I was with this company for quite a few years. Recently I noticed a withdrawal from my account for more than what I thought it should be. I called to ask why and was told because my grass was so long on the first cut they had to add a surcharge. So I said it would have been nice if they told me they were going to do that. I said I would like the money back. So they sent me an email letting me know that 2 months ago they sent an email that they MIGHT have to add a surcharge on my first mowing. Ok, so I realized it was my mistake. I have STML and had forgotten. I wasn't even given a chance to apologize for my mistake. Instead, at the end of their email, they told me that they would no longer mow my lawn. Who does that? Also last year I asked how much it would cost to remove/kill the blackberry vines on my bank by the lake. I made it very very clear I just wanted to have the vines removed. So I was told they could take care of the whole bank for $600. All they did was weed eat it and a few weeks later the vines were growing back. So I called them again and said that all I wanted were the vines gone. They did come back out and used poison to kill them very close to the lake. If that was what I thought could be done, I would have done it myself. But I believed that poison was not allowed. So I wasted $600. Anyway I have read many bad reviews about their customer service in the last few days so not having them anymore is blessing in disguise. I called this company for a quote on general fall cleanup. What a shock!!!! My yard has been maintained but needed a trim up. Highest quote I have EVER received was $600 and that's when it really needed work. After picking myself up from the ground when I heard the quote I shock my head and laughed him off my property.. I would highly advise against using North County Lawn Care for any irrigation services. They have a poor business ethic and do not support their work. I paid for my elderly mother's irrigation system to be blown out at the end of the 2020 season. They did a poor job causing the backflow to split behind both valves. Anybody who has dealt with irrigation backflows is aware that these valves must be left in a half cocked position to allow for expansion. When I came to pressurize the system at the beginning of the 2021 season I found their service technician left the valve in a fully open position when the service was completed. This caused water to be trapped behind the valves and the expansion caused irreparable damage to a brand new backflow with less than a seasons use. Subsequently, I had to have the backflow replaced at an additional cost. When my mother sent North County Lawncare pictures of the damaged backflow they claimed that the backflow and cold weather was to blame for the damage. Their abbreviated response follows: "I have reviewed the images with our irrigation expert and unfortunately we can not take responsibility for the valve damage. The reason is that the main valve is not blown out in both directions. The air pressure is applied in one direction and therefore a bit of water is unavoidable on this valve. Most likely the crack happened due to the cold causing expansion and contraction and it's an occasional occurrence" I live in a far colder climate that Washington and my backflow hasn't failed once. The reason my mother's failed is because they didn't know how to perform the service correctly. This company is taking advantage of a situation instead of making it their business to support their customer service and work ethic. read more

Above and beyond - that's the short of it. During the height of the busy season I requested a quote for installing a new front yard for our newly-constructed home. The front yard portion is close to 15,000 sf, so not a small job. Not only was their price very competitive to the other bids we received, but they agreed to a small fee increase for a "rush" job. Their crew came out in the evening and VERY early morning to get the job done within a few days. They worked the odd hours so as to not affect service to their other clients who were already scheduled. Not only that, but they did an outstanding job of completely transforming our front yard. Their bid was a little short on the amount of dirt we needed, so they added another 20 yards free of cost instead of just shortening the area we wanted installed. Outstanding. As a business owner myself, I know the value of maintaining good client relationships. They worked very hard to keep their current clients happy, as well as working extra hours in order to gain a new client. That's how you run a good business model. Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding - we will return for all our lawn care services. I highly recommend to anyone reading this to get at least 3 bids, but make sure you factor-in the quality and level of service you will receive. read more

Contrary to other one star reviews, we have had simply fantastic service. Yes, their prices may be a bit more, but we have found out that you get what you pay for, especially in Blaine. Kevin and NCLC were instrumental in getting everything perfect for our move in during our quest from CA. Kevin stepped up and assisted us with many other contractors, keeping them honest and on the ball to complete things the right way. He came through with his promises in bringing the dead grass back to life and now we have a beautiful lawn and well maintained flower beds to show for it. North County Lawn Care cut a bunch of cedar limbs in front of my carport piling limbs against my new car. When confronted the Supervisor said they bid the job for our condos at 140 hours and we're close to exceeding 300. When the limbs were removed I had scratches up and down my car requiring a new paint job and reapplication of ecopro seal. They didn't want to run it through their insurance. They've since forced me to have no other option but to claim it on my prrsonal insurance. Don't risk hiring these people! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED read more
