The way staff at this location treat paying customers is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I called specifically to ask why the DoorDash driver was being ignored during a pickup, and the employee on the phone (Ella) hung up on me mid-sentence without resolving anything or showing any basic courtesy. This isn't just poor service--it's outright disrespectful behavior toward both customers and delivery drivers. Based on this experience and similar patterns I've noticed, this does not appear to be an isolated issue at this location. No paying customer should be dismissed or hung up on for asking a simple, legitimate question. Management needs to seriously address the lack of professionalism and customer service standards here. read more

Came in on a Friday night around 5 pm. We were originally told 30 minutes for indoor seating then we came back to tell the hostess we would just take a table outside and suddenly she could seat us inside immediately. Sweet! The whole place is basically a warehouse with tables. The ambiance is nice and modern but if you're looking for a quiet dinner, this isn't your place. It's LOUD. We ordered the grilled bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as an appetizer. It was great. We were offered more bread to mop up the remaining oil and vinegar on the plate. Our server was outstanding. Very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. It has become rare in my experience, to get service like this anymore. They get an extra star for the service alone. I ordered the seared scallops, my wife ordered the bolognese. The scallops were seared to perfection but they were SO salty. The sweet corn risotto was a good pairing, but it lacked flavor. The bolognese is their house specialty. The sauce was very acidic. My wife said it tasted like chef boyardee. I couldn't disagree. Oof. Fair warning, if you grew up eating homemade Italian food, you're going to be disappointed. The pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked very good. I started out with the Alta Rossa which was with tequila which was raspberry infused and it was heaven. There were so many awesome food choice we decided to share 3 dishes and each one was divine. We tried "The Pig".. just the right amount of spice from the 4 meats especially the sopressatta. The Lasagna Bianca with braised short rib was and absolute winner ( the only dish we had no leftovers). The bechamel sauce was so rich and tasty. My friends and I came in for brunch yesterday morning. We had a party of 6 and were able to make reservations online. We got seated very quickly and were seated outside. They also had high chairs available for my little one! The hostess and host were very nice and welcoming, and when we finally met our waitress, she was terrific! She recommended to my their version of an iced mocha, and it was amazing. I wish I remembered the exact name, but it was very good and refreshing! The vibe was much needed for our out of town guest; relaxing and breezy. If you have NOT been to North Italia before, you really must. Our last visit was June 2023 for my husband's birthday and we loved our meal then. For brunch, everything was so good! My husband and I ordered the white truffle garlic bread (my little one absolutely loved this), the pollo fritto, and the sausage and asparagus omelet. The rest of the party ordered various things, but the calamari for the table and zucchini chips were so good! Went there for our daughter's 25th birthday. The server was fabulous, however none of us were ecstatic about our meals. There were 8 of us and the bill was $260 plus $55 tip. The meatballs in my meal were really hard and the pasta was way undercooked. I understand Al dente, but this was not. The bolognese sauce wasn't great either and I make a better sauce than theirs. We could have stayed home and had a better meal. Sorry, I'm sure some people are satisfied with their food, but we were disappointed. We ate the pasta before we got a picture! This place always has great service and our server went out if his way to make sure that we felt taken care of. My daughter has a several shrimp and shellfish allergy and never had an issue eating here. The salads, pastas and desserts are so savory! You will leave here with a fully belly and heart. The food taste homemade even though it's a chain but the flavors will knock you off your seat! Everything we have every order is so good! Second time here for a birthday party with eight people. Party arrived early, but did not get seated until almost 30 minutes after our reservation time; and then it took another 30 minutes to get drinks. Ordered calamari and meatballs for appetizers, calamari came out about 15+ minutes ahead of the meatballs, but both were good, and the garlic bread with truffle butter came after the meatballs. Although one carrot slice and an onion don't qualify as "house made giardiniera for the calamari, I thought it was the best app we received. Chicken parm was okay, but the pasta was cold. Everyone seemed happy with their lasagna. I got the seared scallops with butternut risotto. Disappointing; the risotto was bland and gluey, and the scallops were barely seared. I wanted something light so I could try dessert. The special butter cake was microwaved; the center was hard (not overbaked) and dry. The salted Carmel bundino was inedible. The bananas and topping were good, but the salted caramel was burnt and sooooooo salty; like an old looney tunes cartoon, were your whole mouth puckered up and you could not talk, salty. While it was busy, and I would expect some delays, we were there almost three hours with too many long pauses between dishes and waitress check-ins. Our portion (no apps), food and three drinks was over $160. For that amount of money my expectation is a higher level of service and food that excites the palate. We will not be back... read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant more. We went on a Friday night, it was busy but there were some open tables. I like the overall vibe a lot. Maybe a little on the loud side, but bearable. Super friendly staff, great menu offerings and spotless as far as cleanliness goes. We ordered 2 entrees. 1 ice tea. No appetizer, no dessert. $80.00, no side salad, no bread. If you know me and my Italian restaurant reviews, no bread served with pasta is an automatic 1 star deduction. Our server was Jesse. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. I did feel like he lost track of our table though. He didn't check back soon enough after our meals were delivered and as a result the parmesan cheese I asked for didn't arrive until I was about finished eating. Slow on beverage refills too. You charge that much for a meal, I better be impressed with the service. Another star was deducted because it just took too long for our food to come out. This is my favorite restaurant hands down, I come here every year for my birthday and any other time my wallet allows! The interior is very intimate with moody lighting, the patio is huge and inviting and they have an extra room for big parties or just extra seating. I always get their chicken pesto with extra capers which is *chef's Kiss* and the truffle bread as an appetizer. We enjoyed north Italia for our anniversary. We've been here a time or two before and this was the best experience we've had to date and the others were good as well. We felt we were treated like vips from the greeting, service, and departure, the entire experience was memorable and wonderful. We ordered drinks which came out very quickly, then ordered a pesto pizza and pasta dish which were both delicious. Finally, we had hazelnut torte and a chai latte for dessert which, due to our anniversary, was complimentary. Such a great meal and even greater service and ambience. We came to North Italia to celebrate Mother's Day with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and everything about our visit was fantastic. We started off with the truffle bread recommended by our server--absolutely amazing, especially paired with the creamy ricotta spread. We shared a bottle of Pinot Noir, which was the perfect complement to our meal. For entrées, I had the salmon with pearl pasta--cooked perfectly with a nice crust and so flavorful with the pesto. We also tried the spicy rigatoni and the short rib lasagna. The rigatoni had just the right amount of kick, and the short rib lasagna? Pure heaven. Rich, tender, and packed with flavor. Our waitress Alysha was great, she kept checking on us but could tell we weren't in a rush so didn't make us feel that way. She also brought a free dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary! I got the bolognese, the house specialty, and my husband got the short rib Marsala. Both were delicious! We also got the calamari, I personally am not the biggest fan of the tempura fry and it was pretty chewy so I would skip that next time. We got the shrimp scampi as well and that was delicious since I love butter and garlic! My biggest complaint was the parking. We went on a weeknight around 6 pm and we had to park at least a 5 minute walk away! Heads-up: they don't honor restaurant week deals during brunch--only lunch and dinner. When we asked when lunch started, we were told they don't serve lunch on Sundays, just brunch and dinner. Would've been nice if that had been clearly noted on the restaurant week info. The ambiance is clean, open, and inviting, with plenty of seating indoors, outdoors, and at the bar. The open kitchen is a cool feature, though hard to see clearly through the reflections. What I could see looked great--very clean with a crew hustling hard. Service was hit-or-miss. The hostess was less than welcoming despite the place being half full, if that, and sat us at a wobbly table. That said, the staff fixed it quickly when asked. My Peach Bellini arrived in a sticky, wet glass, but the waitress handled it well--brought it back cleaned and brought a fresh one for the trouble. Food-wise: we split the Cacio e Pepe pizza and WOW! Absolute star of the show. It's the kind of pizza you rave about later and suddenly find yourself craving again. The Strozzapreti pasta was good--the sauce and mushrooms added great depth--but it couldn't top that pizza. All in all: one unforgettable pizza, decent food otherwise, and average service at above-average prices. Not bad, but not enough to bring me back. read more

We were a party of five, including me, and I was the only person who had been to North Italia before. We were seated quickly with our reservation and greeted by our server. The North Italia in Gilbert is phenomenal. I have heard they can be pretty hit or miss. Specifically when speaking with family members who have gone to California locations. This one is wonderful. I'm not going to rate a specific meal because I think I've been here 10 times now, mostly trying different meals every time, from their brunch, to the chicken/beet salad, to the pizzas and pastas. I've never had a bad meal here. Most are 5 stars and a couple are 4 but they still average a 5 star meal in my book. The ONLY criticism I have is the kids pizza. Don't y'all know kids won't eat blackened crust?!?! It's okay, they still love the chicken fingers. I'll forgive you. read more
