My chiropractor told me she could not do any more for my neck pain and recommended physical therapy. Like so many, I have tried PT numerous times with little success or no desire to keep up, and told her I really didn't think it would do any good. Her response was simply..."go to my guy". So I went to Jason Vila at North Lake Physical Therapy. From the very first appointment, I knew this was not like any other Physical Therapist I have seen before. Jay spent plenty of time with me to understand my pain, explain why it was happening and what he could do and show me in order to get relief and healing. I continued with weekly appointments and at home exercises for several months. During the appointments Jay would assess my current level of pain and improvement and work with pressure, massage and mobility range. Next I spent about 20-30 minutes with Alejandro or Megan and worked on exercises for strengthening. The time, care, understanding and attention that this team gave me was beyond anything I have experienced before or expected. They are all very friendly and personable. These people were not just care givers, but to me, became my friends. The day finally came when it was time for me to graduate. They sent me on my way with an exercise plan, a happy healed neck, an open door "come back and see us anytime" and a hug. I started PT at Northlake, months after my car accident. I had been going to a chiropractor for close to 8 months, before they suggested switching to physical therapy. My first visit with Jay at Northlake, made me immediately regret not coming to see him sooner. My health improved tremendously and my pain went down to almost a 2, on the pain scale, within my first three visits with Jay. The whole team made me feel welcomed and comfortable immediately. I've been a patient with North Lake for a few months, and my experience with them has been great. I've been to physical therapists before, but Jay is my favorite by far. He takes the time to explain things to me in laymen's terms, instead of talking over my head like some doctors do. He's friendly and approachable, and working with him has helped me make big improvements in my health. Everyone else in the office is great as well. The front desk is quick to answer any questions I have, and they helped me figure out some issues with my insurance, which I really appreciated. Insurance can be a huge headache, but they made it a quick and easy process. Alejandro, Jay's assistant, is great as well. Very friendly and easy to talk to. I have spent a lot of time at North Lake Physical Therapy with Jason and his staff, and it has been such a positive experience. This year, I had a hip and shoulder surgery and, at 23 years old, this left me very discouraged. Jason and his staff have helped me on my road to recovery, and it has been a great experience. The staff is supportive and so friendly at every visit. Jason shows a genuine and vested interest in his patients and has put a tremendous amount of time and energy into helping me recover. I am a Firefighter and injuries are a fact of life for me..Jay (Jason) is not only a professional, but really listens to you when you are describing how your body feels. He is also an all around great guy! His staff is not only professional but personable and I feel like we have all become friends through my treatment. I used NL Clackamas after a work injury, I spent about 5 months with them and left as medically stationary as I get. Then 1 year later I had a car accident, I didn't even wait, I knew I was coming back to NL. And when my husband got hit a DAY LATER, I had him go too. Jay is really good at knowing what you need, he is funny, kind and compassionate. I hate exercise and really dislike pt, but I loved everyone there. I felt like I was hanging out with friends. Friends that put up with my complaining...lol I hope to never need pt again, but if I do I will come back to Jay. Alejandro is great to work with as well. They both listen and never push you. The staff at North Lake PT are very professional, fun and friendly. I have been to other PT places in the past and i am definitely impressed with North Lake PT. I can see the results of their works!! Jim listens and treats my injury as needed. I am still in PT for my ankle injury but i can feel the difference it has made in the last few weeks. In the past i have gone to places where they show give you a piece of paper and send you on your way. North Lake is nothing like that, they take you out into the gym and show your what you can do to help treat your injury give you suggestions. They show your the proper way of doing these exercises. This last bit of snow we received created a slippery issue for me. I was walking down the front stairs carrying my granddaughter slipped and fell. It caused me back and neck pain as well as considerable headaches. I spoke to Lori at Northlake Physical Therapy in Clackamas. Lori encouraged me to come in and visit Jason. I worked with Jason and the team, Alejandro and Lori, a couple times a week since mid-June for a shoulder injury I sustained in January of this year. What a terrific team! I went to North Lake Physical Therapy for several months, first for a sore elbow and then an injured ankle. I received treatment for an hour at each appointment and not the usual 20 to 30 minutes as in other clinics. Jason used a hands on approach and would always comment on the progress I was making. Fantastic experience at N. Lake Physical. Had a severe hamstring pull from a run. Jason listened well, tested the areas of pain and put me on a good treatment path (ASTYM, massage, stretching and strengthening) for a quick recovery.
