The sushi from this place is top notch! My friends and I have ordered from here a few times, but I've never actually gone in person, so I can't comment on the service or ambiance. If you're going to order for a group, definitely go with one of the platters, which always seems to end up being a better deal. I've always been happy with the quality and freshness of the fish. Would happily recommend!

Came here for a lobster roll under $20 and got one with chowder as part of a special! I can see why it was so inexpensive since it's really tiny, but it was a good size for me especially because I got an eel avocado roll as well. Everything was good and the lobster roll was served cold. This is a hole in the wall type of place so don't expect to dine in you're gonna grab and go with some decently quick service! This place gets the job done, no frills, though the sushi is also pretty small.

Very fresh and great prices! Their lunch special Monday-Friday (open-3pm I believe) was incredible - 2 Simple Rolls and 2 sides for $17, + $3 to add Miso Soup. Can't beat it! the ambience itself isn't much, but no complaints with our food! Some of the best miso soup I've had. Lovedddd the Seaweed Salad. Take out only - we enjoyed our lunch in Cherry Park a few blocks down.

A small takeout sushi place right in the North End. The quality is great, and surprisingly the price is also great, despite being in the city. They also don't pack the sushi with rice. I ordered salmon lover and spicy girl roll: both dishes being fantastic, especially the spicy girl roll. I ordered in person and they finished my order within 5-10 minutes, even with an order ahead of mine. Service was fast and efficient. There are a few steps getting down to the place. They also serve a lobster roll (and I've heard good things about it) that I will have to try next time.

Talk about hidden gem for a lobster roll and some clam chowder. First, if you're over 5'5 you might just miss the door all together, second, they serve sushi mainly and the lobster roll is minimally advertised. Well for $27 you get a cold lobster roll and clam chowder and let me tell you, both were PHENOMENAL. Super tender lobster (though the roll is small so be prepared), perfect toast on the bun and a subtle light mayo coating. Top that all up with some solid clam chowder and it's a perfect lunch. Service took about 10 minutes and there is nowhere to wait inside so you have to stroll around which just is never an issue in north end. For the value and the taste I really don't think you can get a better every day roll without going bankrupt. Will absolutely come agaib

I don't know if I was just unlucky today but I got food poisoning after eating the Mt. Fuji roll and one of the specials. :( there are a lot of good reviews so I'm hoping that it was just a rare experience. They were nice behind the counter, accept credit card and it's takeout only.

Quaint and charming little sushi spot that offers only takeout sushi. With the sushi being so fresh and top grade, I'm surprised at how cheap it is! There are some great and cheap sushi combos, the Maki Trio being one of them. Most places pack sushi rolls with a lot of rice but this isn't the case with North End Fish Market. While the rolls itself are a little smaller than what I'm used it, it's still a great bang for your buck. I also ordered a Spicy Salmon roll but instead got a Salmon and Avocado wrong. Small mistake there but still very delicious. The handroll was stuffed and I got a lot of fish for just one handroll. Will definitely be ordering again in the near future!

I already took a few bites.

I've been coming to this sushi spot for over five years, and it never disappoints. The quality is consistently excellent--fresh fish, beautifully prepared rolls, and flavors that keep me coming back every time. The staff is always welcoming and attentive, making you feel like a valued regular, not just another customer. Only for ordering takeout. This place has truly become my go-to sushi spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great sushi and reliable service.

Very fresh and good quality and quantity. Very friendly, highly recommend . I'm a very picky fish eater, I abandoned my next door tori sushi for north end fish and sushi, it definitely worth the trip.

FOOD: I got the Lady In Red and the Spicy Tuna roll for delivery. Both were great quality, taste, and price! I can't comment on the service or ambiance since this was a delivery order, but I can't wait to go back and try out more of their menu.

Lobster Roll Sandwich - really good. Cold lobster on a buttery, toasted roll

North End is a really small shop that doesn't stand out much in appearance but really delivers in food quality and service. LOBSTER ROLL I tried 3 of Boston's top ranked lobster rolls and North End's ended up being my favorite. I was a bit surprised that this was my favorite since I favor hot lobster. The interesting thing was that the 3 rolls I tried varied in both size and price quite drastically. I'd describe North End's lobster roll as medium sized. At $18, North End's lobster roll was easily the best value of the lobster rolls I saw in town. The lobster roll here has great balance. The cold lobster tastes great and the toasted bread works perfectly together. I loved the structure of the roll. It all held together till my last bite. Visually, it wasn't the greatest. Since all food is take out here, the rolls are just wrapped up and handed to you in a bag. SERVICE Friendly, welcoming people.

The best and most humble sushi spot in all of Boston! Tucked away in the heart of the North End is this delicious underground sushi basement! The prices are so reasonable and the quality is fantastic. It is only takeout, so my girlfriend and I took it back to hers. Can't wait for my next visit to Boston, this spot was incredible

Hidden behind a modest entrance, North End Fish Market is a little takeout spot that lets the food shine. We put their lobster roll to the test against Hook & Co.--and to our surprise, this one won. Smaller but packed with fresh, tender lobster, it was a steal for the price. The clam chowder was rich and the food was made quick to order!

My mom was hungry so we opted to get a bowl of chowder to go and we put our name down at the restaurant next door who was UBER dog friendly and even gave my girl a dog bone when we checked in, and lots of pets. Anyways the clam chowder should be renamed to dill chowder because dang, why so much! And hardly any clam, mostly potatoes. Not a fan of the policy or the chowder, would not recommend

Unless you wanna wait an hour or so, it's best to arrive 30min before they open to beat the rush. It's incredibly cramped and rushed inside, and you may need to share a table with others if you're a smaller party. Food is quite pricey but well worth it. We ordered the oysters (they've got a variety so you can choose), clam chowder, lobster roll, cioppino, and johnnycake. Oysters were fine, but the clam chowder was absolutely dismal. Not sure what happened, especially since it's so highly rated, but it was extremely watery and almost completely unseasoned. It could've definitely used salt at the very least. If I didn't know it was from Neptune, I'd have given it a 2/10. To my relief, the lobster roll was the total opposite. Succulent, juicy, heavenly. It was like being in Maine. The cioppino was also very good. The Johnnycake was an interesting but fun way to end the meal. It's a sweet pancake-like cornmeal covered in a syrupy glaze and topped with smoked bluefish paste, crème fraiche and caviar. I've never had anything like it. Nothing was super overpriced, but I personally prefer next door (Paulini's), which is much cheaper and while it isn't as good, it also doesn't require waiting in an hour in line. However, I think Neptune's is definitely worth a try as long as you're willing to wait in line.

By the time she came back we were running horribly late on time. The pasta was good, but the place smelled like a smoky kitchen. She was curt with us throughout the dinner. Then, these very loud singers came in and started serenading all of us when we were trying to have a relaxing dinner. Like plug your ears loud. This year, I finally made it -- and it absolutely did not disappoint. I had a phenomenal time trying their lobster roll. The lobster chunks inside were thick, juicy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The butter was so good, and since the roll was served warm, it was honestly perfect for the chilly Boston weather that day. It warmed me right up. I will say, it is definitely a little pricey, especially coming from out of town where I'm not used to spending that kind of money on what is technically "just a sandwich," but honestly, it was 100% worth it. It was a phenomenal lobster roll, and I would absolutely go back and order another one.
