Brought my 2009 Prius in for a front-end alignment. Advisor Ben checked me in as soon as I walked in. Work was underway 10 minutes after my arrival; tech Johnny discovered a coolant leak that I was unaware of and brought it to my attention when he returned the car to me. Noticed the improvement in steering the first mile I drove the car. Great experience start to finish, no upsell or pressure of any kind and the price was reasonable as well. There was no pressure so I went home and checked my car maintenance schedule and the maintenance was due so I scheduled an appointment to have it done. AAA sent me information on their repair shop. I have been going to another shop for several years but decided to give them a try. The note they sent me was for a free vehicle check up. We brought out truck in as we don't use it often and we had our last inspection and clean bill of health a few years ago. But since then we did take several trips with it to Vegas. I was not expecting much to be wrong but boy was I wrong on that. When we left we were given a repair order for 9 items. Some were maintenance issues like flush brakes and radiator flush. But some others were big issues like control arms, boots and two batteries that were needing replaced. Each item was itemized with price like I ask for. But even with the AAA discount it was going to cost several grand. So for a second opinion we took it to the shop we usually go to and found some items are the list were inaccurate and others did not need to be replaced, like the batteries. The two main items were correct. Why would I be charged for things that I did not need? Some items were based on the fact that my truck was an older truck. I have found that you always need at least two estimates. Many times I have found one spot to be wrong or with a higher than normal price. The place was dead when we went there so I did get right in and everyone was cordial to us, therefore I gave them two stars. read more

I have been a AAA member for several years in California. We have our house and autos insured with AAA and have Plus towing coverage. We also get our vehicles serviced at the AAA auto repair center in Davis. And I have been very pleased with the high level of service and the trust developed over the years with AAA. Which is why I was so disappointed with the incompetence and poor service provided by the AAA Sparks Auto repair center. Our Toyota Corolla would not start and was towed to the Sparks location on a Friday and did not get serviced until the following Tuesday. And to add insult to injury, they misdiagnosed (at a cost of $191) the cause of the mechanical breakdown stating that I needed a new engine with an estimated cost of over $12k. After a short discussion with the service advisor Ben, I sensed there was something fishy going on and did not trust Ben's assessment. So, I had the Corolla towed to the Davis AAA location at a cost of $490 out of my own pocket to have it diagnosed. Within a few hours, they had the car up and running stating the engine had flooded causing the non-start. They also replaced the battery, spark plugs, and air filter. The car now runs great and with only 112k miles on it, will probably run a long time. SO, WHAT'S UP WITH THE SPARKS AAA REPAIR CENTER?! Incompetence? Or did they just not care about customer service? Whatever the case, I highly recommend not going there for auto repairs. My trust in AAA has taken a hit, at least with out of state facilities. read more

Made in appointment a week ago, yes they were booked till then, indicated had a coupon for free tire rotation and 69.95 oil change. Was told to bring it with me. Morning of appointment pulled up coupon and when I clicked on it ,it showed at the bottom valid to 01/24/2024 ! Before heading down called the AAA service center and spoke to Brian, felt he was evasive and said to come down with coupon and he can check it out. Told him I have code can't you look it up? Gave him code and he said couldn't find that particular coupon but have printed coupons . I asked again do you have the promotion you're still advertising. Brian answered no we do not! Told him it's still on your website being advertised 2 month's later!! He said". Doesn't have control over that. Told him check into it . I'll check your site in a week if it's still on your web site I'll report it as deceptive. I think Brian must have thought I hung up, all I could hear is "what a dick! read more

I went there for a check engine light and paid $173 and was told they can't service my vehicle and that I should visit the dealership. I went to dealership and was told they can't use the report that I got from AAA and I have to pay the dealership again. Lesson learn if you have a check engine light go to the dealer and don't waste your money at AAA because they aren't allowed to fix your vehicle and only the Dealership can. Use AAA for basic repairs and that's it. read more

I've never used an AAA shop before (didn't even know AAA had their own shops) but when my car wouldn't start after a dinner out I called their emergency # and was pleased with the overall response. 1st their truck arrived within 15 minutes of my call with the technician trying everything he had to jump start it. No go hence he offered their tow service to take it to any shop I wanted. As the normal dealer I have recently gone to charged me $200 to change the cabin & engine air filters (!) I asked him for recommendations. He mentioned their shop but didn't push it but at that time of night I wasn't going to mull it over so OKed the tow to their shop. At 8 AM the next morning received call from Zak at the shop saying a cell in the battery was dead hence the battery needed to be replaced. I authorized it and at 10:30 AM got the next call saying it was done so I could pick it up. Over all excellent service! Thanks. read more
