The team was friendly, professional, and the turnaround time was excellent. After I picked up my car, one of the lights on the dashboard came on, so I stopped back in. They were kind enough to reset the computer and told me to come back if it happened again. It hasn't come on since, so everything seems to be working perfectly. Referred to Brent and his shop by an area mechanic - I was looking for a good mechanic with reasonable rates. Glad I came here! First vehicle - AC stopped working, out of the blue. Dropped it off to Brent. Brent called me the next morning to tell me that the AC was blowing ice cold and he didn't see anything wrong. Went to pick up the vehicle and Brent didn't charge me for it. Later, I dropped off my son's truck to have the brakes fixed since it had started to grind. [Had previously taken the truck to the dealer for another issue and the dealer informed me of the issues with the brakes but their quote was too high!]. At any rate, Brent took a look at the truck and advised as to what needed to be done and gave me a very reasonable quote. Let's just say that the quote was about half of what the dealer had quoted. Needless to say, I was happy with the quote and gave Brent the go ahead. Picked up the truck later that day and it's been working great! Even took the truck on a road trip to Cali and the brakes worked quite well driving back in the train all the way from Oakland. We had tried going online and having "diesel techs" come to our house and help our truck which was dead for a good 5 months. They ended up taking our engine apart and leaving it, stealing tools and never coming back. We had it towed to North Valley Auto. This was the closest place we could tow it. They did an outstanding job with our truck putting it all back together and fixing what needed to be fixed. They know our 2002 7.3 diesel well. I didn't have to take it to a more expensive and longer wait diesel place. Thank God for that. A year later when more things started going wrong, they got us in and got it done..A+ work and attitude..AND took the time to show me things about my truck. So I took my car in to get the compressor replaced for my AC. They got me in quickly and fixed it that same day. $300 less than places in town. Only one other shop had this price. These guys have earned my respect and trust and I will always go to them for any of my auto needs. Local guys, very trustworthy. We live in south reno and it is totally worth the drive to the north valleys. My story: The brakes on our dodge started grinding. I go to Les Schwab for the free inspection because they are close to my home. I am told that my brake pads are completely gone and grinding metal, too dangerous to drive home and I should replace x, y and z for $550. I tell him I need to discuss with my husband and drive home very carefully and pretty scared. My husband tells me to call north valley automotive. We take the dodge in the next morning to Brent and Erik. They said my brake pads, rotors etc are completely fine and that a bolt had broken. They got the part, fixed it and it was only $120. 10-13-2013 So yes I had to go back :( my check engine light came on! Ugh, shit two mos ago I had to just do my timing belt. Now what..... Crankshaft :( Ok, yes in heard the other review left and it did have me wondering, but needless to say Brad still worked with me and did the work all in one day at half the labor cost because I was just in in August for them to do my belt.
