Third time trying this restaurant, hoping that things would improve in a post-covid world but sadly they haven't even a little bit. Service was lackluster; we seated ourselves and were not provided menus until we were seated for several minutes. The server never offered water and didn't take our drink order until she took our food order for several more minutes. The restaurant was not busy, there was one other family sat and one table that was just drinking. We ordered for three people and waited a whole hour for food. The server never offered to bring our appetizers or onion rings out first. The food that was delivered was a mix of mediocre. One plate with a slider and Mac and cheese had sat under the light for so long that the Mac and cheese dried on the top and the slider bun was tough and dry. Upon offering our feedback on the wait time and the quality of the food to the server she remarked that her service was good and the food was not her fault. In fact she shared with us that the cook on shift that evening (Nathan) was horrible to work with and had frequent outbursts, was constantly overwhelmed and that we would be better off coming when a different cook was on shift. She did not offer to comp any of our food. We all left feeling really bad about wanting to support a local business but committing to never visiting this restaurant again because it just sucked. It is wonderful to have a restaurant/bar so close to home. We enjoy our Saturday night drink and the occasional dinner from here. My wife and I have enjoyed North 3rd since it opened. Service is good once seated and food is good. We especially have liked the Nachos. We have told friends they are the best nachos around. Our friends have reported back that they too really like the Nachos. BUT...... the past week we've gone in twice, ordered Nachos and been very disappointed. Something has changed!! This was my second visit. The service was great and they were so friendly. The food was piping hot and delicious. My server was on point. Whenever I needed something I didn't even have to ask her. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch right after they opened on a Friday. The bartender/waitress was amazing and super hospitable. Exceptional service overall. Food was really good. I got a burger and my husband got the gyro. Both cooked very well and the fries were perfectly salted/seasoned. As it got busier the waitress was handling all the tables and still checking on us. Unfortunately in Stayton, OR there isn't alot to choose from. However, this place is fantastic and better than just about anything you'll find in bigger cities! We as a family had the poutine with fried cheese curds which was better than I imagined. The steak frites had hangar steak which is a high quality cut and was cooked a perfect medium rare. The caesar salad was refreshing and delicious. The beer battered cod was amazing and needed no garnishment. The beer selection rivals many other tap houses. The portions were generous and the price is well worth it. Definitely a go to place for my family in the future! read more

We recently visited North Third and had lunch there. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant, (there is a second side which is kid-friendly). The menu is a two-sided type and had a good variety of things to order. I ordered a Jalapeño Pepper Jack burger with fries. The burger looked very good when I got it. The burger patty appeared hand-made and it was absolutely delicious! It had cheese, a good amount of jalapeños and bacon! I even commented to my wife that it was the best burger I had had in a very long time! And the fries...oh my goodness, they were SO good!! Thick cut and fried to perfection! Very tasty. My wife ordered a simple burger called a Happy Burger. It was slightly smaller than my "regular" burger but also appeared to have a hand-made patty. It came with three different types of cheese and another generous portion of super delicious fries! I wish I had taken a picture of our food before we scarfed it down but, I didn't. Suffice to say, we will return for lunch again, (soon I hope), and I will get that Jalapeño Pepper Jack burger again!! I'm already looking forward to it. So good! Prices were right in line also. Loved the tunes and volume was just right.Food was good. No one came to see if food was good/need anything/refills. Had to ask for salt and pepper. She had a nice personality. Wait to get in was probably about 30 min. So probably about 2.5 hours total for a burger meal. We will give it another try for sure. read more

I agree with the previous post regarding wait times for food and service. Our table of 2 and one other table in the entire place, super slow service. Manager type person was sitting at the end of the bar eating his lunch of Chinese food, kind of shocking to see this as this person should be modeling better behavior as a manager. We had the fish & chips and the Jalapeño burger with drinks. Drinks were stiff and food was just basic..nothing too special. Not sure we will be back. read more

I tried this place on the recommendation of a friend. I was there mid-afternoon for a late lunch, not too crowded. I ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich, which was OK, but they use a lot of sauce, and the bread is chewy and tough to cut, so I couldn't pick it up like a sandwich, had to knife/fork it to eat. The fries were plentiful and excellent. They have a good range of choice for beers and ciders. Lots of sports TVs if you're into that. Pool tables. Went here yesterday for happy hour, but not so happy. There were three other tables of people and a couple people at the bar when we walked in. We ordered two sliders with fries and a fish taco off the happy hour menu. It took 45 minutes to get our food!!! And we had to walk up to the bar to order a second round of drinks. Three gals working, but I think we were bothering them. Food was pretty good once we got it and the atmosphere is cool, but we won't be going back. They took off one round of drinks and offered a dessert but we were ready to get out of there. Too bad. Stayton doesn't have many restaurants. This one could be great but maybe they should train their staff and have an owner or manager present to make sure guests are served appropriately. Was in there last Saturday night with 6 others. There were two other tables of 2 in the bar side as well. At about 8:50 we were told they were closing and we needed to pay our tab. The other two tables were also told it was time to leave as well as another couple who was immediately turned away as we were paying. How do you consider yourself a bar when you are closing at 9pm on a Saturday night with paying customers in there? This is the second time this has happened. The first was during the week and we just assumed that was the reason but not a Saturday night. So we went to check out North Third tonight and they were packed. We debated to go in the bar or restaurant, but we chose the bar because there were a few table open. We sat down and we were literally ignored but 3 servers for about 10mins. Finally a guy server told us there was a list that we needed to get on - mind you he is practically yelling at us from down the bar for all to hear. I told him we were not aware of that and maybe he should lock the bar door. He said "there's a sign that say wait to be seated" I told him that it did not say that, it says "watch your step". He continued to argue with me - making it a point to go over to the sign and whipped it around to everyone to prove to us when all of a sudden he realized it did IN FACT say "watch your step". Did he apologize?? Hell no!!! Will we ever go back? Maybe because we understand being full with limited servers but to be RUDE like that??? Very unprofessional!!! read more

This place is really cool inside and has a great menu. I have to say one wait staff there is horrible! She is the older short red hair woman. We are locals to Stayton and have had three dealings with this woman and all bad!! She is rude disrespectful and and possibly homophobic. We really hoped that the remodel from Rumors was going to be a good thing for Stayton but people like her reminds me of the poor service that Rumors was.
