For breakfast, there is actually a menu where you get to choose from quite a few choices which is very rare in a b&b. Everything was delicious. He also provides snacks and wine every day in the late afternoon and there are always sweet treats like cookies and brownies available as well as coffee and teas. There is a small gift shop where they sell some Lakepoint Inn shirts, sweatshirts and mugs as well as bottles of wine. There are so many wonderful seating areas, all with views of the lake whether you want to sit in rocking chairs or comfy wicker chairs on the porch or at some bistro tables on the back patio or Adirondack chairs by the fire pit. As a free service he also offers hour long rides on his pontoon boat every morning (weather permitting), you just need to sign up. There are also kayaks and canoes available to use for free, you just need to sign a waiver. Scott is a gracious host and the Inn is wonderfully appointed, you lack for nothing. The only complaint I would have is that if you stay in the Vagabond Room, be aware that because it is on the ground floor and right beside the kitchen, you will hear people talking and the hustle and bustle of breakfast being prepared. Not a problem if you're an early riser at about 5:30. But the room was huge! And felt very luxurious with bookshelves and a seating area and fireplace. We will definitely be returning to this Inn!!!!!! I can't say enough great things! Oh, also the location is fantastic, you're near everything!

Most of the amenities described on Tripadvisor were unavailable during our visit. The public areas of the main house were closed, there was no apparent staff on-site, and the inn did not provide breakfast--complimentary or otherwise. Although our room had a large bathtub, we saw no spa, hot tub, or other spa facilities. Other advertised amenities were similarly disappointing. There was no daily linen service, and while fishing is available in the surrounding area, the farm's own "fishing" facility consisted of a small, algae-filled pond behind the barn. Unfortunately, the condition of our room was also a concern. It was shabby and dated, but more seriously, there was a strong odor of mold. The odor caused significant respiratory problems for my wife, ultimately forcing us to leave before the end of our stay. Haley Farm has some excellent--and clearly genuine--older reviews. I have no doubt that it was once a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately, our experience in August 2026 was very different. The property now appears partially abandoned, with closed public areas, unmaintained facilities, and services that are no longer being provided. Based on our experience, prospective guests should verify the current condition of the property and availability of advertised amenities before booking.

They are super friendly and knowledgable about the area, so don't be shy to ask them questions about recommended places to see it activities to do. The inn is equipped with a ton of amenities; such as free wine and beer, endless DVDs of current and newly released movies, and bikes if you choose to go exploring. Plus much more. They even do a bonfire on the weekend nights with smores!! The location is set back in a secluded area away from the main resort and areas of deep creek, so it's a nice refuge but still close enough to everything. Every aspect of our stay was surely above my expectations. I would definitely recommend for couples or anyone looking for a nice comfortable place to stay in deep creek.

Karen and Don gave us a walking tour of the area and showed us all kinds of interesting flora and fauna. We had such a wonderful time relaxing, hiking, and enjoying the scenery. They had great tips on what to do in the area. Don gives fly fishing lessons and is a patient teacher. We had a fantastic breakfast and lots of interesting conversation. I think Karen and Don know something about everything. It was great. I was sorry that we had to be on our way. The good news is this is a 4 seasons area. I'm sure it's beautiful in the fall and is a short drive to Wisp Resort for winter skiing.

The lodging has 4 pretty spacious rooms with bath/shower in the room and is very quite and very clean. My BF and I stayed here this past weekend and loved our stay. My BF did not have 4 wheel drive nor snow tires and got stuck trying to go up their driveway- so we called them and within 5 minutes Buz the owner came down and got our stuff drove it back up so I would stay warm and inside and drove back down with tons of supplies to help get his car to a safer area on the driveway. The two days we stayed with them they made sure if we needed rides they were right there to help. We stayed in the Spruce room which was cute and spacious- bathroom a bit on the small side. We love…read morethe accomodations and the innkeepers, but on our recent trip we chose to stay someplace else because we don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and feared getting stuck trying to drive out of their rather long snow-covered driveway. Both times we stayed last year we had to rely on the owners for a tow to the road. Mind you we have a front wheel drive Saab Aero, so you'd think the Swedes would have designed a car that could drive through snow, but the snows last year were just too deep and we weren't willing to chance it again. That being said, this was a great place to stay, especially the time we got upgraded to the bigger of their two rooms. (The third accomodation is a a cabin for families.) We've stayed in both rooms. The bigger room is expansive with vaulted ceilings, a king size bed, a full size kitchen, and a modular sofa; the smaller room has a small size refrigerator, microwave and a small table and chairs. Part of the fun of getting snowed in on our first visit when we got upgraded was getting to the grocery store after our skiing and then making a comfort food dinner of meatloaf, baked potatoes, and oven braised cabbage for ourselves as the snow fell. The meal became hearty skiers' lunches of meatloaf sandwiches the next day and the cabbage became soup. Breakfast is always the fun part of staying at a B&B and here it consists of a precooked meal wrapped in plastic and placed in the fridge to reheat in the microwave the next morning. It certainly tasted better than my description sounds. For anyone like us who likes to recreate in the state parks, the owners will provide you a Maryland state park pass for free park access during your stay. Waters Run is located on a beautiful piece of property way off the beaten path. If you've got the right vehicle, it's a great place to stay in the winter and any other time of the year I'm sure.

This was the best vacation we had been on Who would have known? I had never heard of it, and it was chosen because it was the same driving distance for all of us. We stayed in a short rental home but spend time at the Alpine Lodge. We swam in the indoor pool, rented canoes and also spent time at the lake/beach. It was so quiet and quaint. It was like Gatlinburg, but without the crowds. It is great for hiking. It's a hidden gem. Some might say the lodge was dated but it was clean. We liked that it was simple and quiet. It allowed quality family time.
