I'm excited to share that they offered two menus one of which was a fixed preview option. The options in the fix preview menu were only $40 for an appetizer, main and dessert. Our group of 11 experienced good service at the beginning, but it fizzled after drinks were served. The food was quite delightful and the ambiance was perfect for a birthday. Lively music played in the background. As for the food, salmon was served well done and we were not asked how we like it prepared therefore several people felt it was overcooked, Overall taste was good but you should request blackened if hoping for more flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the burrata salad. It's simple yet the drizzle elevates the tomato and bread effortlessly. Everyone was pleased. Back to the Ballantyne Bowl, a collection of entertainment and eateries, surrounded by apartments and condos and their residents. This has become a very popular attraction. Parking is all about and make certain that you capture the CR code and pay for your space. They will ticket you if you do not. There is a lot of parking space, so that is not problem. North Italia is kinda fancy and a little pricey, but you get value from the atmosphere, the menu, the food and drink and the service. We bring friends here as well as family. Server was Michael B. who knows the menu and how things are put together and took good care of us in pacing our orders. You will not order drinks and appetizers and your main dishes and get them all at once. Remind you server to do as Michael did: wait until the table is generally finished with one course before bringing out another. We had the grilled artichoke ($16) which was excellent with a light garlic dip. Went well with too expensive glasses of wine, which the pricing is just way out of bounds, management. Duckhorn SB was $20 per glass and the Super Tuscan was $22.50. In the future we will pass on the wine. Wife had the Chicken Pesto at $24, which she liked but got tired of the pesto taste. I had a super excellent Spicy Rigatoni Vodka at $24.50 which we both sort of went crazy for. It was so flavorful and the generous portion meant that we took some home. Highly recommend this pasta dish. Aside from the over-priced wines, you will get your money-worth on the food and service. Bring friends and family. Disappointed with this restaurant primarily because of the menu selection. I had reviewed the menu before hand so I had an idea of what was available. Susan M joined me for dinner Sat evening at 530p. We shared the calamari, WAY too much breading, diminished the flavor, just not good. Susan had the Lasagna, she said it was very good and good portion so she got a 'go' box. I had the salmon which was a nice size portion. Not too keen on the broccolini side but the flavor was good. The service from Heidy was good, the kitchen was slow getting our appetizer out, almost 10 minutes waiting on it. Our server came out THREE times to tell us the calamari would be out any minute. It WAS NOT! The BIG issue for me was parking. The 'go Ballantyne' website indicates Valet parking is available. It is NOT! Very misleading and frustrating when you see it in writing and then show up and learn it's not available. Then you have to find and figure out the parking situation. The Hostess at the restaurant said they HAD Valet at one time, but no longer. I also thought the ambience was NOT true to how it's described. Very LOUD, dudes in cut off jeans and tee shirts, kids running around unattended and parents chasing them. We had a group of ladies next to our 'two top' who were loud & cackaling through our entire meal. NOT what I call 'family hospitality'. This place is exactly the reason why I try to avoid the large FRANCHISE restaurants. Then the bill was so HIGH, way more than what is reasonable for what we had, OVER $80.00 not including tip, a diet coke was $4.75, they charge MORE for the exact same item on the dinner menu than the lunch menu, what's that about? This is a Franchise owned by the Cheese Cake Factory so in my opinion, they push 'the MARKETING' message rather than deliver on the substance which is real service, quality food and excellent atmosphere. Got to PAY that high rent at the BOWL. They gave me NO reason to return and I WON'T be returning and recommend you find other options for Italian. It's all hype and little substance. We had an amazing family dinner on Saturday evening. We had some Sauvignon blanc, Chianti, and Chardonnay to go with some focaccia bread to start. For entrees we had the chicken pesto, lasagna, bolognese, and penne al la vodka. All were amazing and plates were clean afterwards. Everyone raved about flavor, freshness, and perfect portion sizes. I was so excited to try this spot, but was disappointed in the end. The service was very slow, even for a Sunday evening. In a way, it seemed like we were forgotten, even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. The music was also extremely loud (I feel old for even saying that) and not fitting the "vibe" of the space. The food was also a miss for most of my family. My son got the grilled cheese, and it was cold cheese between a garlic roll. I'm not sure it ever touched the grill. My daughter got the kid's spaghetti, and the marina sauce was cloyingly sweet. She did not want to eat it, and I didn't blame her at all. My harvest salad was fine...I just wish there more of the toppings than 3-4 cubes of butternut squash. The pine nuts and chunks of cheese were delightful though. There is parallel parking and a big parking lot- some costs money but I noticed north Italia had a sign that they validate up to 3 hours. We had a 6:30 appointment on a Sunday for dinner and good thing we did because it was very busy, it didn't look like there was much room for walk ins, and there was really no place to stand and wait inside the restaurant. The restaraunt itself is trendy but also romantic in the perfect way! The service was amazing, loved our server and the food came out pretty quick! They have a full bar, including a mocktail menu. And they make all their syrups in house, so there was nothing artificial or any food dyes in them- this is the first place I found that has this since being pregnant- so amazing!! The mocktails were $10. We got the bread and olive oil appetizer and it was amazing! But the bread was toasted and had a little charcoal taste to it. I got the pesto chicken pasta, I thought it was good- my husband thought it was amazing! He got the meatball ragu and liked it too!
