Started off as a great day, ended in a rip off later that evening. The Sirloin was as tough as shoe leather, couldn't even finish it. Both orders of catfish was burnt thru & thru. You heard the "SNAP" when breaking it in half. We "arranged" our unfinished platters in a manner so as to signify to waitress that "We are so done" but she never came back around. Approached door attendant & she informed me that "she left". The good: waitstaff/bar staff is friendly and amazing. The bad: whoever took my order over phone and/or cooked it, got it all wrong. Ordered Chicken fried steak by time I got home 20 min drive it was a chicken fried chicken not steak. Was mad at myself for not looking at restaurant but the bag was tied up so much I had to cut knots off anyways and was read back to me correct on phone so hoped for the best. Idk if was good or not, I cut into it and saw meat was white and gave it away to son who just came by(he sd was edible). Wife got lemon pepper salmon sd wasnt great. Update 06/01/2025 Called ahead for a group of 9 at 11:54am Arrived at restaurant @ 11:58 Hostess told me our group could not be seated in the side dining room because they were short staffed, no one was in that room. Was seated @ 12:16 Noticed that a group was magically seated in the side dining room and that wait staff was taking their order. 12:32 our drink order was taken. 12:42 food order taken 01:10 asked manager about our food and was told that they just got the order 4 minutes ago. 01:16 our entire group walked out, no food, no good reason for the horrible treatment. The table in the side room already had food and every table that came in after us had already gotten their food. Poor management, poor service and lack of attention. Also, I noticed the person plating food in the back had no hair covering, no gloves, and kept touching her face while handling everyone's food. Sunday is a busy day, lots of groups some are large. The place should be staffed properly for the business and management should be walking the dining room making sure everything is moving along smoothly. 1 star is all you get, should be negative 5. read more

A hot blond sipping a martini on the patio improves the view. They could have filmed a scene of Paramount's Landman here.... I had Fridays Special, "Fish and Chips" and a diet Coke. It is a nice little bar and grill with really a lot of room inside plus a large patio out side. I went there last night with my husband and he had the fish and I had the quesadillas . And we both really loved the food. The quesadillas were excellent and my husband said the fish was very good also. And the young man who waited on us couldn't have been more attentive. There were about 7 of us there all together and he checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed all night. I highly recommend it! read more

I paid $50 to sit in front of the toilet throwing up all night with food poisoning after ordering their Wagyu NY strip. To top that off, after I had give the waitress my valuable debit card, she decided to take it to two different tables with her (risking mixing it up) and was laughing and talking with the first table she stopped by for what seemed like 5 minutes. Then she went to the front desk and was laughing and talking with my card there for what seemed like another 5 minutes. Then she took it to the back, then came to the bar and grabbed a few drinks, then went outside with it. (All the while, I'm sitting two tables down from the cashiers screen they use to check people out at where she could have swiped my card and had us out of there. I told her twice that I wanted my drink to be a draft, then she came with an expired bottle or what tasted expired. We waited 5 minutes after getting our food from someone in the back for our waitress to show up and provide the other things we needed to begin our meal. And the chairs they have available at the tables on the bar side, are extremely uncomfortable. We shared a couple of orders of fried okra as an app. Amazing!!!! I had the spit chicken breast with a sweet potato with the cinnamon sugar butter. The chicken breast was okay, but a little dry. Wednesday 4/26/23 7pm What we ordered. Chips and Salsa Grilled Catfish with sides: Black Eyed peas and Coleslaw Turkey burger with fries and okra. The chips and salsa are bad, I'm not sure which store bought salsa they use, but it is horrible. It's thin and it taste like chili powder more than anything else. Underwhelming. Grilled catfish, this might be the worst fish I've ever eaten in my 50 years. I added a star because I want to give the cooks the benefit that they never cooked grilled fish before. The portion is tiny, but that's not that big of a deal the bigger deal is that it was gelatinous, chewy on one side for some reason and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It was like eating a flavorless jellybean that was hard on one side. Again giving the cooks the benefit, that not a lot of people come to a truckstop and asked for grilled fish, so I gave the cooks one star for this. My advice to management of this restaurant is stop grilling fish, you do not know how to do it. It is a travesty that a fish died and that is the meal that came out of it. The fish's parents deserve better than that. The Black Eyed Peas were OK. Not sure what flavor they were going for but whatever it was, it was strong I've never had black-eyed peas like this before, but they were edible. The coleslaw taste like the coleslaw you get from the Kroger deli probably comes from a bag if I had to guess nothing special about it it wasn't terrible. The turkey burger wasn't bad, and if I can give one definite shout out to the cooks, it's that they do know how to cook bacon. However, my 14-year-old knows how to cook bacon too so let's not get ahead of ourselves. The vegetables on the burger were average overall, this is probably the best part of the meal. The fries are average, pretty much what you would expect to get from a bag of fries at Walmart that you throw in the air fryer for 15 minutes. The fried okra was damn good and whoever came up with the recipe should probably run the whole restaurant. Overall, I give this place two stars, and I would encourage anyone reading this to go someplace else. This is a truckstop on the interstate and it's not meant to be great food. It's meant to fill your belly and get you down the road. I would say that's probably all you can expect. There are a few other restaurants in this area. I recommend you try them and avoid this place. However, if you insist on visiting the north rig grill, I would order nothing but a turkey burger with bacon cheese and fried okra. Otherwise you're going to be sorely disappointed. One other thing, they have a guest Wi-Fi, but when we asked for the password, we were told that no one on the Night Shift had the password, because the management had changed it and not provided it to anyone which honestly sounds pretty absurd. read more

My wife and I came here on a Friday night around 6:45pm. We were promptly seated and the service was friendly however slow but thats where the good part ends. I had a 14oz ribeye (MR). My wife had a salmon filet. My steak was just warm and over cooked but it was edible, my baked potato was cold and crunchy. My wife's salmon however was awfully over cooked, to the point of being crumbly, it was cold and dry. All her sides were cold. When we asked to see the manager we were told they were too busy to come to our table. The only saving grace was my wife's meal was excluded from the bill as it should. I took my family out for birthday celebrations only to have us all suffering severely days later. I've had great experiences here in the past, so nothing less than, yummy was on our agenda. The plain burger was ruined by being burnt crisp, with no flavor. Never in my life have I seen a Philly steak and cheese sandwich made with ground beef tasting like taco seasoning. Gross!! Even the jalapeño poppers were burnt. Didn't know you could go wrong with those. Gosh and yes, the baked potato was huge but, the chicken on top tastes like spam. The best of the entire meal was the kids meal chicken strips and fries with ranch dressing and ketchup! I'd say the waiter could not had done much else, but dang if he forgot to bring the drinks back, and had to be asked. We got our own condiments. I handed him a full plate of food and told him it was not good enough to eat and he threw it away. Then would you believe he changed me for it! I sure didn't want the take out Philly, either... ATLEAST, he took them off the check, but now for the time we had to call in from work from food poisoning. Unfortunately, North Rig Grill fit that definition too. The service was really good. And it's possible I just didn't get something I like.
