I found this moving company for a friend, and they seriously came through for us last weekend. They were able to help last-minute, had a tight time window, and still managed to move my friend down four flights of stairs without slowing down or complaining once. That alone deserves major credit. Jessica, Mike , and the crew were professional, fast, and extremely respectful of his belongings. Even under pressure and on a limited schedule, they stayed organized, calm, and focused the entire time. Moving is stressful -- especially when it's last minute and involves stairs -- but they handled it like pros and made the whole situation feel manageable. We had a side table damaged, and she told me that there was no way her folks could have done that and we did not see it before the movers left. We just moved today and I couldn't recommend them more. We moved from a second story two bedroom apartment and they carried our heavy furniture down the stairs quicker than I carried a box of pillows lol. The value is amazing! No hidden fees, which is is actually what prevented us from using another moving company. They were so transparent about the pricing and it was exactly what they estimated it to be. They really didn't waste a single minute and we're as quick as you possibly could be, but still took the time to wrap and protect all of our furniture. Had a Cuisinart waffle maker. It was in good condition. They stuck it in a box and when I try to talk to the owner about it, she's talking about gluing it and then after talking to the person who was here there's kind of some kind of debate going on who was cussing at who I wasn't there I don't know, but when I get home, I can take a look at what happened to Sunday breakfast from now on. I used North Florida Movers recently and it was such a great experience! They brought two guys and they were so efficient and pleasant to work with. They wrap up delicate items like the TV and use wrap for dressers. I had a very heavy dresser to go upstairs and Trevor figured out how to get it up without taking out the drawers. The rates are very affordable and Jessica in the office is very helpful with transparency, letting you know all the fees upfront. I was able to move my whole apartment in under 2.5 hours. I didn't use this company for a move. I was referred to them by someone and called to schedule a move after speaking with the wife (owner) two days prior. The lady was rude and unprofessional. I was trying to explain to her what I needed for my move and also refresh her memory of our previous conversation. She was talking over me several times, so I just hushed and let her talk for 2-3 minutes (uninterrupted) before letting her know I appreciated her time but I'll shop around for another company. I was very pleased with our experience with this company. The price was very reasonable and the all crew members were courteous and respectful of property. The biggest tip I can give anyone doing a local move is do as much packing as you can and be prepared on moving day. In the long run this saves you money since you are paying an hourly rate. Our initial estimate was 7-8 hours but we were able to cut 2 hours off that by moving many of the lighter and smaller items ourselves. Granted, it took several car trips. I have worked with North Florida Movers for my last two moves. Each move they were incredibly careful with all of my belongings, taking the time to wrap all of my furniture and carefully carry it out and onto the moving truck. During my most recent move not only did they wrap all of my furniture carefully, but they alerted me if any of the legs of my furniture were loose before moving and tightened them for me! They wrapped the front door frame with padding to make sure it didn't get dinged along the way. They really were careful! None of all belongings arrived to our new home damaged in anyway, even our delicate glass survived! They really made us feel like they cared. North Florida Movers came to my house to quote me the cost to move from Orange Park to Fleming Island. The estimate ranged from 650-750. When the movers arrived on moving day the truck seemed too small for my 4 bedroom house. I asked if they could fit everything in that truck they said they'll need to look inside the house. After a quick review they informed me two trips would be necessary. As they were packing I asked if they had wardrobe boxes for the hanging clothes in my closet as I was informed they would by the sales manger. They said they did not and it was not indicated on the ticket. Later on that day after the box truck was loaded for the second time I noticed a lot of items were still left at the house (I had also stuffed my truck with items on both trips). After loading up as much in my truck as I could I met the movers again at the house where I was moving. Upon completion of unloading items the lead person handed me a bill of $1280 dollars (well above the 650-750) I was quoted. When I asked why it was so much more he said it was an hourly rate. I told him I was not going to pay almost double what I was quoted. He got me on the phone with the sales manager who was completely unprofessional and she said they were going to keep my TV if I didnt pay, she said the cost was double because I insisted on two trips in lieu of one which is incorrect(what do I gain with two trips?). After a long unprofessional discussion with the sales manager and owner I decided to pay $900 if they returned my TV undamaged. After I paid, the mover purposely placed the TV on the bumper of the truck and sped off shattering the TV when it hit the concrete. The whole event was witness by Piano movers (I have their information as they affirmed what they saw was unacceptable and unprofessional), my Realtor, and in-laws. When I called the sales manager back asking for them to reimburse me for the TV she began swearing at me and became completely irate. I had her on speaker phone with all parties listening as witnesses. The sales manager informed me that I signed a document that said there was no damage. I explained, I signed that before my TV purposely destroyed and contracts are executed on the presumption of good faith. I also asked for a price adjustment in which she refused. I also filed a formal report with Clay Sheriff's Office regarding the event. In closing, I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior and blatant intent to destroy customer's property. The last sequence of events was witnessed by multiple third parties which can collaborate the events that transpired. WARNING! ! If you hire this company, you run the risk of being stolen from. The movers, Michael and Gabriel stole $1600 out of my moms dresser. When we called Jessica to discuss this issue, she blamed my mom for keeping cash in a dresser. She was so unprofessional and rude. My father passed away on 5/14 and that was the last $1600 to his name and was supposed to help my mom through that transition. North Florida movers are not taking accountability for this but that's okay because justice will be served. JSO is involved and I have a lawyer ready to represent my mother. In my 20+ years of moving every 2-3 years due to my time in the military and as a government contractor this move was by far the worst movers hired. They came to the house to complete a estimate after which they provided a price with the following Statement of Work (Your full service move will include 3 professional movers, a 26ft truck, assembly and disassembly of all furniture, shrink wrap of all dressers, couches or any furniture that needs to be held together and moving blankets to protect all furniture at no extra cost. We will also use a door cover, door jam covers and a rug runner to protect your floor and your door. We are licensed through the state of Florida and DOT, we are also fully insured). Loading the truck went fine with exception with the entertainment center being damaged (top separated and not fixed). Unloading, only 2 movers showed, I asked about a 3rd as I was told they would hire a local. Was told by the one of the guys "we don't do that". Ok so to start off I was offered a service, that they never intended to provide. Then showing them the bed frames that need to be assembled they said they don't do that either as they were new and they did not disassemble them. I purchased new frames to speed the process up and we assembled most of our own items and just asked for help.. I called the main office and I believe I spoke to Jessica, she comes off rude tell me stories about how I declined the 3rd mover as I "did not want strangers in the house" .. I am thinking what?!, it is not like I know these people that are in my house now and I asked about the assemble as stated in the quote.. Another wild story that I declined that service too. Who does that?! and yet they provide a quote listing " assembly and disassembly of ALL furniture" even after I supposedly declined it. Complete fraud, provided a SOW (statement of work) only did 1/2 of the services quoted was provided but I paid full price.. To make matters worse, while unpacking I find that my office chair is damaged beyond use. Seems they must have placed something heavy on it and blew the center piston. While I wish I could recommend this company, I cannot. The 3 guys that came to move my items were professional and very efficient. I had no issues with them at any point. My issue is with the money that is owed to me. The company knew I was a military veteran (disabled vet and retired) from the outset. I told the estimator this when he came. They forgot to do the discount for military on the final bill. Once it was discovered a check for the difference was apparently mailed. It never came. After many phone calls the check has still never made it's way. I am literally 10 minutes away from their office. This has been on going since 5/22/2020. We have given up on trying. While it is not a ton of money, I am still owed this money. If you say you do a military discount then you need to provide the discount. As of today, 7/21/2020 nothing has come. The movers were 1.5 hours late outside of the 2 hour window. I asked the owner the day before did they have availability to do a move the next day. She said yes. We spoke several times and I asked for a discount on the three hour minimum. She told me that she had already offered a 5% disc (18.00) and was giving me a third guy to get the job done faster once they got there. I told her the situation and that I was pressed for time and also that i had drove from SC to Jacksonville, FL (which she already knew). She stated that she had already apologized several times and had no control over the guys running over on another job and that she was doing me a favor by fitting me in last minute. First off instead of deflecting, accept responsibility and brush up on Customer service. I get it! Things happen! But to try and defend your business or lack there of is a poor excuse. None of this was my fault because I asked could you do it and you said yes. PERIOD! I asked if you had availability. You never indicated you were making a concession for me or set the expectation that this could happen prior hand. To make matters worse she lied because only two guys showed up. WHERE WAS THE THIRD GUY? So you made a promise that was not honored. So was it really far fetch for me to ask for a discount on a 3 hour minimum service when it didnt even take them an hour to load and unload a few items. I guess the the three hour minimum was including the time I had to wait. Needless to say once the guys showed and I had to ASK them to wrap the furniture (duh) they did a great job loading and unloading. Owner needs to take some customer service business classes. Because I had a right to be upset. After the payment, she basically said your receipt is in your email and hung up. Not another apology or appreciation for my what I dealt with. The lateness, I can deal with now, because things worked out. But she was honestly the worst part of the experience and for that alone I would not refuse the service.
