My family and I recently did the "Help Save Christmas" room at North Valley Escape Room. We had such a blast! We had 6 people as young as 6 and 9 up to someone in their 60s. Each person had so much fun and could help in every piece of the puzzles. We needed a few hints but still managed to escape before time ran out. I was lucky enough to try an escape room at North Valley Escape Room. Our Girl Scout troop voted to do escape rooms as our end of the year celebration and I am so glad they did. After talking with staff there we opted to book, the great outdoors and the genie's lamp. My group did the genie's lamp and I have to say it was fun. Luckily we were able to escape with 4 minutes to spare, but it was challenging. It was the perfect room for our mixed group of 4 girls (ages 7-11) and 2 adults. Our other group did the great outdoors and they said it was lots of fun even though they were not able to escape. They did say that you do start off in the dark, so I wanted to share that for anyone wondering. The attention to detail at these rooms was spot on and amazing. They are definitely one of the best escape rooms I have been too. I can totally see myself coming back again. read more

This was my 1st time doing an escape room here in Arizona. I can proudly say: My group of 10, all ESCAPED!!! Woohoo!!! ::insert happy dance:: We put all our genius minds together and defeated "The Haunted Great Outdoors" room. We had a total of 60 mintues to make it out ALLIIIIVVEEE. (8 minutes to spare) Definitely cannot judge a book by its cover. From the outside, the area looks small. I thought it was going to be just one room with a bunch of puzzles...but to my surprise we had to find clues in 3 rooms! This escape room was perfect for us all to get into the Halloween spirit. The game masters were super nice and helpful and I was really impressed with the overall layout of the room. We did the 7th stone room and there were hidden doors and all sorts of fun stuff to discover! It was listed as a 5/10 difficulty but I thought it was a bit harder than that honestly, but it was still really fun!! We did manage to solve the room with one minute left to go. It was my aunt's first time going to an escape room and she absolutely loved it!! We are going to check out the circus one next! Super fun!! One of the better escape rooms I have been to! We have been going to North Valley Escape room for over 2 years, and they are incredible! Very detailed rooms that flow wonderfully. It has always been a great time whenever we go, but last night takes the cake! At Christmas they have these fun advent calendars and my girls' loved last year's, but when we went on Black Friday to do their Christmas room (a fun festival time, highly recommend the room), the calendars for this year hadn't arrived from their supplier yet. I followed up a week later and was told they were in. I planned on going after work to grab it, but my meeting ran super later and I didn't get there until almost 9. I called on my way to check and see if they were still open (google said yes, but I wanted to verify). I was connected to Don the owner who told me they had left early because there wasn't a booking but they were only a few minutes away and Kristin their manager came back and opened up just to make sure my trip wasn't wasted. She was super friendly and nice about having to come back too! It had been a terrible day but Don and Kristin made sure it ended on a happy note! We have done several rooms and this location and escaped a good handful of them. Our game hosts have always been happy and patient with us which can have big effect on the game experience. We have our eyes on Alcatraz and the circus rooms but are trying to get more room practice in before trying them. We each have different favorites, but for me it was The great outdoors and Steampunk railway. Super immersive and fun surprises. read more

This was my first time going to one of these escape rooms. It was totally different then I excepted it to be. Found a Groupon for a really good deal for 10 of us for my brothers birthday. We did the haunted escape room. So there's cameras in each room I guess cause they can see what your doing and help you out if you need it. If you need a clue you just ask and it will appear on the screen. Also they do try to scare you sometimes like flickering the lights or knocking on the door unexpectedly. I thought we were suppose to be looking for clues or keys in the room. There isn't much clues or keys as I thought there will be be. There was a ton of locks though! Honestly we just kept playing with the locks till we can get it open. Also there is a door to get to the other room. And another. We did ask for clues cause we were stuck. Some things we got open before we were suppose too. We were so close we just needed to solve one more step and we would have one. It was really cool. Definitely would come again! read more

This was my first time at an escape room and I have to say it was a blast! We tried the room called "Escape from Alcatraz" which happened to be one of the hardest rooms to escape from. Unfortunately, we did not get out In time but the experience was so much fun! There is so much thought behind these rooms it certainly makes for an interesting time. Would definitely go back to try another room. The only downfall is that it can get pretty pricey, i think it was like $120 after tax for an hour and a half of playing time but definitely worth trying it at least once ! read more

This escape room is a bit of a drive, but for good a reason. It has to be way out here in a big complex to have ample space for the rooms. Some escape rooms have multiple rooms and the rooms can be big depending which one you do. Well without giving too many spoilers, I really like this place because of the way it uses multiple sections of the building in the puzzle. We did the haunted camp ground and it uses the same room as the regular camp ground, just modified with some spooky additions and speci al puzzles. In fact, the story builds off the regular camp ground puzzle. I think the plot and stories of the rooms are so so but the puzzles themselves have a wide range of variety from locks, to math, to secret word decoding to stretch your code cracking skills to the fullest. Other tidbits: For the claustrophobic... the beginning area where you enter the room always stays open in case of those who have emergencies or anxiety. There are mind teaser puzzles to do in the lobby while you wait. Verizon service doesn't get signal on your phone at this location, but they have free WiFi. On the upside, they have charging station with a wireless charger that also has several cords for multiple phones to plug into! read more

Oh man, what a night?! My family was crazy and decided to do 3 in one night including Al Catraz, the curse from fall mountain and Slaycation. We started off with Alcatraz and I must say the staff really get into character and make the escape experience extremely fun. It was a tough challenge and somehow we made it through! The endings of each escape were all satisfying and different from each other. Each puzzle was both challenging but made sense in the context of the game. Clues and guidance were actually helpful and the game master was so fun. I HIGHLY recommend the drive and my family might be crazy enough to make another drive out to complete the Steampunk and circus rooms. The escape room also was very creative and wasn't just opening combination locks. I was impressed with the quality of the puzzles. We have been big supporters of this venue for the last 4 years and we've truly enjoyed the anticipation of a new room and getting to experience it as they had set an industry standard with their quality of rooms and exceptional customer service. And, no, I do not only post negative reviews. In fact, I had previously posted a 5-star review for this same venue and sang their praises. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed and disappointed with our latest experience playing their new room, The Genie's Lamp, in terms of both customer service and the quality of the room. But not so much that I had any intention of posting a negative review on it. However, what later transpired between me and the owner, Jeff, is what has now prompted this review. I posted a comment (not a review as I did not want to negatively impact their rating) stating we were disappointed in our experience and felt the quality of their room and customer service had deteriorated noticeably over the years and that the room paled in comparison to many of their other rooms. I did this simply to share my experience for others to read about should they consider playing this room. There is a big following in the ER world and enthusiasts come to know specific venues and come to expect certain standards from them based on past experiences with them. My comment was not well received by the owner, Jeff, so he deleted it. I reposted it and then he called me. It was a pleasant enough conversation although I felt he was making excuses by saying he hires high school and college students and how I wouldn't believe how stupid they can be and how they have no common sense. I told him it sounds like it's a training issue. He went out to say how he works two full-time jobs in addition to having the escape room. (I didn't realize that was a legit reason to not have good customer service from yourself and your staff.) He even agreed how important good customer service is. He mentioned multiple times about how he doesn't like to see negative things about them on social media and repeated several times about them being a small family business. He explained that the room was purchased from a lady in Ohio, which completely explains why it didn't meet the same standards and expectations of their previous rooms. He explained how it takes around 8 months to build a room. Apparently, they wanted something quicker than that. The speed cost them some quality, imo. But regardless, the conversation was positive for the most part and it ended positively with no reason for us not to continue supporting them when new rooms open. After our call ended, I noticed he had once again deleted my comment. Imo, a phone call doesn't then mean I'm not still allowed to share my experience online if I so choose to. I reposted my comment a third time. This resulted in Jeff calling me again and I had 4 missed calls from him within an 8-minute window. Is that necessary? Is that harassment at that point? He then left me the following voicemail, which is transcribed verbatim (I would add the actual audio if I could but it doesn't allow me the option to attach it on a review): "Hey Terra. It's Jeff over at North Valley Escape Room. Um, I feel sorry for you. If this is all you have to do in life, I feel bad for you. I would probably get some mental help. But I called you, I was nice to you, I explained things to you. Not sure why you feel the need to go bash a small family business. You're a disgrace." ^^This is the reason I'm now posting this review. This is a BUSINESS OWNER talking to a CUSTOMER this way. How is this ever acceptable? And how is it acceptable to badmouth your employees to a customer? This place will NEVER get my business EVER AGAIN and I will share this experience with any and every one that I can. Regardless of his reason for doing so, he took it one step too far and showed his true colors to me. There are many other escape room owners that are respectful and appreciate their customers. Fun, spooky, Challenging, race your friends and even adrenaline pumping on the Steampunk Train! They recently redid an original room (the haunted great outdoors) with outstanding upgrades. We had our team builder here today. It was a blast! I had never done one of these things before, yet had always wanted to. Today was the day! We had about 8 people on our "team" and did the "Principal's Office" room. We did not escape, but were pretty close. 2 steps away. We lagged too much on the very first clue and it cost us in the end. Should have asked for help earlier (this was the first time doing one of these rooms for 7 out of the 8 of us). Staff was great! I would definitely come back! read more

Great place! The whole experience was amazing, fun and addicting! Went here with group a friends, we decided to do The Great Outdoors room there. It was crazy difficult but also super enjoyable. There were plenty of riddles, puzzles and story to really enjoy for everyone. Coming to a place like this you want your group to work as a team and this place brings out the best of everyone... unless your are one of those crazy competitive people like me then it will be a test of patience. But again it was all great. The staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. They did a great job at setting us up for the whole experience but tricking... you know, I don't want to ruing that part of the experience. The staff did a good job at letting our group try out the puzzles and guiding us along the way but not giving away the whole thing. Huge thanks to our host and the rest of the staff. This was a far drive for us but it was worth it! At this point I've probably done about 15+ rooms. I went with 3 others and had 2 randoms joined us. Thankfully, these randoms were awesome!! We had a good group and our game master was great. I did alcatraz and this is their hardest room. I've done another Alcatraz themed one at another place but North Valley Escape Room blows them out of the water. Here are some pros and cons: PROS: 1. Good production 2. So out of curiosity about this Escape Room thing, we gave it a try! And we actually liked it! We went to a place in Anthem last time and we indeed loved it, we had so much fun! So this is the first place we tried, and we were actually very impressed! This place is meticulously done and carefully planned design wise. We first tried the "escape from Alcatraz", and it was soo much! We really enjoyed it! Teamwork is always the key! The sheer number of rooms (and the additional time allotted to explore), plus the in-depth immersive experience alone make the room top-notch. This is an escape mansion, not an escape room. Went with my three girl friends from work. It was our first escape room experience ever. To be honest we were all very nervous at work for the two prior days. We are V competitive. We had literally no idea what to expect. We of course did the infamous Escape from Alcatraz. Pros: staff was amazing, design brilliant, craftsmanship top notch, puzzles challenging and plentiful, way larger than I was expecting. Cons: we were only crafty enough to make it through to the halfway point. What was great is there wasn't a group waiting to do Alcatraz after us so were able to buy another time slot and made it through....with a little help from some clues. I cannot remember when I have had this much fun doing anything! I cannot wait to try their other rooms. They have new ones rolling out all the time. Thank you for a great experience and memory. I had a total blast and can't wait to go back!! At first I was unsure of what this entailed and how it all works. I was searching for something different to do and this was great! I love the teamwork and puzzles. I don't want to give any spoilers so I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by just how detailed the "room" was and so well constructed. Very interactive and fun!! They have different escape rooms that vary in difficulty of challenge. Another nice aspect was that there are "escape rooms" with the ability to do a team competition. Such as 2 groups working to see who completed the challenge first. I went with 3 friends (4 total in our group) but we had a private experience which means our group wasn't mixed with others. But that is optional. At the end we all left so excited to have SUCCESSFULLY completed it and all said we would plan to go back again. I also called on a Friday late afternoon and was able to be scheduled for that same night!! Great for last minute people like myself. Always a fan of a well made escape room. My group and I showed up to this puzzle place to do the Legend of the 7th stone escape room. On entry, you find a simple office space, as are many of the escape rooms I've been to, with a check in desk, several chairs and puzzles to keep you busy while you wait. Once again, as one would expect with a puzzle room, I will provide no clue solutions. We entered the escape room, and the room was quite well made. You could almost imagine you really were in a hollywood version of a temple. The puzzles were complex enough to be challenging, but simple enough that our group wasn't overwhelmed. When we did get stuck, the proctors did a great job of stepping in. On talking with the guys afterwards, their attention to detail and care for the rooms was great and they take pride in them! Would I recommend someone to travel to Anthem to play these rooms? Definitely. They are well done and well worth it! read more

First off, I love North Valley Escape Room. From the employees to the rooms to the experience. I've done family events there along with date-nights to birthday parties. That being said, our family tried out the Sabotage room on our last visit. I've never been more disappointed in an escape room before. It's like the thought process behind the room was just to put as many locks and keys as possible into a single 10x10 room and let people figure it out. The connection to clues felt off and the flow of the game was outright clunky. I've never had a bad experience at a room before until that one. My entire family left that room thinking that room should be scrapped. Even after saying that, I'll still continue to support North Valley Escape Room. Just wish they could improve upon the Sabotage room. read more
