We tried to stop into NCK&B on a Saturday for lunch while at Lake Leelanau, but unfortunately that didn't happen... When we arrived at 11:30, the door was locked. We checked the website, FB, and Yelp again to confirm we didn't miss something about business hours... The restaurant was supposed to be open at 11:00, which it was not. As we turned around to leave a staff member unlocked the door and said they were running late and that they anticipated opening around 12:00 (Note: He was nice and apologetic about the situation). Not really sure what was going on at the restaurant, but not opening on time without customer notice (of some kind) is inexcusable... I understand unforeseen circumstances can happen, but the restaurant at a bare minimum should have put a sign on the door, updated FB, etc. We ended up not waiting the extra time and went to Village Inn instead... Very disappointed in NCK&B, as it was recommended to us and we were really looking forward to dining there - Unfortunately, we will not make a point to go back to try.

Place is very cute and homey. Clean place and kitchen looked clean. Food was pretty good! I loved the mushroom crostini and shrimp cakes! The onion rings and lobster bisque i wish had a bit more flavor but still yummy. Priced pretty fairly!

Most people were seated outside and the poor servers had to keep running back and forth since we wanted to sit inside with AC. Still, they tried their best and once we were able to order, the food came at normal time. And boy was the food worth a wait!! We split a turkey sandwich with cherry preserves and a fish po boy. Both were outstanding. I loved how well the cherry preserves went with the turkey, making it interesting and refreshing. The fish po boy was lightly breaded, with delicate, delicious fish, and a perfect amount of creamy sauce, on a soft roll. I wish I could go back weekly for it!

Prime Rib steak, baked potato, coleslaw. So good!

Absolute gem! Recommended getting there right at 4pm for a table to avoid waiting for a table (restaurant open at 4-9pm wed thru sun, reservations not accepted). The prime rib is amazing with a side baked potato & coleslaw. Worth the scenic drive up the peninsula if coming from Traverse City. Parking available on the side streets. Cozy, casual atmosphere, full bar, friendly staff! Outdoor seating available. I love their "It's Fine" slogan: so midwestern, understated when the food hits the spot! I have dinner here every time I visit family in Michigan. Highly reccommed!

My guests were happy with the food so thats #1. Thought the place was cute. Light weeknight crowd -- tho one of the servers seemed stressed. Would have enjoyed a booth as we were right by the door and the bar and all the door traffic. On to the grub: The onion rings were good--big and light and crispy. The brown drizzle is not appealing nor flavorful. The whitefish bruschetta was overproduced. The whitefish should be the star, and it was a scant finger of filling -- which had a good flavor -- down four oblong very crunchy toasts with some shards of radish as garnish and some truly flavorless "pesto". There's no excuse not to be having fresh basil to work with at this time of year. Niece liked the tuna, partner liked the beef sandwich. My small salad needed a plate - the oval ramekin makes it look quite scant. Chicken on top was very dry. $170 out the door (incl tip) for 2 apps, 2 beers, 3 entrees and a soda.

    Tuna tostada... delish!

Awesome spot! The service was exceptional. The ambiance of this place is unmatched. You're welcomed, comfortable and always pleasantly surprised by how the food gets better and better. Pictured is the tuna tostada. Must-get for an app!

WOW We looked at the menu and the Crystal on the table and thought: New Orleans food in Sutton's Bay?!? What's going on?? Here's what's going on: Matthew lived in New Orleans & graduated Tulane University & went to culinary school and he has brought 5-star New Orleans food to Sutton's Bay! (We met him when he stopped table side to see how we enjoyed the food) In general, your foodie rule should be DON'T eat Nola food outside of Nola UNLESS you eat it here!! Fantastic: walleye cajun style- which in this case, is topped with an amazing crawfish sauce- truly I will be back just to eat this again My husband had the prime rib, another rare event for us up north but we were celebrating his first marathon so indulgence all around and what a perfect place to do it We've been talking about this meal for an entire day now Lucky lucky Sutton's Bay- when word gets around, you'll have the TC crowd taking up space so get in there while you can

their fried rice tastes like Christmas!! Waitress lowk a bitch! Ordered a medium rare steak and it came out grey.... The burger def is from the sink... fries are the best thing so if you come just get fries!!! Music is from a 30s horror movie and alll of our drinks are empty so don't come thirsty!!

This has to be one of our favorite restaurants as we travel northern Michigan this summer season. We had great service by Becky, sat outdoors on their dog friendly patio, had lovely creative cocktails, and then a fantastic and creative lunch. It's definitely a cajun theme, and we loved it Prices were in line, or better, vs. other Northern Michigan eateries. Only slight miss was one of the larger pieces of chicken that was slightly under done. However, this was rectifier quickly once we notified our server. I would definitely recommend it, and we hope to visit again on the next trip to Suttons Bay.

With that being said... the service was the downfall. When we walked in, the only other table that was seated was leaving so we were the only group. They were not busy. We had 12 and they cleared an area and seated us. We placed our drink order and then I asked about splitting the bill and I am not exaggerating one bit. She looked at me and rudely said "It literally says in the menu that we do not split bills and that there will be a 20% gratuity". So, since she is already guaranteed the 20% there is no sense in her being a good waitress from that point on. Again, we were the only table. There were times that we had to go to the bar to refill drinks. Another table did come in while we were there and that waitress was super friendly. Wish we had gotten her as our server. So, we each went to the ATM machine and withdrew $ to split the bill on our own. The very next day, we went to Rare Bird Brewery and when we walked in the staff told us right away about their policy to not split bills. Which we praised them for - excellent service. And in the end because they were not busy, they split our bills anyway. So, my suggestion is that Streetside Grill announce their policy when a table that large asks for seating. It costs nothing to be up front.

The only reason I'm rating this restaurant 4 stars, is because the hostess is extremely rude. I don't know her name but she was working at 3PM (there were 2 or 3 girls at this time). The way she responded after we asked "what" when we couldn't hear what she was saying, was extremely condescending and "valley girl" like with a high pitch/annoyed tone. I also saw her do this to someone else too. it's not a good look and almost turned us away but we really wanted to try the food. My fiance and I both got the fried white fish sandwich with fries and it did not disappoint! The batter wasn't super thick and it absolutely melted in your mouth. I also love the type of bread they used for the bun. I think it was ciabatta bread? I might be wrong but I think that's what it was. The entire flavor combo was really good. Also, our waitress, Jillian, who was fantastic, gave us extra tartar sauce without even asking! I think she knew we were about to ask lol! We also asked for the fries well done and they definitely were. The fries also didn't taste like old oil or anything, they were really fresh. All in all, we were both very satisfied with our meals and were happy with the entree choice! Oh, I also had a Moscow Mule but made with whisky and that was also very good. I had the house whisky and it was very light and very good. All in all, a good experience with the food and the views -- the hostess just needs some training on customer service. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite!

So much so that when her parents came to visit, I wanted to take them here, and I'm glad I did. We made reservations for 4 people ahead of time, which is recommended, and we got a nice table inside. Rachel was our server and what a complete gem of a human. Rachel is funny, attentive, and just plain awesome. Three out of four of us got drinks and my Old Fashioned was made VERY well, I know it's a simple drink, but you'd be surprised. My girls aperol spritz was also made well. Nobody ordered appetizers but I chose a bowl of Morel Forest Mushroom Bisque and HOLY SH*T was it good. Once I tried it I had to make everyone at the table try it and we all had the same reaction. Rachel came to check in on us about the drinks n soup and I expressed how great it was. The pizzas came out a little too soon but it was fine since nobody got appetizers. My girl got the Spanish pizza and her dad ordered the Smoked Brisket BBQ, and they loved their food. The Spanish was a perfect balance of sweet n savory and had a crunch with the nuts and was absolutely awesome. I didn't try the bbq pizza because it was gone quickly haha. I ordered the Chicken Parm, which is going to be hard not to get next time. The pasta seems made fresh, the sauce was bright and flavorful for 'just a red sauce' and the chicken was unreal, just perfect. Outside was crunchy and inside was juicy and perfectly cooked. Now, despite being absolutely one of the best Chicken Parms I've ever had, I was only able to eat about 1/3 of this plate. It was SO much food l but I was excited to take it home. My girls mom didn't get Chicken Marsala til a bit after we all started eating, and when it finally came out it looked smelled awesome. After a little allergy scare ( totally cleared up and no issues on either end) we decided to grab desserts to go (which ended up being incredible as well much later) Rachel and the chef that we met were absolute legends and despite a couple little oversights (early pizzas and late entree) I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm sad I didn't get any photos but everything was too great to waste time on a phone. Thanks Nittolos, we'll be back soon!

The daily menu was crammed with the best local foods and in August when we visited that meant cherries, luscious vine ripened tomatoes, blueberries and more. In fact I hard a hard time narrowing down even the 4 salads as they all sounded fantastic as did the 10 appetizers. In the end we opted to share some things starting with the light crab "puffs" (really golf-ball-sized crab/rice cakes) which were delicious although a bit light on the accompanying sauce. Next we savored the small summer salad made with juicy dark purple tomatoes, fresh basil and slivers of mozzarella. Our entree was the pecan crusted white fish that was also nicely prepared. Note they add a somewhat outrageous charge for a split plate-around $16, so our fish ended up costing $66! For dessert we chose the turtle sundae festooned with crunchy toasted pecans and a house made caramel sauce. There's a nice wine list too. Service here was top notch with constantly filled water glasses and a very professional staff. Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries!
