From start to finish the appointment was efficient and on time, the staff were caring and extremely competent and dentist who took care of my hygiene issue was diligent in explaining what it was that I needed and more importantly why the procedure was necessary. Today I had an appointment at 10:00 for a cleaning. They had emailed me several times & texted me several times to remind me of my upcoming appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early. At 10:25 I asked if it was going to much longer wait. I was told they had an emergency & trying to Switch rooms. I can understand an emergency, but should of been told, about the delay, or called & moved my appointment Later. It was 10:30, & was told it would be soon. I left told them this was unacceptable especially since this happened before there. I will find another dentist to go to. read more

I am leaving 3 stars because I was a happy patient for 10+ years. Recently, the original dentist left due to covid. Which I understand, but I wasn't notified by ANYONE in the office. The new dentist was suddenly unhappy with a crown the original dentist had done (although nothing was wrong, he just didn't like how it sat) and wanted me to make an appt that would be over $1,000 out of pocket. I opted for the fillings he said needed to be done 'ASAP'. He created a gap in my front two teeth, filed them down, and now I am going to have to get Invisalign bc my teeth are shifting bc of how much he filed off. I have spent over 24 hours total crying over this and there's nothing I can do but warn others. Dr. Bisig is very very missed and I hope one day she returns to help fix the practice this man is going to ruin. read more

I wanted to have a cavity looked at since it started bothering me recently and was told by the dentist that I needed a $1500 root canal. It was a tiny cavity that I could hardly tell it was there unless I bit down on something in just the right spot. So I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist in town and this dentist told me that all I needed was a simple filling. I was in and out in an hour and saved $1200. I would be cautious of any recommendation this doctor gives you and definitely get a second opinion if they seem to be selling you something you don't require. read more

I would give them a minus 10 if I could. Run, do not walk, run as fast as you can. They put up a great front but they lie and charge you for work that is not needed. They told me I needed a deep cleaning and said it would only take 1.5 hours at the cost of $1400.00. After it was all done, it wasn't anything else other then a regular cleaning. Unfortunately, I took them at their word, had the work done, paid for it, then I researched it and got another opinion. The two other dentist said that I did not need a deep clean, nor did give me a deep cleaning. This process is broken up into two visits and takes 2 plus hours per visit, I would have also been in some pain. After sharing this experience with friends a few of them told me their horror stories with these crooks/dentist. RUN ... DO NOT USE this dentist practice, they ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY. Interesting enough, I'm seeing a review with the same complaint as me. Needed fillings and ended up with a filed gap between my previously perfectly straight gap-free teeth. After looking at pictures from before and after it is extremely obvious. I have long had an aversion to dentists because of claustrophobia issues. One of my best friends growing up became a dentist and knew of my 'issues' and gave me care one would expect from a lifelong friend. However, I needed a dentist locally as my friend was two and a half hours away. Initially, I chose 'North Georgia Smiles, because of their location. Dr. Seth Gibree listened to my concerns and was amazing...I found my new dentist. Fast forward a few years and Dr. Jennifer Bisig arrives and I think, "Oh no, now I have to start all over." Well, Dr. Bisig was very attentive, listened to my concerns and, in short, is incredible ! Since she became my dentist, because of a sports injury and automobile accident, I have had a lot of work done and she really made me feel comfortable and it was obvious to me her concern was genuine. I received a coupon in mailbox and happily scheduled appt. It turned out to be a gimmick! They took a ton of X-rays and then gave me an estimate to have my teeth cleaned for $2000!!!!! I left without them not cleaning my teeth! Very disappointing! The hygienist and dentist were very nice but the coordinator missed her calling as a used car salesman! I askedcouldn't we just do a regular cleaning but was told no you have to have the deep cleaning on the side! So for $50. I got extays and a written estimate I am certain that I do need what they said but I do not have that kind of money. So the rest of my teeth was not cleaned. read more

Worst place ever! This is a scam. They offered a $59 cleaning special, however they tried saying that since they needed to clean deeper on a tooth, that it would be $1083. I asked if it would take more time; they said no. Same amount of time as a regular cleaning. They could not justify the 20x the cost for the exact same time. They sent text messages every day for 8 days, emails, and calls for appointment reminders. Spamming me "remember to show up early as a new patient". I was even text 4pm the day before as yet another appointment reminder to an appointment THEY MADE. I go WAY out of my schedule and around work to make it there. Early and everything. Only to have them say they didn't hear back so they cancelled the appointment. They literally text as an appointment reminder an hour before they closed the day before....I'm just assuming I dodged a bullet with this and will go somewhere else. read more

I don't know about the actual competency, but they definitely tried to scam me. I had not seen a dentist in about 18, months, they recommended work for almost $2k and that was only for cleaning, no other work was included, granted my teeth were in need. I got a second opinion and the cleaning cost me under $600, plus just over $200 for a filling. Horrible Experience! Just moved to GA and their location was convenient from my home. Front office reviewed my dental coverage before providing service to myself and my family. They told me that they called my insurance provider (a national name brand carrier) and that there would be no charge for a standard cleaning and X-Rays. After service was provided they said that the insurance carrier didn't pay them the full amount they submitted so they sent me an exorbitant bill for the difference. Apparently if they feel they're not reimbursed enough they'll bill you for whatever they want. What a bunch of Con-artists considering we chose them after they reviewed our coverage. read more

I would give this practice a 0 if it was a choice. My husband and I are new to the area and needed a dental checkup and simple cleaning. We are both cancer patients and have extension radiation to the head and neck areas, so we do not get dental xrays. This practice refused to give us an exam and cleaning unless we agreed to a full set of xrays, panaramic views included, not just bite wings. It's all about jacking up the bill at the practice - they have no concern for your views on dental radiation, which has been linke to thyroid cancer. read more

Well after reading all of these negative reviews I am SHOCKED at the feedback! This is not at all what I have experienced with this Dentist. My husband and I started coming here when we relocated to the area. We really enjoy the clean environment and the really great customer service that we receive each and every single time we visit! We have never had an issue with with feeling pushed to get work done or bullied to do anything we didn't want to do. I actually thought to myself the last visit(2weeks ago) that this office must be under a "yes policy" to any and all customer service. That this is in no way a "no policy" business. What I mean is is that they are extremely accommodating and very easy to work with and are truly people who show absolute pride in their work and in their willingness to make you feel happy,no matter what the cost(and not to the consumers bill, to theirs)! I'm really not sure how or even why these other reviews are legit, but it needs to be said that myself and my husband really enjoy the staff and especially Dr. Bisvig! I'm one of those folks who loathes going to the dentist and it's not because I fear pain. I literally used to have anxiety attacks before (during) appointments because my teeth are a mess and I fear judgement as well as not being able to afford the care I need. North Georgia Smiles has been a God send. I've only seen Dr. Bisig, aside from 2 hygienists, and she completely puts me at ease every time. EVERY. TIME. That's saying something! I'm a big picture girl. I like to know exactly what needs to be done and exactly how much it will cost. I've yet to pay more for a service than my agreed upon treatment plan lists. No surprises, which is crucial for a single income family. Thankfully, I haven't had to make any emergency appointments/walk in visits but each time I've requested timely appointments I've gotten them. NGS is our go-to for family dentistry. Before becoming a patient of Dr. Bisig's I had avoided the dentist for about 4 years. Just enough time to wreak havoc on my mouth. She's done a wonderful job of offering affordable care and, equally as important, piece of mind. read more

Won't be using their services ever again!!! They do not stand behind their work and are not truthful by any means. Spent over $20,000 with this group about two years when the other day a crown that they had put in came out. Called and was able to see the dentist right away, a dentist other than the original. On the way out ask for the bill and was told there was no charge. One week later a bill arrives in the mail Called to inquire why there was a bill when the dentist said there was no charge, and got the run around. We're not so upset at the bill as we are about the lie from the dentist as well as the group not standing behind their work or their word. Sadly, I had a worst experience ever. I went there to get a teeth cleaning with a special offer of $59 which inluded x-ray check up and cleaning. It took them 1hour 30 minutes to check up my teeth and make xrays. When all was over I thought finally they would start cleaning. But to my great surprise doctor came and said that said that they would not do cleaning as they think my gum may need some treatments and offered their other paid procedures. After I insisted that I came here for cleaning they quickly did a 5 min polishing. Basically they charged me for the check up procedures (that I did not need at all) to find out any tooth issue on the based of what they could offer me other paid procedures! I went to them for their "initial cleaning" special because I didn't have dental coverage at the time. To be completely honest the experience was good, they were all very nice and understanding that I had to have my 6 month old with me. At the end they said I needed to have a "treatment plan" which included filling multiple cavities and crown on one possibly two teeth, for the tune of $8k. I didn't have $8k to spare and was in no pain at all so I just decided to wait and not take out the care credit they pushed so hard. I have been worried about my teeth since and finally got dental coverage. I went to my first cleaning at one of the best dental practices in the county only to be told I HAVE GREAT TEETH! I have absolutely no cavities and am honestly furious that this company tried to take me for $8k. I came here to see if anyone had a similar experience and sure enough there are multiple reviews of the same tone. It is utterly pathetic that this is legal and running business. read more

Both my husband and I went to this dentist because they were recommended by our primary care doctor. We were so disappointed! We both were to have a cleaning and general checkup. I had mine and had my teeth cleaned, but my husband was advised to have a very expensive gum treatment. He chose not to at that time. When we left the office my husband said he never even had his teeth cleaned. All they did was try to convince him to have this treatment and neglected to clean his teeth. We paid in advance because we were required to do so. Our dental plan also paid and, after two years I remembered that we had a refund due so I called to request it as I needed the large sum immediately. I was told it would take a few months for the refund to come. What? You have held my money for two years and now I still have to wait to get it back? I said to ask the doctor to just write a check and sign it. It became quite an argument. They said the practice was owned by a corporation in Arizona and approval had to come from there and that took time. What a way to run a practice! I found out that I have several cavities that SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. This dentist NEVER told me I had cavities. They referred me to a dentist to put in an implant. That is all! No one ever mentioned cavities that needed filling. Besides having neglected serious issues, this dental practice won't do a thing unless you pay first even if you have dental insurance, then they keep your money for years and give you the run around when you want a refund. Businesses are obligated to refund money after approximately 60 days if you have a credit on your account. Their accountant sure wasn't keeping an eye on their patients' credit balances! My wife had a very bad experience with the hygienists here. She initally had one and she was not very polite and changed to a different one. She treated her really bad.she had a stiff lower lip issue on which she had no control. So she always offers to hold it for them to work on her. She said that would not help her and continued with her cleaning and constantly hurting her. she could feel that she was mad at her and trying to take her anger on her. she was in tears and tried her best to control. When she came home and could not control any more and cried as she hurt her at various locations and it was hurting really bad. Please do not go to this practice. They pretty much torture you. The doctors are nice and polite, but not all the hygenists with whom you spend most of the time of your visit. read more

We moved to the area and needed a new dentist. My father was a dentist so I know more than the average person regarding dental care. After my cleaning, I was handed a long list of all of the "work" they recommended. I needed to have all of my fillings replaced immediately and a crown. What?! I was told the tooth that needed the crown actually had "mush" under the filling because my tooth had discolored. Long story short - I got a second opinion and was told "There is nothing wrong with that tooth! It is perfectly healthy!" I realize they need to pay for all of the television sets in each room but not at the expense of their patient's health. I would also like to remind North GA Smiles that although some people may have insurance, having to pay $500 plus for 50% of a crown is still hard for some of us. So I see I am adding just another story of how this practice makes it clear they're seeking profit at the expense of your oral and dental health. I went with one of their 60$ intro cleaning coupons (the kiss of death) and I told them both my kids needed to forgo xrays since they had them within the last six months. I even had one set pulled up on my phone to show them. Basically less work for their lazy selves. They told me that no other xrays will do from anyone else because they have to be ...get this....'diagnostic' xrays. And only their precious xrays are diagnostic. How stupid do they think people are?? First off insisting on more radiation exposure too soon from the last xrays so they can have their special little xrays (most likely to scam you) is against pediatric dental recommendations. The flippant woman who informed me of this baloney told me "the doctor isn't being a jerk or anything, it's for her license." I had not even argued or said anything before she threw that one out there showing me she was used to having to argue their way. Red flag. Furthermore EVERY xray is a diagnostic xray. There is no xray equipment even manufactured without the intent of being diagnostic. The fact they would assume a person is so stupid as to swallow such absolute ridiculous hype was red flag two and I walked right out before they could do a thing to my kids. Like you I had researched this clinic before I took advantage of the coupon I rec'd in the mail for a 60 cleaning. ANd I saw some negative reviews, but I dismissed them. DON'T DISMISS THEM! I went to north georgia smiles and was very unhappy with the visit. The office staff was inviting and the office was well decorated. The tech took me back and began to take what amounted to over 15 x rays of my mouth, which seemed excessive. I routinely get my teeth cleaned, but being new to the area we were looking for a new provider. Then she looked in my mouth the dentist came in (bisig), she talked for a little while. They took all my xrays and blew them up on a 40 inch flat screen three feet away from my face. A fly from this distance would have looked like godzilla. I felt like i was being scared into believing what they were showing me were serious issues. The dentist left then I was hit with a bill for nearly 3000 dollars to fix that they had found. The tech asked me what i would like to move fwd with, I said nothing I came to get my teeth cleaned and I need time to review this and possibly get a second opinion. She then asked me why I need a second opinion and don;t i trust their recommendations. That raised huge flags for me, at that point it had been nearly 2 hours and I just wanted to leave and have my teeth cleaned. She then told me that they would not be able to clean my teeth I needed a deeper clean which would be nearly 400. At that point i had, had it. I just wanted out. I felt like it was a bait and switch, no where on the original offer did it say cleaning was conditional upon exam findings. I expressed my feeling that the office did not meet my expectation to the staff upon paying and leaving, the inviting staff i met on the way in had changed to one who seemed as though they could care less. I have since called and emailed the office requesting to speak with the dr and have not rec'd a call, it has been two weeks. So my husband and I have been going there for about 6 months. I wanted to try this practice because they offered a coupon for a dollar whitening system. My first visit was a great one. i received the trays and my regular cleaning and X-rays. They told me that I had a lot of fillings, which should have been red flag number one because I take good care of my teeth. i went home and felt impressed with their staff and the good deal of the teeth whitening trays. At my first appointment for first of the many fillings, they made me pay 300 dollars, which was a lot for us considering we have dental insurance. A few weeks later we received a bill from them saying we owed another 300. I couldn't believe it. We have insurance. I called the office and insurance company and both said that the visit was upgraded to a more expensive procedure. Apparently this office only does the white fillings because they say that no one does the metal ones anymore. They even made fun of my husbands metal fillings and wanted to replace them. After speaking with another dentist office I discovered that the metal fillings are fine, they just like charging people more. I should have known that when the female dentist came out wearing her designer sunglasses and purse, talking about all organic food that this place is geared for people outside of my income range. Also, when we received a bill they actually had a charge for a follow-up phone call. I have never seen that. We will not be returning ever again. read more
