The butterfly shrimp was tasty, but the sauce, not so much. Stumbled on to this place on a cloudy Saturday afternoon and got a stool at the bar and ended up staying all night. outstanding locals fun and full of opinions, a sassy barkeep that kept the glass full and explained the ridiculously low priced menu perfectly. The food was top shelf all the way and left overs were boxed and ready to go without asking. there are plenty of screens, games in the back, a porch, and the bathrooms were cleaner than most people's back home. this place has the perfect vibe and decor like your favorite crazy uncle's basement bar. Great parking and easy access for Uber - this place is a Salem treasure if you ask me and will be a not miss destination every time I am in town. read more

My partner and I were looking for a new bar in Salem and came across the rave reviews for Kelli's. Trust me those reviews are correct! I'm not certain what the names were of our two waitresses, but both were friendly and fun. Our food was phenomenal (pizza -- try the pizza!!) and our drinks were exceptional. I can't say enough about this place. The food is excellent. The place is clean! Even the floors. The price for a cheese burger was $5.95 and fried were $.50 more. The really impressive part was that it was real fresh ground meet. Not those frozen preformed patty's and the beef alone was delicious. The tater tots were super crispy and not at all greasy. I was almost murdered here, and I've heard from s friend it happened to him also. Do not go to Kelly's if you value your life. I was attacked, beaten and strangulated, and when I asked to use the phone to call 911, I was put out on the street and the door locked. I had to walk to the hospital, bloody, and disoriented from the stangulation. I had amnesia for a few days. I was a regular customer for 10 years or more before this happened to me. read more

Great neighborhood bar just wished we lived in the neighborhood. We found this place through Yelp and the reviews were right on. The drinks were more than reasonably priced and the food was fresh and tasty. My husband had the French dip while I tripped their personal pizza. Their pizza dough is made onsite and was perfectly crunch and soft at the same time. My husbands sandwich was tasty and the fries were crispy. Our server and owner Cherry was adorably attentive and personable making us feel as if we were old friends. Love this neighborhood bar just wish it were closer in our neighborhood. Kelli's is delicious, cheap, and clean! Seriously. The crossaint sandwiches are so good. Also, you wouldn't know it by walking in but they have some of the best pizza in town. Highly recommended. They also pour their drinks pretty heavy with the liquor. Always friendly. Always a good experience. If you plan to have more than a few drinks be sure to have a DD!! Moved to a new town, a new neighborhood, new job, time to find a new walkable hangout place. Mission accomplished. Kelli's fits the bill, small, cozy, unpretentious, lots of local, super attentive staff, plenty of monitors for watching a game if you are into sports, drinks are super cheap and heavily poured. Stone IPA is $3.50 a pint all the time, if you want more mass marketed macro stuff, PBR pints only $1.75. Standard tavern menu with sandwiches, burgers, etc, but also have homemade pizza and Stromboli. Tried the Stromboli on this venture and it was super, great dough, filled with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and opinions with a nicely flavorful sauce on the side. Might have to pick oa Kelli's night and make it a weekly tradition. read more

My partner and I ducked in here one afternoon while needing to kill a bit of time. We saw a tempting message on the daily specials board describing well drinks for happy hour, "tall and stiff"! My kind of daily special. We each had a tall whiskey, stuck around long enough for another round, and our bill came in under $10. This is a delightful little lottery dive, and as far as bar food, it's all on the menu -- also incredibly low-priced. Minus one star for the dirty-ish glass I was given. I ended up taking some of it home. They could have a better selection of beer, but the have the basics and I can live with that. Kelli's is my neighborhood bar. It's litterally a few blocks away and completely walkable, no drinking and driving for me! The atmosphere is small, but lively. TVs, pool table, jutebox, patio, clean bathrooms too. The pizza is really good and they have a decent beer selection and drink specials as well. This place has surprisingly good food for what kinda feels like a video pokee dive bar. But on a nice day try to find s seat on the patio. Not much bigger than a smokers corner but still nice place to sit and have a gin and tonic. Although Johnny's bar up the streat may have a more up-scale version of many of this bars features, you will get better food at a cheaper price that what Johnny's will charge you for a slapped-together FSA burger. Ok,went to the RV show at the State Fairgrounds today. We got done and my wife suggested happy hour! Beings that we live 30 miles away, we had no idea where to go. My wife and I like to hit some "off the beaten trail" joints, if it's good she takes responsibility for it. If it's bad, well, you know....... Let's just say she took responsibility for this one! Great time, Jeri and her family made us feel like we had been in there a hundred times before,but we were first timers! I'll just finish out withGREAT BEER, GREAT LEMON DROP (you think, how do you screw up a lemon drop, according to my wife, it's pretty simple) we had a pizza......... Homemade dough, great sauce, lots of cheese--- it was awesome! It doesn't look like much, from outside or inside, but the service, the drinks, the family and the food. We will be looking for reasons to go back down to Salem so we can go back! Oh did I mention, the Jell-O shots?
