We were visiting from Seattle and chose The Gallon House for dinner since they had a dog friendly patio. We ordered the grilled cheese, the chicken wrap, the fried pickles, the pretzel logs, and fries. Prices were reasonable (we had to ask for the happy hour menu though). Unfortunately, the food was okay at best. The grilled cheese tasted burnt and stale, the fries were a little shriveled, and the chicken wrap was dry and pretty bland. The fried pickles and pretzel logs were super yummy and the best part of the meal. We would try somewhere else if we were in the area again. read more

We had just finished a walk at Oregon Gardens and decided on Gallon House Pub for our lunchtime destination. Now Silverton is a busy town and parking is a precious commodity . Luckily, a space opened up after circling the block a couple times. As for the pub, we were seated outside (it was a pleasant day), and the waitress was pleasant. We ordered a Candy Bacon Blue burger which was delicious, a wet chicken sandwich ( a little dry) with spicy sauce, a bacon cheeseburger and teriyaki chicken and rice ( unfortunate) which lacked a flavor and was disappointing. We also upgraded to onion rings( crispy!). Portion sizes were excellent and prices were reasonable! Would definitely come here again. Just avoid the teriyaki chicken ( little chicken and all rice). read more

The Gallon House - August 24, 2025 We came in for an early lunch on a Sunday at about 11:45. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She got our drinks out right away and took our order. We sat on the outdoor patio , which has nice tables with umbrellas. We split the quesadilla appetizer, which was very tasty. It came with a lime aioli as well as a tasty pico de gallo. The peach cider was very tasty as was the Breakside Brewery Wonderjack IPA beer. The only disappointment about sitting on the outside patio is it's on a busy corner and there was a lot of street noise. Other than that it was very nice. read more

Downtown Silverton is so cute and has a lot of options! The Gallon House is good. They even had a sort of obscure cider I like! The food is kind of pricy but they say everything is scratch made so it seems worth it. The French fries are really good!!! read more

The food was fine--nothing exceptional, but nothing offensive. That said, it certainly wasn't good enough to justify the rest of our experience, which was, frankly, appalling. Let's start with cleanliness: there was not a single table or seating area that wasn't covered in crumbs or food debris. Despite there being more staff than customers, only one employee appeared to be doing anything beyond standing around. The fact that no one took a moment to sweep the floor or wipe down tables is unsettling--and frankly makes me wonder what the kitchen must look like behind the scenes. Speaking of wiping tables--when we asked for ours to be cleaned, it was done with a rag and water bucket that were downright disgusting. The rag was filthy, the water looked worse, and the bucket was placed right next to the water pitchers. I can't say whether cross-contamination happened, but I watched them reach over the pitcher to grab a sopping wet rag from the deplorable bucket of "cleaning solution", and I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Now, about the manager--Jordan (I believe that was her name). Her attitude was shocking. She was visibly irritated by our simple request to have the table cleaned and couldn't even muster a basic greeting or acknowledgment. Instead, we were rushed through ordering as if our presence was an inconvenience. She stood within arm's reach of us for most of our visit and never once looked our way. The only redeeming part of our experience was Alex--one of the few staff members who actually seemed to care and made an effort to keep things moving. Unfortunately, one competent employee can't make up for a completely broken front-of-house operation. This wasn't just a disappointing meal. It was an uncomfortable, unhygienic, and unprofessional experience from start to finish. We had initially hoped this could be a good spot to bring clients in the area for consultations--needless to say, that idea's been completely scrapped. We won't be back, and we'll be warning others to steer clear as well. read more

I stopped here spontaneously when driving through Silverton. Wow!!!! I had the BEST burger and fries I've in years. So very, very, very good. Service was super good, too. And prices were reasonable, too. We ate outside, too, which was lovely. We will be back!!!! read more

Good golly, amazing portobello pesto sandwich!!! Fries are fantastic and the other people in my group have no complaints: chicken teriyaki bowl and mozzarella sticks (you get 3 and they are HUGE)! Recommend stopping in if you're passing through. We stopped in after picking up kiddos from summer camp. Service was perfect as we got caught up on all the adventures the kids had; sodas kept flowing. Would love to come back and try some of the beer on tap. read more

I was really excited to hear that Gallon House was going to have a special for prime rib on Friday... We have been there a few times before and the last few times things have been mediocre at best... I was really hopeful for my prime rib. I ordered it rare, and it came out leathery and more of a medium rare... The veggies were clearly from frozen, and they were more watery than even tasting like a vegetable... the mashed potatoes that came with it were very unflavored. I had to add a lot of pepper and salt and even then it was just not tolerable. My husband got Mac & Cheese, which was meh at best. Not sure if something has changed, but very disappointed... our waitress was very sweet and polite, and made it right... the ambience is super cool and love the outdoor seating... But I'm hoping the food can become consistent again... We will try again, but we're gonna give it some time... read more

Stopped in for lunch while driving around Silverton, on our way to The Oregon Garden. We picked this place mainly for their outdoor pet-friendly patio seating. We were greeted and seated right when we walked in. They were pretty busy, so it took a bit for drinks and food order. We ordered the Mushroom Bleu Burger with salad and the Chicken Club sandwich with fries. Both were really good. My only complaint is the bathrooms. They were dirty and smelly...like they need a good top to bottom deep cleaning. If I would have visited them before my meal, I probably would have chosen to leave and find a different restaurant. Stopped on by for a beer and bite to eat after hiking at Silver Falls State Park...much needed! This was one of the few places open later on a Tuesday night during the pandemic so we gave it a try. I was glad to see the staff obeying the mask guidelines as well as the tables being outside and socially distanced. We were waited on in a timely manner and able to get our orders in before the kitchen closed. The beer was refreshing and the food came out with no quality issues despite the late ordering, and was actually quite delicious! I just wish the menu was larger to expand the style as the options seemed random but interesting. We ordered takeout from the Gallon House tonight. We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, the Classic Burger, and the Nashville Hit Chicken Sandwich. Everyone was very pleased with their food. I ate the Nashville Chicken and would recommend it to anyone who likes a little heat with their sandwich. The chicken was spicy and crunchy and the bun held up well (doesn't always happen with takeout). Overall, I KNOW we will be back. read more

Visited and it was pretty empty. Didn't receive water for 10 minutes and was about 15 minutes before they took drink or food orders. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and it was cold. We had spent the day in the area and wanted to end our night with some burgers. After we got sat and placed our order, it became clear that we were going to be served last even though the restaurant was empty save for a couple tables. We had decided to order burgers and the fish and chips. 25 minutes after our order was placed, we were informed that there was no fish. The table that came in after us received their food prior to us being told about the no fish. When we asked how long on the burgers, we were told another 10 minutes. When they came out, they were well over cooked when we had asked for medium cook all around, and a hair was found in one of the burgers. The hostess was great and was very clear about their Covid regulations up front, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our server seemed to be completely disengaged and the food was just so so. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main dishes. All of our drinks were empty for an extended period of time and when one of us went in to use the restroom, the waitress was hanging out by he bar playing on her phone. Again I need a 1/2 star. 3.5 is exactly right but I rounded up to 4 because of yelp and the beer menu. Holy schmolly they have 30 taps!!! This is a rather good restaurant in a hole in the wall little town. Got the pulled pork sandy with frys. Dang! In a good way. :) fed the 3 of us and 2 beers for less than $50. Not bad at all. Service was ok. Our server was new and she did as good of a job as she could have. Not bad by any means and she'll get better. Next time I'm getting the gallon burger and a couple more beers. After a visit to the Oregon Garden on a cloudy afternoon - we decided to try the Gallon House. Great classic rock playing, few people there, friendly service by Hailey - who singlehandedly ran the joint! Hailey delivered food and drinks with a smile, and very efficiently for someone who it appears does it all - except the cooking. Huge tap selection, interesting menu items - we decided to pig out and had the fried portobello shrooms, the mac and cheese AND the Steak Frites...yummy! (the steak had a few gristly pieces - but very tastily sauced). Kudos to whoever hired Hailey! She really keeps it moving with a personable and smiley manner - that's hard work! read more
