Gosh we love this place and all the specials change thru the seasons always something new to try, my favorites are always the pizza and chciken marsla, crab cake are divine, really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a watermelon gazpacho for the summer specials right now that is so light and refreshing to start with. It definitely a must try if you haven't done so and kids eat free on Sundays. Great family restaurant

First time in and mixed reviews.. Started with a side salad which is just fine. I mean it's a salad. I went with the Chicken Marsala which wasn't bad. Chicken was hot, good sauce and mushrooms. As a side I decided to do the Risotto which wasn't great also not bad either. We also tried "Louis Favorite" pizza which was not good. The sauce was very bland and the pizza dough was also very bland. Now the crust was thin and crispy so positive there. Will probably skip this one in the future. It was just ok.

Food was delicious. Loved the crab cakes and crab stuffed mushrooms. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service.

Cast Iron Glazed Brussels Sprouts...don't do it.

The Cast Iron Glazed Brussel Sprouts were horrible. They were so mushy I couldn't even eat them. I've had cast iron glazed brussels sprouts elsewhere and they were firm with a little char. These taste like they had been soaking in balsamic vinegar all day. If you can mash a brussel sprout flat with a plastic fork it's trash. One star is generous. The pizza was good and a 4. The crust had just the right crisp, the ingredients were fresh, and the right amount of sauce.

The experience working with Capricci's for the rehearsal dinner was amazing. They were so accommodating and helpful. Very easy to work with. Made the day super special. Staff was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and meal. All hot and served timely. Delicious desserts. Consider your event or even just dinner at Caprriccis True Italian.

This place is lovely! We came with a large group and they were able to accommodate us with a reservation. Ambiance is relaxing and not overly fancy, but still nice feeling. Food was good all around and the staff was incredibly attentive and caring. I got the crab cakes and Brussel sprouts and I think I got the best dish in the group. That sauce on the crab cakes was golden.

Great eggplant parmigiana... ok pasta dishes... excellent service from Melanie. The atmosphere is ok... nice restaurant, but very close seating and crowded. Hard to talk... extremely noisy and a bit chaotic. Enjoyed ourselves and the staff was very nice to my mom (celebrating her 80th). Had some extra items on our bill that I didn't order, but paid it without comment (again, good service and veryyyy busy... not worth it at that point). I would go again if there were just a couple of us... wouldn't recommend for large parties unless you're more about the scene than chatting. Trust me and get the eggplant! :)

This place was wonderful and charming. I was a part of a large group and we were well taken care of and our food came quickly. Our group did have a few minor issues, but they were handled quickly. My dish was supposed to come with pasta and didn't, but it was quickly remedied. I also prefer my chicken parm a little thinner and crispier than this was prepared.

OK, I'll just say we had "da** fine" meals. Fresh, seasonal ingredients combined in some unique and surprising ways, beautifully prepared and so, so delicious. Just look at the photos of a selection of our dishes. This was well worth an update of my earlier review. First, Speckled Pear has removed the community seating and the prepared food, bakery and produce counters from my earlier visits and replaced them with true "restaurant" tables. The focus is now squarely on dining, with lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch service. And oh, there's still a wine bar and bottles are still available for purchase. In my humble view a significant positive step. Our servers were excellent, including helpfully explaining some of the wine options (my wife and sister-in-law ordered a flight). Still a fairly casual environment. Great acoustics- I hate echo chambers. We sat close to other guests but were able to easily talk among ourselves without hearing any extraneous neighbor conversations. Dare I say, Speckled Pear is now a {insert tire company name} star-quality dining experience. In Fort Mill! PS - It's a small restaurant which filled quickly and early on the weekday we visited. Reservations are recommended.

We were also lucky enough to meet the chef who with his wife started the restaurant just about a year ago. They're just as warm as the rest of their team! Really looking forward to going back next time we're in Charlotte.

The table was ready and ours for the evening. We were seated on the porch and were very comfortable there. We enjoyed the service from the recommendations to the banter. It really added to the experience. The food was phenomenal. We opted for a few small plates and one entree to share. This allowed room for dessert! Everything on the menu seemed perfectly crafted. Many unexpected dishes that we want to try. We ordered the heirloom tomato dish (a special), the sablefish, the brussel sprouts, and the yellowfin crudo. All of that left room for the deconstructed key lime pie. Delicious. Worth of reservations. Prime times book up and can book up a month out. They have an oyster happy hour, $2 oysters. I am unsure of the details on that. For reference, our meal with drinks was just over $170 for 3 people.

One was a small side Caesar salad which I got. I was disappointed in the continuing practice for restaurants to charge for small changes like this within informing the customer. The wings were AMAZING, and the sliders were absolutely delicious! They were so good that I devoured them before I even thought to take a picture! Unfortunately, the pierogies were the one disappointment, especially since they were actually the main reason I decided to order from here. They were a bit too greasy for my taste. After eating two, I ended up placing the rest on a paper towel to absorb some of the excess oil, which unfortunately made them less enjoyable. That being said, I would definitely eat at The Degenerate again. I'd happily order the wings and sliders again, but I would probably skip the pierogies next time unless they're one of those dishes that are simply better enjoyed fresh at the restaurant rather than as takeout. Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses, and those sliders and wings alone are worth another visit!

We started with cocktails, which were delicious, followed by the pork belly bao buns. These disappeared so quickly I'm honestly impressed I managed to get a picture. The homemade focaccia was a little underwhelming on its own and could've used more flavor, but the onion jam served with it was fantastic and definitely helped bring it to life. The shrimp & grits were everything you'd expect from a Southern-inspired dish, with barbecue sauce and homemade pickled red onions adding a great twist. Then came the spätzle, and as a German girlie, I take my spätzle seriously. This one absolutely delivered! The chicken was incredibly tender, and the cilantro, scallions, chili crisp, and other spices gave it such a fun, unexpected spin. We also tried the cacio e pepe, which was simple, delicious, and clearly done right. It's one of those dishes with so few ingredients that you know immediately when someone nails it. Our only real miss was the chef's counter. I expected more of an actual chef-counter experience (you know, like interaction with the chef and a peek at the action), but the main chef seemed to be off to the side and never really interacted with us. There was someone doing some prep work in front of us, but it didn't feel like the experience I had envisioned. Honestly, I'd rather have sat within the main dining room. Still, that's a small blip in an otherwise fantastic anniversary dinner. We were too full for dessert (a tragedy), left with leftovers, and most importantly, left with a great memory as they are closing their doors soon so the owner can open a new style restaurant. Reservations are definitely recommended since it's small and fills up quickly. If you haven't been, add this Charlotte staple to your list before it's gone... you won't regret it!
