A crew of three arrived to seal our driveway and immediately began edging and blowing debris. While using a high powered blower, they knocked over a container of used oil near our garage, getting oil on the corner of our driveway, house, mulch, and lawn. The incident was captured on our security cameras. Accidents happen. What is disappointing isn't the spilled oil, it was how it was handled. The crew left without notifying us or cleaning it up, and we only discovered the damage ourselves. We contacted the company the following day asking what happened and received a reply a couple days later that they were having technical difficulties and could reschedule. Unfortunately, the response did not address what happened or accept responsibility. The lack of communication and accountability is what prompted this review. While the oil container should not have been there, contractors still have a responsibility to inspect the area before operating equipment and to communicate when problems occur. Had someone informed us, cleaned up the mess, and either completed or rescheduled the job with communication, I would not be writing this review. DO NOT USE!!!!! I was a new customer. They spent maybe 15 minutes on my driveway, got on their truck and left-never came to my door. Very sloppy work-got asphalt on grass, and areas outside of the driveway-I called, spoke with receptionist who told me the manager wasn't in but I would get a call back and asked if I could send pictures-I did; I GOT NO RESPONSE BACK. I texted them and asked if they got my pics-they said "yes-thank you." Nothing other than that. Next two days went by-still no call from a manager or anyone. I called them and my message went to voicemail. Horrible business. I did not get a bill yet but will not pay it until someone contacts me to make things right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Who knew that I would be writing compliments about a drive way sealing company? But I am. I love how mysterious life can be. North Coast was recommended by a neighbor when I mentioned that I really needed to consider sealing my asphalt drive and didn't know where to seek help. So glad I called them. Phone service was prompt and customer service was great. Price was good and end result good. The only MINOR issue and I mean minor! Was that the very good and very efficient team of young men who did the work, were very unresponsive. No doubt they just wanted to get to work, finish and leave. They wanted to avoid chit-chatting . My attempt to welcome and greet them was basically ignored. But, they got right to work- so I I'm not too upset. read more

I've been using North Coast to seal my driveway for as long as I can remember, but the most recent job disappointed me. The guys doing the work were GREAT and did a fantastic job, but when it dried I could see that even the tiny micro-cracks did not even get filled. I don't know if the material has changed over the years, but the end result does not appear to "seal" anything. It is a nice paint job though. read more

Don't use. He seems to think he is only allowed to do our neighborhood. My husband and I used a different (better quality) company to do our driveway. We had a lot of cracks and oil stains so it is a two part process. While our driveway was in mid process, North coast made sure to have our neighbors done and that night I found him (the owner) walking down our driveway taking photos, because it's not finished, then pictures of my neighbors to compare jobs. (It was all caught on our ring) I went out to confront him telling him he didn't have permission to take photos on our property of a job that is not done and he knows nothing about to try and him him look better. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I had some major damage to my driveway and it was at a point in the summer where pavers were hard to find. I called one place on a recommendation from a friend, but that place couldn't do the job so they recommended North Coast. North Coast apparently did a drive-by estimate without the estimator even talking to me (I called because I hadn't heard from them in a couple of weeks and apparently they just left the estimate in my mailbox--not even in an envelope). I called back after I found the thing (buried under real mail) and they (okay, the receptionist) assured me the job would be done right so I signed the estimate (desperation) with the understanding that I would get to speak to the manager before they started work. Never happened. About a month later, they sent some subcontractor (which was not mentioned in my contract) late one night who had no appointment, no work order, no contract, nothing. The sub called North Coast (at least I was led to believe so) and the person on the other end of the phone assured me the sub was working for North Coast. Under duress, i let them do the job (i had a gaping hole in my driveway where it had collapsed and needed to have something done immediately). The sub, of course, didn't do it right. As far as I know, they filled this sink hole with asphalt and didn't level the driveway. This led to me leaving more messages with the receptionist at North Coast who assured me they would "make the job right." They didn't. They stopped sealing a month before the end date given on my contract (no idea why because the weather here was unseasonably warm through January and they stopped in September) so the work was never completed. Then they started sending bills for the full job-- three months later-- again, no return calls. I sent them an email, outlining everything and asked that they please set up a time to meet with me to take care of this. Again, no response; just another bill with late fees added. Seriously? Maybe they gave my driveway some trendy new design treatment that makes it look gray, sloping, and cracked with grass poking through? I think the most insulting--and telling-- thing is that they haven't tried to contact me (other than the bills--can't wait to see another $15 "late fee" for the work they didn't do). Probably the worst part is because they screwed around so much, the original contractor who wrecked my driveway in the first place (and agreed to pay after I had to mention lawyers) is now likely going to renege.
