Have you ever been to a gym and it feels like home? Me either, until now. I am a shy, out of shape, curvy woman who has always been intimidated by gyms. I have always stuck to the ellipticals and treadmills because the weight areas are always overrun with judging eyes. Not to mention the mating call grunts from the guy with biceps the size of my head. NCS is NOT that type of gym. NCS is the most welcoming gym I've ever experienced. It is class based, however you have the option to go in for open gym. It's a rare occasion that you see someone in doing their own thing. The classes are that good and the people equally as amazing. Everyone supports each other, pushes each other, and helps hold each other accountable when they haven't seen you in more than a few days. I just finished doing their 6 week challenge. The first couple weeks were ROUGH!!!! but now I'm down 20+lbs and I'm hooked. I finally feel like I'm making progress getting back to the physical self I prefer and also feel so much better mentally. Thank you NCS for providing an environment where all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels can go to feel welcomed and comfortable. Or... comfortable in the discomfort that is working out. I recently checked out NCS on the constant urging of my friend. I was hesitant at first since I've been a part of "community" gyms in the past and ended up a little jaded. Because of this, I have had a hard time finding a place where I truly belonged. Over the last year and a half, I have tried out multiple places and really just haven't found any place that I wanted to stick with, thus I lost myself as a priority. Excuses were always made as to why I didn't need to go to the gym, why I could "put it off until tomorrow". Then I came here......I finally put all of the excuses aside, all of the immediate family matters and made the decision that I was going to put myself first for at least one hour in that week. Well that was 3 weeks ago and I think that I have been nearly every day since. The people, the staff...everyone at NCS has been amazing! So welcoming, always asking how you're doing, always making you feel like they truly care that you're there. I've finally found a place to belong and I look forward to coming in Every. Single. Time. The moment I walked into North Corner Studios, I felt the energy. It was a Saturday morning, the music was bumpin, people were cheering in the Velocity Studio, and I was thinkin "I want be part of this". Since enrolling with Jeff that morning until today, my life has completely changed. I can say from experience it is the camaraderie between coaches and members alike that sets this place apart. I knew everytime I finished class strong it was because we were all in this to reach the same goal...to feel good! I reached every goal I set for myself in 6 weeks! I don't know where to start on how to explain everything there is to love about this place. I'm not one of those workout enthusiasts that genuinely loves to sweat, yet I love this place. The coaches ACTUALLY care about you, your health (physical AND mental) and will always happily take the time to talk with you about reaching your, goals, getting a plan, and encouraging you in the class. I wish everyone had something like this in their life, so if you're in the Everett area, consider yourself one of the lucky few. I really love this place. I was a runner until I had my son. Now that he is 4 years old and I'm 30 pounds over weight I'm finally ready for some weight loss and getting back to my healthy self. I walked in for my first class and I was greeted with genuine warm smiles from the staff and owner. I highly recommend this gym. I love the CLEAN equipments. The trainers will have a friendly reminder to do a wipe down of the equipments used during the class. I like the trainers and members that cheer me on. I need all the pep talk I can get. The women's locker room is always clean! After 2.5 months of training 3 class per week I have improved on my running time and I actually have muscle again. Come try out this gym. So different from your average gym - in the best possible way! NCS offers a variety of kick butt classes and is constantly striving to improve things for their members. They are always asking for member feedback and make adjustments to classes/schedules/workouts accordingly. Everyone who works here is invested in your success and your health in a well-rounded way. It is the most positive and supportive environment and caters well to all fitness levels. Members become friends and then become family as we all work together toward our health and fitness goals. Environment that keeps you accountable and showing up. The bootcamps are a mix of HIIT, Athletic training & CrossFit style workouts but so much more. The velocity classes the best cardio and one of the best mental escapes you can have to just listen to your inner-self and body! The classes are truly made for any level fitness(even if it's your first time in a gym) you are constantly working at your own pace and skill level-lift heavy, light, pace fast or slow. I am utterly amazed at how amazing each of the instructors at North Corner are. They are very motivating and wonderful at helping you every step of the way. I truly found my forever home here. I had been searching for a place to start working out and had set up several places to tour and try out. The moment I walked into the door at NCS, I knew it was the place I was meant to be.Everyone there is amazing at keeping your spirits high and believing that you got this. I could not imagine going anywhere else at all. I have a lot of medical issues that keep me from doing most things involving knees and each and every trainer there will modify anything I need, so that I can continue to workout with the group. I have recently joined. I thought id give it a shot and figured it would be like any other gym. I was wrong! I was hooked after my first velocity class and joined that day. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be excited to go work out! The classes are beyond fun, full of laughter and jokes. I feel proud of myself after each class. To say this place is amazing is an understatement! Not only are the instructors amazing, but everyone is supportive of each other. This is the only gym I've ever been a part of that I actually miss when I can't go. They have amazing classes that anyone can do, along with cycling classes, yoga, female focused classes and an open gym available. This place is amazing. North Corner Studio has inspired me to do things I would have never dreamed of doing. With the supportive staff and amazing encouragement from the friends I have made, this year, with my gym partner we won a two fit to quit challenge, competed in a gears and beers challenge with a group of amazing people and won and I am now working on completing the Spartan Trifecta. NCS is the place to join if you're looking to change your life! The trainers are the best of the best. They are constantly changing things up so your body never knows what to expect; no workout is the same from one day to the next. Velocity (spin) class is the ONLY kind of cardio I've ever done that I LOVE! I sing along, push myself to the next level, and leave that room drenched in sweat with a smile on my face. This group of coaches is amazing! Not only do they put you through intense workouts, but they are constantly pushing and encouraging you to go all out, to give it your all and to inspire you to be the best you, that you can be! NCS has been a game changer! I love that no matter what your fitness level, you can just walk in and get your workout on. No judgment whatsoever. I've been coached by the North Corner trainers at another gym for the past year but they had little leeway in the daily workout because it was controlled at the corporate level. At North Corner, these coaches will have complete freedom to develop unique training classes that will push you to your goals keeping in mind all our fitness levels we are starting from are different.
