This was my first time coming here since I had heard about the prosciutto bread and I could smell it as soon as I walked in. Everything was well stocked and seemed very fresh! I saw lots of staff restocking things. I made my way to the bakery in the back of the store and was a but overwhelmed by the selection. I was helped right away asking for an olive loaf that looked awesome and asked if I wanted it sliced which I did. I then got my prosciutto bread which looked and smelled amazing! She again asked if I wanted it sliced and recommended it lasts linger if its not sliced right away. The loaves were warm like they had just come from the oven. The prepared foods and cheese section had so much variety! Prices seemed decent. I will definitely be back for more baked goods! read more

Here in Westchester we have many options to buy our groceries...North Shore Farms (NSF) has never failed in availability, quality or service. Several times when my wife has looked all over for something, let's say dill, NSF has never failed. While shopping in Wegmans the other day I got into a conversation with a fellow shopper. Talking about the produce. He had mentioned this place North Shore Farms. He seemed fairly impressed by them. Well today based on his recommendation I decided to check the store out. When you first walk in the first section is the produce department. At first glance rather impressive display. Now you start your journey. As you progress through the store it becomes less impressive and now enters the realm of .....standard nothing fancy mini- maxi market. The isles are tight. The deli counter was small not much of a selection of products just the basic ham turkey and some cheeses. An issue that others have commented about was the poor training of those operating the slicing machine. One customer standing next to me had to repeat her order 4 times and the counter person still repeated back wrong. Something else of notice was some of the products were ShopRite items both private label and regular packaging. Overall nothing wrong with North Shore Farms just nothing worth of a 5 star rating. read more

With all the hoopla over the new Wegman's, I think this store has not received the amount of attention it deserves. We happened to see it driving back from a visit to Optimum - if there was directed marketing, it missed us. On entry, you will be in the produce department - the store's strongest. For the past few months, you are first confronted with a large display of grapes. Salad items are in top condition, and the endive and Treviso radicchio are always good choices. Herbs are in good shape. They have got a good selection of organic products, although not as many as a Whole Foods. To the left of produce there is a well stocked dairy section, a bit upscale for this type of place. Behind it, a small case with smoked fish and some select charcuterie. Behind produce you enter the world of baked goods- starting with muffins, and moving onto things like panettone and slider buns. If the store made garlic bread is there, I would try it. The bakery counter itself is at the back, with the ovens visible behind. The best things here are the Tuscan loaves - similar to ciabatta - in small, medium (our choice) and large. There's homemade spanokopita, which will save you a trip to Astoria. The croissants aren't as good as those at Patisserie Salzburg, but they're half the price. They also have croissants stuffed with Nutella. Next up the deli counter. Grab a number and be prepared to wait. There's a full selection of deli meats and cheeses. The prepared foods tend to taste better than they look - you can't say the same about Balducci's or Whole Foods. I would give DeCicco's the edge here, but again North Shore is more reasonably priced. We have enjoyed the empanadas. Chicken cutlets and fried eggplant are serviceable. Fresh fish is better than what you get at your supermarket, unless you go to Whole Foods - the fish here is roughly on a level with Bezos' offerings. Once again, prices are good for what you get. At this point, you can choose a lane with packaged cold offerings - potato salads, olives, etc. or visit meats. The three potato salad is a favorite. The packaged meats are similar to what you would find at a supermarket, but there is a butcher counter with prime steaks. We were able to snag some cut to order American Wagyu rib steaks on one visit at a very good sale price. Service could be faster here. The aisles hold the usual things you would expect, canned goods, a small selection of cleaning products and paper goods. Scattered throughout the store are the sort of Greek items you would normally find in Astoria - discounted olive oil, Greek biscuits, tinned vegetables, packaged baklava. Based on my one experience, I'd skip the latter. I noted that one of the reviewers had a bad experience at checkout. I can only say that our visits went well - with regular staff and management handling the duties. People were genuinely nice. While I still think the Armonk DeCicco's is the best supermarket in Westchester, this establishment offers a better price/quality ratio and may well come to be my favorite. Parking is easy. I stopped in for the first time. The store is beautiful! The produce department was beyond a dream. It was neatly set up and had virtually every fruit vegetable you can imagine! The cheese section was displayed nicely and contained a large variety of cheeses. The meats looked great! I had stopped in in search of caraway seeds, that I could not find in any grocery store. I asked a gentleman and he was beyond nice. He actually got up off the stool he was sitting on while he was stocking shelves,and showed me three places it could be. I found a huge container of it for 3.99! I was ecstatic that I even found it. The store was very neat and everyone was so nice especially at the register. I was very impressed. I love this place for the fresh produce -- you'll have a hard time finding better vegetables and fruit at their prices most of the time. The fresh bread selection is excellent too. Selection of cheeses and ready-made dips are also very good, as are their imports from Europe. Areas I'm not crazy about: deli counter and fish selection are unimpressive, and the service/fare there is only ok. Meat and poultry selection is good but limited. read more

I am happy to have a new grocery store in Mamaroneck area, as my closest supermarket was Stop & Shop in Larchmont. This grocery store has class and is a pleasure to go through the vegetable and fruit section, those are displayed for the shoppers in a neat and orderly manner. Also the supermarket is more in the Italian side so they have lots of Italian goods such as various kinds marinara sauces, pasta comes in diverse shapes of , meat is good too, lots Italian bakery on the sweet side and pizzas and regular bread. I love the sushi store inside the supermarket is really good quality they do a good job. The only thing I don't like is that it's a bit more pricey than the regular supermarkets, but hey! it's a pleasure to come here and shop. read more

I love coming here for prepared foods as I'm too busy to cook. It's fresh and actually tastes good. They also have meat dishes already made up so you just throw it in the oven. Prices are much better than the gourmet prepared food spots not far away yet the food here is comparable. They have organic produce too. They watch their check out line so you're not standing there for 15 min. Support small business that deserve it!! read more

Wow! Calling all Westchester Foodies, you MUST VISIT this little (medium) gem of a market/gourmet market. I'm someone who will drive to Astoria for some Greek delicacies or run down to Arthur Ave to get something I otherwise cannot find. But I will go here more often as they have an amazingly well curated selection of both fresh, prepared, seafood, meats, breads fruits and vegetables, etc that you can ask for. I highly suggest you go and walk very very slowly through the entire store to familiarize yourself - especially the entire rear half of the entire space. I promise you a big handful of 'wow's' and OMG's! Leave me a parking space - once this catches on you'll have to go on off-hours. Enjoy! read more

Beautiful, clean and diverse grocery store. They have speciality food as well as organic and conventional. I moved to Mamaroneck with only 6 months to the opening of North Shore Farms; however, they opened well behind schedule. We are very grateful they have opened now. First, I'm within walking distance from the store, so I'm not an expert at the parking lot; it seems a little congested. I fear when OTF opens up the parking lot will be a mess. They spray all of the carts with disinfectant and give you wipes for your hands prior to entering. The circular is full of ample sales. Their opening weeek they had filet mignon (uncut) for $6.99 an lb. !!! Upon entering , you see a vast array of fruits and vegetables. Everything is displayed beautifully. It's almost as if you're walking into a foreign grocery store. Since the lockdown I've shopped for my elderly neighbor. I usually can find everything I need at stop and shop for her. This week I was able to get everything at North Shore Farms. It is small but has many regular items. The fish and deli area are filled with a large selection. They have a real bread bakery in house (the prosciutto bread is off the charts amazing). They also carry lots of grab and go items for quick dinners. It seems to be there are a good variety of vegetarian options too. Huge cheese selection. Real sushi chefs making sushi. Regular: butter, milks and yogurts +plus lots of alternatives. They have the same candy as Whole Foods (Nassau Candy) it's in a different package and about 1/3 of the price of WF. If you live in Mamaroneck, you will be so happy to be able to shop a so close to home ! If you do not live in Mamaroneck, you will want to make a stop here to try that bread if nothing else. I love our new store in Mamaroneck,NY. As soon as you enter the store, the aroma is so good. It smells of home cooking and delicious baked goods. The music they play while I'm shopping makes me feel like I'm on vacation in another country. The staff are super friendly and helpful and I love the produce, fish market and meat. I also get there early every Saturday to pick up bagels. My family loves them. So happy we have North Shore Farms! Happy neighbor read more

* Unfortunately i had to give 3 stars, i would give 5 mainly because I love the produce options here! i discovered this great market a few months ago and i really love to come here for the produce and just to look around sometimes too. * The parking lot is hard to manage. i get it supermarkets tend to get a lot of traffic, I've noticed the parking lot / supermarket can be a bit busy and the lines get pretty long BUT.. * 3 stars MAINLY because It does bother me how when it's time to pay there are only two registers out of six. The lines are long and people have a lot of stuff so it really bothers me hearing laughter and looking over to see to see 3 girls who look like they work at the store who could be working at one of the six registers? i get it i have a job! like everyone else.. it's nice that workers can share bonds and make friends but please keep that for your personal time, there are other people who are trying to get sh!t done on their days off.. Don't like people not doing their job correctly. Love the produce though ! read more

Been there 4 times spending an average of $150 per visit and mostly like it. Was overcharged for a few items on 2 occasions but got credit. Mostly, like their meat prices. 2 weeks ago I ordered there NSF double roasted turkey from the deli and found it quite good and at a great price in 7.99/lb. However, ordered it yesterday and it was absolutely disgusting. I noticed when I opened it that it was very slimy, seemed really old. We were heading to the beach so decided to use it anyway. But, once at the beach we had to throw the sandwiches away as I really feel like they gave me "bad" turkey. Won't order that again, but will go back. read more

One star for cleanliness & friendly staff, but that's it. No limit on how many people can be in the store at one time. Very narrow aisles & although neat & clean, a bit disorganized. For example, not all dairy products were even in the same aisle or even close to each other. Also very limited stock, probably because the store is so small. Either I couldn't find a product or if I could, the price was ridiculous. Many organic produce items, did not have any pricing listed anywhere. Not sure if that is intentional, because the prices are ridiculously high. Organic peppers were $7.99 a lb & I've never paid more than $4.99 a lb & only if I had no choice. Can usually get them for between $2.99 to $3.99 a lb. Their 1 lb containers of organic spinach were $8.99 a lb & I get the same product, at Whole Foods, for $4.99. They had the large container of Fage Greek Yogurt for $7.99;& I get that at Whole Foods for either $4.99 or $5.99. The same brand organic 2% milk that I get at Whole Foods for between $3.99 to $4.99, was $6.99. When we were checking out, there wasn't even any screen for us to view, to make sure that we were being charged the right price. And I had to ask the cashier to double bag a bag that he was putting glass jars, milk & other heavy items in. He was very nice & said sure. But he put the items in the single bag first, then lifted it, asking my husband & I to get the already packed heavy bag into the extra bag. Quite the struggle, but we did it. I visited North Shore Farms for the first time and unfortunately I will not be going back any time soon. Although the produce looked fresh and there are lots of options, management is doing a poor job of creating a safe environment for their employees and patrons. There was no one at the door limiting the number of people who enter nor did I see anyone disinfecting the carts. Because there is a tremendous amount of produce at the entrance, the flow was congested. Trying to figure out which pricing signs went to which produce (organic and non organic adjacent to each other) was very difficult and slowed down the traffic. Once past the produce, I realized just how crowded the store was. There was no directional way finding to allow for social distancing. The isles were narrow and the deli line created even more congestion. On a positive note, there was a friendly manager who asked if I need help finding something. COVID 19 is still a danger. NSF needs to show their customers just how serious they are about protecting their employees and customers. read more
