Service: Employees at the buffet, front desk, and basically everywhere were all incredibly helpful, nice, and friendly. Atmosphere/ambiance: My family were talking about how this hotel reminds us of Great Wolf Lodge. Lots of fun things to do such as a pool and photo opportunities. We stayed specifically for the indoor and heated outdoor pools/hot tubs, I think there was only 1 day where they were all working and they all seemed horribly dirty. Also, the rooms could use some TLC, the phone and hairdryer didn't work, the remote was dirty, my 5-year-old son found what looked like a sex toy in the headboard of the bed. Only a few video games in the 'arcade' were working for the visit. The halls were only vacuumed maybe once and the noise of people letting kids and teenagers run the halls was unacceptable. No one seemed to monitor this (parents should be accountable, but no one from the hotel helped let people know they should not be letting kids play hockey in the hall...YES they even had a net outside of our room!!!) When you have so many people coming in and out they should be cleaning the pools/hot tubs more. Also, if one breaks fixing it should be ASAP not 2-3 days. I have managed pools and spas; the condition AND temperature needs to be checked 4x a day and adjusted. I have a picture that I shared with the staff of the thick mountain of froth in the hot tub it's sad management didn't see it before guests did. The good things were the linens were clean, and they provided robes for adults and kids. The reviews I saw gave us much higher expectations than we experienced. We got into room and there were dirty towels wadded in the bathroom. Called to complain and was told we will send someone to clean and had to wait over 45 mins. Halls were dirty. Pools looked dirty. Outside looks very run down. Staff were not very friendly. Very disappointing, The website is very deceiving, and not at all accurate. We've been going to The Grand for a while now. Great lobby with a bar, couches, restaurant and TV's. We were here for the Super Bowl and there was plenty of room to relax. The restaurant is back open and nice if you don't want to travel (closed during pandemic ) The hotel is next to outlets for all your shopping needs. The gym is nice, pool and hot tub are great. The rooms are a good size and pretty clean. We did have a noise complaint one time but it was fixed with no issue. read more

I just had a one night stay here, hallways were dirty, room was sparse and also dirty, falling apart and smelled odd like body odor & mold. Definitely in dire need of a good cleaning, maintenance, and upgrades. Definitely NOT worth the high rates they are charging. I didn't try the food, but it seemed from the menu that there wasn't much to offer. Positives are the location if you like being near a giant outlet shopping area, a Walmart, Lowe's and Market Basket...but if you really want to feel like you're in White Mountain territory you might consider elsewhere. I stayed here for a night for a conference. Let's start with the good things: Amazing location, it is a 2 minute walk to the outlets, and close to everything. The lobby is cute and they have large conference rooms. Dinner was great at the conference. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The room was decorated nice and had a large tv. The cons: The room smelled musty and the ac didn't work that well. The room was clean but you can tell it needs some updates and is old. The bed was pretty hard and the blankets just okay. One of the conference rooms we were in the AC broke and it got very hot. Overall a nice, clean hotel with friendly staff, lots of parking and great location. There was good and not so good parts so I'm on the fence to recommend a stay here. N. Conway is a fun place to stay with a good amount to do. The best part was the good location and reasonable price for Thursday night, not so much of Friday. The local Outlets near by are good shopping! The lobby has fun large animals and wood bears and a tv fire place sitting area all nice. Check in was good she gave us top floor room to view the lake and falling snow that was coming. But the room was very chilly so turned up the heat. We dropped bags in room and went to the hotel restaurant to eat. The brisket chili was mediocre the cornbread was microwaved into a brick. The wine from J vineyard had turned and was undrinkable. Wait Staff was nice, the manager a bit rougher, less friendly. Back to room still cold. Told front desk we had no heat! Maintenance came tried to fix it but no luck. Nice maintenance guy and I see he's very busy trying to keep up on this big place. So looking forward to hot tub and fire pit outside in the frosty air, we got robes went down. It was steamy hot and pretty outside and being a week day much less crowded. This Outer tub was great and few nice travelers to chat with. disappointed to see no firepit. We were told it's broken. Maintenance guy found us in pool with bad news we need to move rooms due to no heat when we get back upstairs. Ugh. 10pm Wet suits on and go repack and move. They tried, and offered breakfast vouchers to make up for it. Other folks in the hot tub said their rooms were so hot they couldn't cool off so it seems a big hotel issue regulating temperatures. The new room was good with a bed comfy and nice couch to relax on. Next day we went out until night and came back to unmade room. Ugh. Why? Sorry how bout breakfast vouchers to make up for no service. No thanks. Getting in lobby tonight was a freaking zoo of 50 teenagers running around some dripping and half dressed from swimming. It was a noisy night. Breakfast buffet was a good attempt at large service buffet. Sausage gave a tummy ache for hours afterward tho. So stay mid week if you go and hope for a good stay! read more

This was not my first time in North Conway been here many times, but this was my first time staying here at the Grand. I really enjoyed it, got a good nights sleep. The staff was helpful, coffee in the am is a must and they have plenty. We came with our family and will come and stay here again. We were traveling with a group bus trip. The lobby is very cute with a large gathering area. The luggage was handled well. The rooms were clean and sufficient. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of choices. A couple of hiccups. Only 1 of 3 elevators are working. Clearly, they did not have a service elevator because the maids and laundry used it as well. The fruit served at Breakfast was on its last legs, and there was no butter to be had for the toast or waffles. By the time the butter arrived, we were finished eating. Weird rules about alcohol. All amenities geared to small children yet a charge is required for all rooms, with small children or not. Shower not hot. The Parking during this time is ample and the wait times were very short to check in. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. As we entered our room, we noticed a very musty smell. After looking at the ac unit, I can see the coils were in much disrepair, this making the unit less efficient. The coils also had water and caked on debris. We had to shut down the air unit for health reasons and prop the window open for fresh air. The room maintained a warm and uncomfortable climate. We also had to ask the staff to replace a urine stained mattress cover. The staff were quick to replace the cover but am concerned they would leave this on the bed. This is our third stay at the North Conway Grande. Customer service at the front desk was super friendly and helpful! We heard them recommend restaurants, shopping places....and personalize customer service. A customer asked if the business office/area could be opened earlier than posted hours....the response was "absolutely" Check in was swift. Being ski season there were many customers and the pools and jacuzzis were super busy/crowded. Glad we upgraded to a jacuzzi room-well worth the extra $$. Being right near the action (Settlers green Mall/shops/cinema/restaurants/breweries) is wonderful but you're also close to nature (hike spots/animal sanctuaries, white mountains)..... It's the very best of all worlds when you stay at the Grande! read more

Book elsewhere! Below is part of the email I sent to the owners and never received a reply. NOTE: we stayed in their "premiere suite". Upon arrival we checked in and went straight up to our room. We immediately identified issues. First, the window blinds were broken, cookie crumbs and lint were visible on the floor, the mirror in the bathroom had water spots on it, the 1/2 length mirror in the hall had lick marks on it, and the remote in the main bedroom was broken and missing its battery cover. We called front desk to report the issues. Maintenance handed us a new remote and did not fix the blinds. He stated that "was why we had a privacy shade behind it". When housekeeping came, we had to repeatedly show him what needed to be cleaned. After he left I could still see handprints on the furniture and feel stickiness on the surfaces. I pulled out my Clorox wipes and was disgusted by the filth I found. My mother-in-law and I spent the next 45 minutes disinfecting all surfaces including the vinyl chairs, table tops, counters, and bathroom. When we went to put our kids to bed that night we found dirty, gross, crusty, stained sheets. We again called the front desk- which was a constant theme of our stay.... They sent up Housekeeping to change them. The next morning, we woke up and went to use the bathroom. The toilet handle got stuck, pouring water all over the floor. We called the front desk yet again and had to wait for maintenance to arrive. He fixed the toilet cleaned up the water and stated he would be back to put another chain on. I told him we were now running late and needed to leave and he stated he would come back to fix it after we left for the day. I asked him if this would keep happening and he annoyingly stated no, that is why he was putting on a new chain and that it happens to all toilets with chain (not the case if they are properly maintained as we have lived in our house 12 years and never encountered such an issue). As we were leaving, I asked the front desk to let the maintenance man know he was free to make the toilet repair. The next morning, Monday, we went to use the toilet and the chain broke again... toilet water pouring on the floor. We again called the front desk who sent up maintenance. It was a different person this time and he quickly "fixed" the issue and left. When we went back into the bathroom, we discovered blood on the bathroom wall above the toilet. The maintenance man must have cut himself while fixing the issue and either did not see or chose not to clean up the blood stain. As we left for the day, I went to the front desk and ask that they have someone clean the blood off the wall. Tuesday, we woke up to use the toilet- as most people do- and it broke yet again (first flush). We called the front desk yet again. The original maintenance man from Saturday and Sunday showed up again. He was carrying a plunger. When I told him no plunger was needed, he jumped down my throat and stated he didn't know that so he brought it. When I told him this was the 3rd toilet issue, which was ridiculous, and he had not fixed it properly the first time he gave me attitude and started talking back. My husband, who was in the other room, stepped in and told him to fix it and get out. The man "fixed" the toilet but left the toilet water all over the floor. I had to call the front desk yet again and have them send housekeeping up to clean the water. After housekeeping left, we continued to get ready for the day. The toilet broke AGAIN. I called the front desk to let them know and the gentleman offered to send the rude maintenance man to our room again. I refused. At this point, I had had it with the hotel and just wanted to leave. So, instead we shut the water off to the toilet to stop it from pouring on the floor and continued packing. The room maintenance was non-existent. Multiple staffers were rude. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, tiles falling off the shower wall, staining in the toilet, and dead bugs in the lighting fixture... and that is just the bathroom. My daughter developed pink eye the final day of our stay and I can only attribute it to the filthy conditions at this hotel. read more

I decided to stay here during a ski trip at Cranmore Mountain. Overall an enjoyable stay at a homely inn. I was pleasantly surprised with the free hot cocoa and cookies on offer in the lobby upon my arrival. We booked a 2 queen, 1 sofa-bed room which I was quite pleased with in terms of comfort and appearance. At night, I was able to hear exuberant shouts from 4 young adolescents in the adjacent room, as they quoted old Trump tweets aloud. Phrases like "witch hunt" and "$2000 ASAP!" quickly transitioned into their making a U.S. presidents "tier list." Although this disruption was inconvenient and poorly timed, I must concede was quite amusing. Oh, and in the morning our shower wouldn't turn off and was blazing hot despite being turned entirely to the "cold" setting. read more

Loved it here - stayed for a quick winter weekend and was not disappointed. We had a great view of the snowy mountain and the location is central to everything (walkable to the outlets and some restaurants). We had a jacuzzi in our room which was a fun treat and the room itself was more than enough space for 2. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Save your money and go anyplace else. Duped by the photo so and website. Whoever took the photos of this place deserves a raise and an award because it's nothing like the photos on the site. The photo attached is of one of the pools that is not really a pool since it's only a foot deep. Wading pool? I want to cry out of sheer disappointment right now. Sitting on the deck, which looks like a tornado recently hit. There is no open spot in the pool to enter, I guess I could cannonball over people. People next to us blaring their music out of their blu tooth speaker. Nothing relaxing about this. Such an utter disappointment. Cannot find towels anywhere. The ground is moss covered and sticks to your feet when you walk around barefoot. It's disgusting, especially when you see people rinsing it off in the pool. The hotel room is small with an ac unit that sounds like an airplane taking off. We arrived in mid august to a room WITHOUT the ac already going. The bathroom was clean but again, small. Can't figure out where the sound that resembles a cat meowing is coming from. Probably under the bed, but I'm afraid to look. For a hotel that is as expensive as it is ($350/night!!!) there is nothing grand about this place. Waste of time and money. We cancelled our second night. Musty room. This place has a great location but the hotel itself needs work. The rooms, old, musty smell, no bathroom fan and popcorn ceilings. The room just stunk. Cracked window but couldn't get the smell out. The gym has several broken machines. The bar closes at 9pm only 3 draft beers. Carpets throughout the hotel are so worn especially hear the elevators. I feel like this place has definitely recovered post-pandemic and the reviews from 2022 are no longer applicable. We stayed two nights in July and had a great time with our family. It was definitely not "modern" but it was super charming and our kids who are 5 and 2 years loved it. The staff were wonderful, especially the waitstaff at the on-site restaurant. Our junior suite was spacious and very clean. Swimming pools were a big hit and parents can relax in the hot tub while the kids swim. The Settler's Green area had a crocs store where we could pick up shoes for our five year old. For breakfast, we walked over to the Met for some amazing sandwiches and rainbow bagels and fruit cups. read more

So, I hate leaving bad reviews. It's just not nice. But I can't leave my Yelp folks out in the cold without something real, so here goes. My first impression of the hotel was the outside looked kinda cool. Very stately and welcoming. Then you realize that the tour bus in front of you is blocking the entire entry and it's a one way (and all he would have to do is pull forward a little) so you have to park in the lot a long way away to check in, and it's pouring rain. (the hotel did not make him move up even though there were 3 hotel employees helping the bus driver unload the luggage. Oh well. Not happy but not the end of the world. We find out while checking in that the hotel's restaurant is full and can't get us in for several hours due to said bus load of people. Whatever. Not happy but I guess it's my own fault for not getting there earlier. Come to find out the restaurant doesn't do room service so had to leave in the middle of the night to get food. Not happy, but whatever. So, after getting back from said food run, I go to the bathroom only to see that my toilet is covered in DISGUSTING nastiness from whoever stayed there before me. I call the front desk and nicely ask them to take care of it while I'm out getting food (food that I should've been able to get from their restaurant) and they applogeticallty say they will take care of it. So, I come back from eating and after awhile I go to the bathroom only to see that it has not been cleaned. I call the front desk and ask them for it to be cleaned and they say the cleaning staff is no longer there for the day and offer me a new room. I can't move rooms without waking my wife, who is already upset about the situation, so I ask for cleaning supplies to do it myself and leave to get a drink. When I get back, FINALLY, they have done something right and left me the cleaning supplies, I'm like, wtf?!?! That's the only part they could get right... the part where they didn't have to actually do anything.... Not happy. But whatever So, i leave for the next hotel because I'm here to see leaves, and I left my Roku in the room, and have called them 3 times and STILL havent heard back from them!!!! I get that it's my fault I left the Roku there, but not calling me back after 3 tries at $400 night!??!?! That's just not acceptable. Sox that's my story Yelpers. Watch out for N Conway Grand Hotel. I stayed at the hotel in early October for two nights. The room was reserved on an online hotel site and it was fully paid for. When I checked my credit card, I found that the hotel had charged my card $464.81 from 9/30/19 to 10/2/19. The hotel cancelled the two $50 and the $164.81 charges after a few days. But it took a full nine days to cancel the $200 charge. That was after 3 emails. This hotel is on a nice property, walking distance to a shopping area with plenty of restaurants nearby. While the room is clean but it is not perfect for the price I paid. The bath sink and tub were slow draining. Staff was courteous but she was really busy being the only person checking in guests and answering questions. I had no problem with the room or the service for the price (not cheap). However, what the hotel did with my credit card was a major issue that resulted in the one star rating. I stayed in a lot of hotels from the upscale to moderate ones. It is common practice for hotels to ask for a credit card on file. So I handed over a credit card and an ID. The front desk rep informed me that the hotel charges $50.00 on the card just in case. The charge will be reversed once I check out. I did not think too much about it and said okay. I have never had any problem with hotels making unauthorized charges on my credit card. It is hard to overlook the $164.81 and the $200 charges after I checked out. On second thought, the practice of charging my credit card $50 per night is ridiculous. I have a credit card on file. The hotels would charge the card if I charge meals or other services on the room. Why charge my card just for checking into a room that was fully paid for? This is enough reason for me not to book this hotel again. read more

Was looking forward to staying at this hotel as it's in a great location and from what I've seen online. But after staying here I was not exactly impressed. Our room was spacious but lacked some things. Half the channels on the tv did not work which was frustrating when trying to kill time in the room. The air vents were filthy...like have not been dusted in months. And to add to the visit our neighbors were extremely loud and constantly slamming doors (not the hotels fault but didn't help the experience). The hotel itself was okay. I found a bed bug crawling on me at 1AM when I got up to go to the bathroom- I will NEVER go back. Not to mention, the staffs lack of accountability and support. They were in complete denial even after my husband brought the bedbug to them. The girl at the front desk said, without even seeing our room, "we did our own investigation and determined, we don't have bed bugs"... oh that's funny. You did an "investigation" without even going into our room. Maybe wait till you see our room before you start your protocol of denial. They did switch our room after I demanded it and since they were sold out, I almost guarantee they cleaned that room and gave it to the next person. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! PLEASE BEWARE!!!!! This is my experience staying at the North Conway Grand Hotel. The GM refused to refund my one night stay and denied that the bites occurred at the hotel....these appear to be bed bug bites, though I declined the biopsy to know for sure. The GM as you can see from his response, claimed that the room was inspected which I find hard to believe. On a Friday after 10 am he was able to get a professional on a holiday weekend when it was the busiest weekend in all of North Conway as the foliage was near peak is doubtful. Despite phone calls and emails I never heard back from the manager at all. The GM did not respond back to my last email asking him to confirm that they will not be refunding me and deny that the bites occurred there. I'll be sure to include this in all of my reviews so that no one else suffers. read more

My whole family ended up testing positive for Covid. The won't refund the reservation. Was being charged $523 for 2 nights but am now being charged $291 for ONE night due to cancelling 12 hours after the 72 hour cancellation time. For the price you pay this place has gone way down hill! I'm going to give this visit 2.5 STARS with a value of a D. We went up during Mass school vacation paying top $ as we needed to get away after a busy work.  We chose this place as we wanted to enjoy the outdoor hot tub in winter conditions which we have done in the past. Entering the room the table was dirty and there was hairs in certain areas. I went to the front desk and asked for some sanitary wipes.  The rest was ok. Well they put us in a small first floor (not very spacious) corner room on the first floor it was OK for the two of us but was literally right next to an outside door that was very noisy.  BOOM!  Every time someone went out. Kids in the hallway.  Then the smoking kiosk was right next to our room so people were out there smoking talking late at night!   If you go during Mass vacation week note the place will be crawling with lots of kids.  The pools were madness and even the hot tubs filled with kids.  The second night we were able to get out to the hot tub but they closed it "early" after the kids finally left and was forced to go inside where the chlorine level in the indoor place was out of control that wifes eyes hurt... Bed was OK the futon couch was not comfortable.  The TV was awesome but recommend looking into a Netflix option. They had free coffee in the morning which was nice but nothing else.  A continental break was available for $7.99. Settlers Green shopping which usually is a big plus for staying here.. but 1/2 were empty waiting for "new settlers".  They did provide a coupon for a FREE Fire pizza. Suggestions in order to return to GRAND:  Expand the indoor pool area, build and arcade area, create a kids pool and hot tub;  Expand adult hour swim times. Some infrastructure improvements with doors.. remove smoking areas outside door... make them walk far from building. read more
