Margherita or Cacio e Pepe Pizza
    Toni R.

North Italia is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and that's why I keep going back. Went in for my birthday this evening and as always got the Arancini and white truffle garlic bread for apps, again as always soo good. My the main I got the Agnolotti al Pomodoro which was a first for me and oh man it is definitely my new favorite. Noodles filled with warm ricotta in a tomato sauce drizzled with a pesto oil, it is PERFECTION!!! For dessert I was given a brownie Sunday which was also good. The reason for the 3 stars is service was unbearably slow. We waited 15 minutes just to put in drink orders after seated and the wait just kept getting longer between everytime our server came over. I would of probably got another drink if I didn't know it would Be 20-30 minutes before I saw it. Again food and atmosphere is always amazing very disappointed is the service this evening.

We've frequented North many times over the years at their other locations and have stopped in to the one in Gilbert a few times as well. The restaurant is casual enough for meeting with friends but also one of my favorites for date night with my husband. Reservations are offered through their website if you're going on a popular evening, but we tend to make one for other days as well, just in case, to be seated promptly upon arrival. Their menu consists pasta & pizza dishes, salads, etc. that are modern Italian. My favorites from the appetizers are the Zucca Chips (although these do tend to be pretty salty) & White Truffle Garlic Bread. I can't think of anything I haven't liked yet, but some notable mentions are their Funghi pizza, Prosciutto pizza, Seasonal Vegetable Salad, and the Strozzalreti pasta dish. All delicious. They do have a kids menu for the littles; I've been here with my 5 year old and he really likes their Spaghetti & Meatballs. If you're in the area, give them a try. There are other locations around the valley as well.

Lovely atmosphere throughout the restaurant and patio. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and not a crumb was left behind. I actually ordered the farmers market board as my meal and all the veggies, pesto and bread were so delicious with beautiful presentation! We really appreciate vegan and vegetarian options. Service was a bit slow, but they were packed on a Saturday night. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

Served Cold, huge mushroom bases not separated from the mushrooms and no signature garlic sauce. Big fail in both orders!

11/15/25 SE valley errands, furniture, home improvement late lunch and haircut. stop. Parking 5/5 First shot front parking, timing is everything because it was a full lot. Ambiance 5/5 Coveted in previous visits. Service 5/5 Our hostess and server tonight took great care of us. This has been true every visit! Food 3/5 It was a sub-par night after such a great run of visits. North Italian has become one of our favorite places to visit for modern Italian. We both ordered the pan sautéed mushrooms which came out cold and no creamy garlic sauce. It normally comes out sizzling hot. The mushroom cluster bases were intact. Someone in the kitchen was rushed or untrained. Very disappointed and we both sent them back. My wife had a Cesar Salad and I stayed the course and chose the Crushed Ravioli. Mine came out almost room temperature, another big surprise. The flavor was great but not served properly. The manager (same gentleman for all visits) removed both orders of Pan seared mushrooms. Our server felt bad but we let her know it was the kitchen that fell short tonight not her service. $53.50 after removing both orders of mushrooms and $20 cash for great service. Putting North Italian on timeout. Balls and strikes my friends-SYOY!

Restaurant is pretty on the inside, although I highly feel they need concrete barriers at the exterior of the front entrance. Any car could plow right through and into the restaurant accidentally...or not. Please consider this for patron safety. But separately, we popped in and were pleased to get a table near the bar immediately. According to our receipt our server was Lexy L. We felt like she was very lukewarm at first encounter. There was nothing pleasant or friendly about her, it was hello and straight to the point. We ordered 4 menu items. They came out in decently quick manner. The steak panzanella was a scam. There were like 3 whole steak pieces for 22.00. Taste wasn't anything to write home about. Chicken pesto lacked seasoning, salt specifically. The bolognese papardelle came out and was a tad undercooked. The noodles were a little tough still. And lastly the heirloom burrata. It was good, but again, nothing spectacular. I hate paying for food that doesn't make me want to come back and enjoy it again. Im not new to north italia been dining at it plenty of times in California. I think the lackluster service kind of dampened things but the taste was off tonight. Had to wait for our drink, and then follow up refills too. Although she handled us, the service was lacking.

I enjoyed the food and service so much on my first visit that I came back a second time, this time with my husband for our monthly date night. You We had a 6:45 p.m. reservation made weeks in advance. Although we were seated around 7:00, we didn't receive our main courses until almost 8:00 p.m. The food was excellent, just like the first visit. I ordered the squid ink tonnelli and my husband had the bolognese--both were delicious. I understand it's a busy time of year, but waiting close to an hour for entrées was disappointing. Our server was apologetic and said she wasn't sure what was going on with the kitchen, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, it ended up being a no-dessert night--we were ready to leave by then. Due to the long wait, we'll likely stick with Buck & Rider where we usually dine.

An excellent spot for Italian food in Gilbert. Great location after a day out and about! The inside is nice. Plenty of seating throughout as well as seating at the bar. I really enjoyed the ambiance and loved the lighting to set the mood. There is a large outdoor patio, too. There are TVs that had the game on but didn't take away from the overall setting. The menu here is pretty straightforward for an Italian spot. A nice mix of traditional Italian dishes and their own spins on some. The pizzas are very good; highly recommend - the hot honey and smoked prosciutto pizza is phenomenal. Portions are nicely sized, too! We got treated to the truffle bread appetizer and it was delicious. Kids menu is decent and the portions are good sizes as well. Their drinks menu was nice and had some good looking cocktails! Great selection and full bar. Large selection of wine as well. North is a great for a special occasion, date night, or happy hour. Definitely will be back. Excellent service during our visit as well.

A great family dinner night! We all enjoyed our pasta and as always, the twins made friends during dinner! Service and atmosphere is great! We really loved the shrimp scampi! Highly recommend!

We were a party of 6, walked in for dinner. We had to wait for about 30-40 mins or so! The parking was ample in this location and the vibe was great! Good stuff for a night out with friends! Once we got seated our server took really good care of us! I had the prosecco, my husband got a glass of red wine, and rest of our friends got the holiday special drinks! For appetizers we got the calamari, margarita pizza, the vegetable salad, and garlic bread. The Calamari was on the saltier side. The pizza was okay! We had better. It was not the best. Just average! However the Salad and the Garlic bread was winner. The whipped Ricotta that came with the bread was chef's kiss! For entree's most of us got the Chicken Pesto and Seafood Pasta! The Pasta on the Chicken Pesto was slightly over done not Andante! Finished the night with some Tiramisu. The Tiramisu was delicious! I wish the pizza and pasta were better. Otherwise we had a great time. I can't thank our server enough for being patient and kind to us! Definitely coming back to try some more new items from the menu!

Been here twice now and happy for the most part First time I felt the pizza was a bit too salty and the cheese was off some how The salad we had was fantastic, can't remember which (whoops) My friend enjoyed everything tho We went around lunch time and were seated right away wasn't too busy, service was okay. Waitress didn't feel approachable Second time went at 6pm on a Sunday it was pretty busy but we were sat right away. Around 7pm people were waiting Even busy, our waitress was very pleasant and patient. I really really enjoyed the butter nut polenta and my margherita pizza was good. My bf got the Parmesan chicken and the taste was okay and chicken was too dry. I also felt the pasta was just okay (so did he) This can be a good spot to meet up for lunch or for a date or even eat by yourself. It has a bit of romantic vibes at night, candles lit. Parking can be a bit tight For the price and quality of food I gave 4 stars

Very nice lunch with great friends! Patio seating was cool and spacious. We started with grilled bread and truffle cheese. Yummy and very fragrant. From the Prosciutto pizza to chicken sliders to pasta, it was very good. Desert was simple for me with the pistachio gelato. Delicious choices all around.

I've been meaning to visit this place for a while now, and I finally got the chance to go for dinner on a Saturday night with my girls. We had a reservation, and when we walked in, the indoor seating was completely full, so we were seated on the patio. And honestly? What a beautiful setup. The patio is such a lovely space to hang out in, I can already tell it's going to be a total hit during the summer months. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. She gave us great wine and food suggestions, which we truly appreciated. I went with a white wine, and for food we ordered the funghi pizza, strozzapreti pasta, and a side of Brussels sprouts. The pizza was so good I could've easily finished the whole thing myself! The toasted mushrooms and smoked mozzarella added such lovely depth of flavor. The strozzapreti was equally delicious. You could really taste the pine nuts, and the roasted chicken brought a rich, comforting flavor to the dish. The only letdown was the Brussels sprouts they were overly fried and felt a bit too burnt for our liking. Overall, it's a really good spot, and I'd definitely come back to try more from their menu.

This place is crazy busy on a Friday night, but we managed to obtain a table for four. We ordered the D2 Red Blend which was excellent! We ordered the Cacio e Pepe Arancini, wild shrimp scampi, yellowtail crudo, prosciutto 23 pizza, and tiramisu for dessert. All excellently presented and loved all the infused flavors! The staff were on point which is the reason I gave 5 stars. Amazing service, ambience and location!! We will return!!

I kicked off our 90-minute experience with the Blackberry Yuzu Margarita, and it was the perfect balance of crisp, sweet, and tart. I wrapped things up with the Macadamia Nut Piña Colada which, fittingly for being "aboard" a pirate ship, was delightfully rum-forward without being overly sweet. In between cocktails, we shared a couple of snacks that were such a welcome addition -- something you sadly don't always find at local speakeasies! The service was top-notch thanks to our bartender Rocco, whose knowledge and attention to detail made the experience even more fun. Between the creative cocktails, immersive vibe, and fantastic hospitality, Undertow is easily one of the coolest spots around!

Of course, this place is known for its cocktails, so naturally they should be great--but trust me, I've been to several cocktail-only establishments that were lackluster. Absolutely NOT the case here. You could literally put all the pages of the menu on a wall, throw a dart, and whatever you hit would be delicious and interesting in its own right. The place is a little small, but honestly, that's what I love about it. It feels cozy in all the right ways. It's also very relaxing, floating along the sea with some delightful surprises here and there. We ordered several drinks, but one that's not on the menu (and they do make it) is the Pearl Diver, which is magnificent here. The mixologists and servers are all amazing and should be proud of themselves for bringing such an experience to Gilbert.

She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. She thought Java Kava was a coffee lol So to my surprise when I get there, Kava is a dirt water that is very, very strong and pungent and not my cup of tea lol But besides that, this place is so hip and cool. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. Drinks were spectacular! You have got to love a bartender that doesn't have to grab a book to figure out how to make a drink. The wait staff was on point and very in- tune to their patrons needs. The food was OK, but I probably wouldn't come here to eat. All in all a pretty great experience

Possibly one of the best seafood meals and restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more The ambience is amazing. We sat at the bar and had a view of the entire restaurant including the kitchen. The place is a well-run and oiled machine. Best quality seafood in the valley. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. The calamari is epic. A must try! We also have the dozen oysters. They were spectacular and the shrimp cocktail does not get any better than this. The staff is incredibly attentive and skilled. Like I said, you get what you pay for and this place gives you the best!

We had to wait about 10 minutes until we were seated. It is loud in the restaurant, but not horrible. It was a little difficult to hear our server. I believe her name was Rose. Hubby got water & beer. I got water & Tito's & cranberry juice. They definitely were a heavy pour. I wish they would give you a stir sick to stir the mixed drinks because I had to stir mine. I ended up using my knife to stir it. We ordered the dinner rolls. They were really good yeast rolls. I do wish they were served with butter, but they were good. Hubby ordered the beef ribs since we've never had beef ribs & they come with Carolina Gold sauce, which we love. I read in reviews that the sauce was spicy. They must have changed the recipe because I don't do spicy at all, & the sauce was not spicy to me. My level of spicy is Taco Bell mild. The sauce was really good. Hubby liked his ribs, but wouldn't get them again. They were super tender, but a bit fatty. There wasn't as much meat on the ribs as you would think. I got the crab cakes. I switched my side to a loaded baked potato. There was no charge to switch. The crab cakes were really good, There is no filler, but a crispy panko on top. I was disappointed in my baked potato because it was hot or even warm. I also had shell pieces in both of my crab cakes. This is the reason for only 4 stars. They gave us a card, a complimentary box of macaron cookies, & put a message on the board wishing us a happy 33rd anniversary as we left. The service was good, & the food was good. Due to the price we will only come for special occasions. We don't typically spend $180 with tip for a meal regularly.

I really wish it were easier to find breakfast joints with organic coffee but it can be a bit difficult to find in certain areas, such as the east valley area. This was one of a couple options I could find. We attempted to dine here for dinner on a previous occasion but it was a long wait at that time so we went elsewhere. This time we showed up around 10:15am on a Saturday in June, and we were quoted 90 minutes for two people. Fortunately there was room at the bar, so we were seated immediately. The decor is very clean and subtlety higher end. It is an open floor plan with the bar towards the front door, which is also accessible from the large patio (in cooler weather times) that has mister fans and a lot of shade. They have one of the nicest and cleanest restrooms in the valley, with complementary sea salt scrub and high end paper napkins. They also have a couple luxurious event spaces, one of which was hosting an engagement party. My mom tried a non alcoholic drink special with decaffeinated tea and fresh juices, with a little flower on top. She also tried the avocado toast. She enjoyed both but she said the avocado toast was a little spicy, albeit she has an extremely low tolerance for spice. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and black coffee. The coffee came in a neat mug with an oversized handle that was very ergonomic. It was good, but slightly watery. Was at least comforting to know it wasn't laced with tons of pesticides like most restaurants' coffee. The egg, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The egg and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the bread was nice and soft but not too dry. The greens on the side were fresh with a nice vinaigrette. The service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. All in all I was impressed with this place. The only thing I wish they had on their brunch menu was an omelette, because this is first place I have been in a very long time that isn't a fine dining establishment, where they actually know how to cook eggs properly. They were fluffy, moist, and light. I don't bring this up as a brag, but I attended culinary school and learned proper scrambled egg (French style) technique years ago. This is the first place I've been in a long time that gives my eggs a run for their money.

We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!
