First attempt to go here before work was last week, it was 8'oclock, but they were closed? No sign on the door saying why. Second attempt they were busy, 5 people in line, hardly no donuts, ordered a big blue cold brew "This was my attempt at making cold foam" and it was just creamer. Did not taste good. These donuts are always a hit when we share them at school for birthdays or give them as gifts. They are not typical cake donuts but instead yeast donuts I believe. The flavors vary almost every day but the classics like original glazed, chocolate sprinkle, and cinnamon are always available. The atmosphere inside North Lime is so chill and it's a great place to work. Service is friendly and have never felt anything but support and kindness from th staff. Only complaint is that the hours close slightly early in the afternoon (but it's open early in the morning!) as I have tried to meet here at 3pm and it was closed so just check the hours before you go. read more

Wanting to try a new spot, I suggested donuts and a coffee to my husband. We arrived around noon and were sad to learn ... no donuts! A completely empty case. I knew coming in later would mean less choice, but I've never experienced a donut shop running out of donuts. We still decided to try a drink. Their spring menu was interesting. My husband ordered a hot cherry iced chai and complimented it serveral times. I ordered a spumoni iced latte. It was underwhelming. I'd hoped to taste the cherry syrup more. The best part of the visit were the two baristas. Talkative and friendly. The shop is large. Plenty of seating of tables, booths, and comfy chairs. It is also a mess of donut crumbs and toppings all over the place - the tables, the floor, the counters. The floor is also slippery. First time trying donuts from here. One was a blackberry iced with Oreo crumbles on top and the other was cinnamon sugar. Sorry forgot to take a photo of them! Took the donuts to a friend's house for coffee & catching up on life. We cut each donut into fourths to share as we talked. These donuts are yeast style and heavy feeling but delicious. We both really liked the style of donut and couldn't decide a favorite between the two. I'm not typically an icing fan but loved the blackberry icing not overly sweet and definitely had the bursts of blackberry flavor. They never are open even when stated online that they have open hours. They have been multiple times over the last two months I've went on a Saturday or Sunday and they're just flat out not open. On top of that the donuts are never consistent. Some days we go and they are phenomenal fluffy and glazed, then other days we go they are tiny with no icing and dry as a board. I've even communicated this to the staff and they agreed with me that they have a specific employee that never follows directions but they're not doing anything to fix the problem. What a cute place! I'm never in that area but was there for a networking event and loved it! It's a small little space serving coffee and donuts, but in a unique way. The donuts were DELICIOUS. They had a variety of flavors, and while we were given limited options for our event, I was so pleased with the choices I was given. The staff were so kind too, and very knowledgeable and friendly. Been a fan of the North Lime brand for years, but I must admit, the Westport location has tailed off recently. Don't get me wrong, the donuts still taste good, however they're very inconsistent with the cook and size. Some are too crunchy, some are too tiny. Again, all tasty, but with so many donut shop options, the inconsistency is a turnoff. The blackberry glazed is a standout, though. Nice and tart. read more

Leaving this as a self-reminder more than anything. The shop is right next to Comfy Cow in Westport Village. The space is nice enough, but the donuts weren't very good both times I've come here; either they're stale or just kinda hard for some reason. The first time I came I got a basic drip coffee and the half and half they gave me was spoiled, so I had to throw the whole thing away -- likely a fluke, it shouldn't happen to you, but check the date on the carton before you pour. Coffee: I got the mocha, it was good. Nothing special or different from any other coffee place. Donuts: we got 6 to try and they were kind of meh. Except for the beignet donut, which is vegan I think, but it was SO GOOD. The other donuts were kind of dry, just ok. It seemed like they were the leftovers from yesterdays batch as some of the glazed ones were soggy. Service: kind of slow but they got the order right. Overall, this place confuses me. It doesn't seem like the coffee or the donuts stand out, it's as if someone found a bunch of coffee and donuts and said hey let's sell these maybe. The other location is more aesthetically pleasing and very Instagram-ish, so maybe I'll try the other location and see if there's a difference. Kind of a disappointment. read more

It was the day after Thanksgiving and we needed something for breakfast. Made a quick run to North Lime Coffee and Donuts. Had my granddaughter with me to help pick the donuts. The guy working the counter was surprisinly bright and chipper despite the fact that he said he had been in "early" to start the donuts. He was very pleasant and professional. My granddaughter and I picked an assortment of 2 dozen donuts. The first dozen was split between chocolate frosted (excellent) and a moche flavored donut with chocolate chips (also excellent). The 2nd dozen was an assortment with a couple with sprinkles (for the kids), cinanmom sugar, sweet potato filled, and a couple of others. All the donuts were excellent. As a side note - these are not inexpensive donuts - they're a bit pricey - but were worth the price. read more

Our visit to North Lime went rather 'South' so to speak this Sunday. Following a walk in Anchorage we decided to visit this place for the first time. My chai latte was as cold as the fall breeze and my wife's coffee was essentially undrinkable. One of the ingredients had definitely soured (almond milk or vanilla sweetner). We mentioned this to one of the workers and he seemed rather ho-hum about it. They aren't as sweet and airy as your typical Krispy Kreme but they are very dense and decadent. They have a few regular flavors plus weekly and daily special. I love the plain glazed and their fritters and they have a lot of great vegan donuts as well. I also love that there is plenty of seating so you can sit and stay a while, unlike most takeout donut shops. Reading some of the negative reviews and I feel like I must be in the Twilight Zone - this NL is great and I've always been happy with both the donuts and the coffee. Yeah, sometimes you have to wait when they're busy longer than you would at a Starbucks, but an extra five minutes isn't gonna kill anyone. And yes, sometimes they'll run out of a popular flavor of donut, but it's not the end of the world. If you can, go when they have cinnamon rolls, they're to die for. read more

I have been wanting to try North Lime since it opened. On Sunday afternoon we stopped for coffee after a long walk in a nearby park. Note, my review is strictly based on the coffee, as I did not have a donut, which seems to be their biggest draw. Upon entering, the space did not have a warm and inviting ambiance that would make me want to stick around and enjoy a coffee. It had a very industrial and sterile vibe. The barista, while not rude, was very ho hum with a flat affect. She was not at all engaging and certainly not what I would choose for the face of my business. I ordered a regular coffee with almond milk and a shot of sugar free vanilla (the only sugar free option). I was happy to see that drinks to be consumed on the premises are served in a mug rather than a to-go cup. After our drinks were made we opted to sit outside to enjoy them. Here's where my experience really went south (pun intended). The coffee was lukewarm at best. It was as if it had been sitting (already poured) for over an hour. I'm not certain if the almond milk or the sugar free syrup was bad, but I literally could not finish the drink because the taste was very off. The aftertaste was horrible. After my husband finished his drink, we took our cups back inside. There was a different barista at this point. I mentioned that I couldn't drink the coffee and asked about the dates on the milk and syrup. His reply was that, "They both should have been okay" and turned to continue wiping down a countertop. I am not likely to return, since I don't eat donuts and the coffee situation needs improvement. read more

Going to leave 2 stars for now, I plan to return in a few months once they've worked out all the kinks and will update my review then. Came in at 10:30, waited in a line of about 15 people and by the time I reached the front there were two types of donuts left. I opted for one of each and ordered an iced vanilla latte. They filled the cup more than half of the way with milk before putting the milk in and didn't use much espresso at all. Had to return it, a glorified milk drink for $4. I got a cold brew instead and that was also terrible. My least favorite part about the experience was the employees, if I'm being honest. They didn't seem to get along at all, lots of power struggles happening and passive aggressive remarks. Anyone within 12 feet of the counter can hear their interactions and it just seemed like a hot mess. The donuts I did get to try (glazed cake and chocolate iced) were good, the only reason for 2 stars. read more
