I originally made an…read moreappointment with them for a few days later to just have my sprinklers checked after the winter. Then I went to turn on my sprinklers so they would have some water while I waited and found my sprinkler control panel was a mess and resetting it didn't fix the problem. I told On The Spot Sprinkler Repair about this and they recommended I got an inexpensive replacement sprinkler control system from Amazon which then arrived the same day. I told the repair service that I was now in a bit of a rush since I went from maintenance needs to a completely broken system, and they squeezed me in the next day which was EXTREMELY nice of them! Oh, and it turns out that my sprinklers were fine after the winter, I just had a busted control system -- perhaps from an electrical surge so I am now protecting the system with a UPS/surge protector setup. (I had an old UPS that I was going to throw away but it had plenty of juice left in it for such a little control system.) All communications with them were very fast and professional and On The Spot Sprinkler Repair was very knowledgeable which is not always the case with repair people.

Ironically within the next couple of days one of our sprinklers turned into a splash pad, so we made an appointment with Desiree at Big Blue. She was very pleasant to speak with. On the day of the appointment, Anthony and Brandon arrived on time and got right to work after inquiring about what issues we were having. They checked all the zones to see what was happening in each. Within an hour they had not only fixed what we called them for, but also some additional things they uncovered while testing out the system. During the process, they explained everything along the way to ensure there was an understanding of what was being done. Anthony even told me how much time each zone needed watering and why. They were also efficient in cleaning off the dirt that got onto the sidewalk and driveway. Sprinkler heads were adjusted, one head was changed out and all damaged drip lines were repaired. We definitely got our money's worth with their service. Big Blue is a company with integrity which is greatly appreciated! The first drainage solution they installed didn't work. Before work started, I tried to get clarity on their drain design, but the receptionist couldn't answer my questions. They said the team lead would call me, but that call never came. After the first design didn't work, I had to follow up myself to get them to come back out, and it took another 3-4 weeks before they returned. They did come back and implement a better solution, but the installation skips what I understand to be standard practice: a proper burrito wrap (fabric, gravel, pipe, gravel, sand, closed wrap). Without it, I'm genuinely concerned the drain will silt up and fail within a few years, meaning I'll be digging it back up on my own dime. Again, the guys on the job were pleasant and efficient. I just wish the communication and the craftsmanship matched that. For a project like this where you're burying the work underground and hoping it holds for decades, the details matter.
