That couldn't be further from the truth. They called me around 2 AM saying the job was complete and asked me to send the remaining balance. Just minutes later, my driver reported that the truck was shaking extremely bad. When I called them back, they told my driver to meet them about 10 miles away--only to then say there was nothing they could do. Since then, I have been calling them all morning with no answer. On top of that, my toolbox was stolen off my truck while it was in their possession. This entire experience has been unprofessional, dishonest, and unacceptable. I paid $4,000 for work that was clearly not done correctly, and now I'm left dealing with additional damage and missing property. If they do not communicate with me ASAP, I will be filing a civil suit and taking this matter to court. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

After the repair attempt, I expressed concerns and suggested a partial refund since the repair neither fixed the leak nor provided a temporary solution. I offered to return the car to him for further inspection before ordering parts, and mentioned I might take it elsewhere for a better diagnosis. Frank responded by saying he had $19 in materials and spent an hour on the job, and that the visit cost $125. He was unwilling to provide a partial refund because it would cause him a loss, but offered to come back and install the necessary part for free, provided I pay for the part itself. While I appreciate his willingness to come back for the install, I'm disappointed that the initial promised fix failed, and that a refund or compensation for the failed repair was refused. Communication could have been better, and it's frustrating when a repair doesn't resolve the issue but still requires payment for time and materials without a satisfactory resolution. I'm now taking my car to Jordan Lake Auto to a repairman named Ross, who I highly recommend for reliable and honest service. Later, they called to say both AC lines were leaking and sent a new estimate for $1,996. In this updated estimate, they claimed I had approved the diagnostic for $101, removed the freon recharge from the original quote, and bundled it into the service section along with hose replacement--without clearly explaining the changes. After doing my own research, I found that even the dealership only charges around $780 for the same repair, plus $350 for the recharge. I also spoke with another mechanic in town who informed me that my vehicle had an extended warranty on the AC compressor, and advised me to go to the dealership instead. When I told Brown's Automotive this, they responded with, "Well, how am I supposed to know about a warranty?" It would be helpful if staff at car repair shops were more informed about manufacturer warranties. Instead of automatically charging customers, they could guide them toward services that might be covered--saving time and money and building trust. They refused to remove the diagnostic charge, even though the issue wasn't just the cost--it was the lack of transparency, poor customer service, high cost and the way they misled me throughout the process. I'm shocked by the positive reviews and would never recommend this shop. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where honesty and customer care are a priority.

I chose Chapel Hill Tire because it was the only place within walking distance from my dorm. Over the years, I consistently took my trusty Toyota there for service. When I eventually gave the car to a friend, it had 275,000 miles and still ran perfectly. My friend added another 100,000 miles before the old Corolla finally went to Toyota Heaven. In those 42 years, I've lost count of how many cars Chapel Hill Tire has serviced for me, my wife, and my four kids--roughly around 17 cars. We've never had an issue until about a year ago when there was a problem with an oil change. Fortunately, the warning lights worked, and I was able to address it myself. When I informed Chapel Hill Tire about the mistake on my next visit, they were thankful and assured me it was a fluke. However, the same mistake happened again on my next visit with the same car. I was shocked and unhappy. When I informed the garage and the manager, they were equally shocked and horrified. They identified the root cause, explained that it was a data error, and assured me that it had been permanently addressed. Chapel Hill Tire went above and beyond to rectify the situation and ensure it never happens again. Admitting and owning up to a mistake shows a lot of character, and Chapel Hill Tire has shown me just that. Despite the errors, their response has reinforced my trust in them. I look forward to bringing the next 17 vehicles to Chapel Hill Tire.
