveries. I jokingly said " Im your new delivery driver" she says - "I don't think so." I didn't even get out of my car and it was still running, all I had to do was pull up a few feet to another space, not a big deal . I was not whatsoever confrontational. I go to order and I'm told that they can't serve me because I had a confrontation with an employee. I asked for the manager and the bartender said she's not in but she will talk to her tomorrow. I was totally embarrassed because everybody looked at me when she said she couldn't serve me. And I was very nice and pleasant to the bartender as was she to me. She told me the employee in the kitchen sent a message to her boss and her boss sent a message to her, wow that's great customer service isn't it! How did I verbally abuse her? I jokingly said I'm your new delivery driver and moved my car immediately, to say that I verbally abused her is a lie. I'm having a great day. And if it's such a challenge why don't you put some signage up? At least the sign wouldn't be rude to people. She could have been pleasant when she asked , and she glared at me and talked about me to a customer. I was impressed that the person who took my order remembered my name from when I initially introduced myself on the phone. There was someone right there when we walked in to the pick up area right by the door and she brought our food out quickly. I thought from the description in the menu that the cheese sticks would be a soft bread stick with mozzarella inside, but it was more like a normal cheese bread. It was good but could have been cheesier. The pizza was good and thqe crust was just the right thickness but I would have preferred a little more sauce. The marinara dipping sauce for the cheese sticks was the star of the show. It's obviously made from scratch and I dipped everything in it. I'd buy it by the jar if I could. We ordered 2 16" pizzas for curbside pickup. We came to get them and made the mistake of not checking and we got the wrong order! So when we got home I called and the woman right away said she would talk to the owner. They offered us a full refund or to deliver our correct order (we were about 5-10 minutes away) and we said we'd take the correct order and they were seriously here SO quick- plus they hadn't been doing delivery that day so it was an exception for us. Extremely pleased with the solution they provided- more than made it right! As for the pizza itself it was delicious!
