We were invited to a morning birthday party for a long time student athlete and friend to play paintball, mind you it is 108 this afternoon! We rolled up and the location is unassuming and slightly intimidating but within seconds the manager came out to the lot introduced himself ( I am horrible with names, I know rude of me.) and welcomed us and directed us to the right area. Ridiculously nice staff, we had two referees and both were personable helpful and kept the entire party safe by reminding any participants instantly of safety violations. In a situation like this safety is paramount, and they were assertive but reasonable and caught every single infraction. Without making the players feel ignorant but reinforcing the importance and not letting them slack. Punishment was "sweeping the sunshine off the parking lot". They had numerous game options, all the rental equipment performed flawlessly. They hosed us down between games and has plenty of chilled water at the staging area and near the fields. We have limited paintball experience but had a blast, after years of Airsoft at a local indoor facility the difference was insane. Great staff clear instruction, assertive yet understanding referees, safety wasn't a punchline like Airsoft lately. I would highly recommend them based on staff instruction and safety, as well as a welcoming environment for a game that involves literally shooting people & being shot at. Even in the oppressive heat of AZ Summer they kept us cool and hydrated, and the entire group had a blast! read more

Badly managed place. Careless attitude of the guys managing the place. My 12 yr old had paintball injuries on his hand. While the older guys had gloves no one bothered to give or ask the kids for gloves. Several kids in the kids birthday party went in without gloves. They can ask for payment rather than carelessly taking the kids in without proper gear knowking very well the chances of being hit in hands is high in this sport. Moreover a very indifferent attitude on any after care for the wound. I would not recommend this place. There are other better managed places in the valley for this sport. read more

I can say this is a 5 star setup without even having the pleasure to play a round here. We had our bachelor party plans up-ended last minute by an out-of-state COVID restriction, and despite the no refund policy (& the fact that we know these guys have to be hurting) they were kind & sympathetic and gave us a full refund when they didn't have to. A day at Splatter Ranch is a ton of fun and perfect place on a cool autumn day in Phoenix. Unlike other paintball locations, this place operates in 20 minute rounds of "games" - almost always splitting the groups into two teams. Whether it's capture the flag, save the president, or just a classic elimination game - I really appreciated the organization and focus on safety here. The game structure is also perfect as you won't get completely splattered in paint - maybe a few shots per game but it won't be as messy an outing as usual. I'll definitely be back here - the only reason it's 4 Stars is that I found the check-in process and customer service in the waiting area to be a bit disorganized. Splatter ranch is a fantastic desert terrain to play on with a great mix of washes, trees, shrubs, small houses. The field is big and when there are enough people the full field is so big that each team can't see the other when the start. The referess are great at Splatter Ranch and it is the safest field I have been to. This is the only field that I will bring my family to play. Be sure to check out the scenario games once a month if you like the idea of working together and using strategy, of course you can still just blast away at anything that moves if you want too. Be sure to look at the memberships if you play much and always buy the loyalty card for $2 because you get points for dollars spent and freebies every month. This place is great! I am a paintball player from Hawaii, and this is definitely better than anything we have here. This field was huge. There are two woodsball fields on Oahu, neither is as large as this. I was very happily surprised. The staff is very professional and organized. Really nice guys, and knew their stuff, and put safety first. I went in December, when it was cool, so it was pretty good. during the summer, it must be killer out there. I went with two novice cousins, and the staff and other players were very good to them. The thing that blew me away the most is the organization of the field. Everything from the waiver signing, to the equipment handling and game running. They have a timer clock that runs to make sure that you can fit in a good amount of games in a day, as well as have enough rest (10 minutes) in between rounds. Chrono check before EVERY game, which I applaud to keep people honest. Once out on the field, they run 2 games before heading back out, which I love, because its perfect to play, not super long run time to make you exhausted, but long enough to make the walk to the field worth it. I also love that they have the dead box on the field, a safe place to take off your mask, on longer game stretches, its a luxury to be able to take off your mask and rest. The field paint is pretty decent quality, not Evil or Dye CG, but definitely better than the $30 walmart/sports authority stuff. They also have a little stand where you can buy Pretzels, hot dogs or hamburgers and drinks, which is nice. Overall, this field is definitely the best that I have been to so far, and I will try to always come here when I stop by in AZ. read more

We went with a group of ten for my son's birthday. Overall the day was a blast, the staff was extremely helpful, the field was awesome and the assortment of games kept things entertaining. I am giving 4 stars due to things that may or may not be in control of the facility. If you are new to the game, be cautious of the "Members". Some of them are extremely rude and they take manipulate the rules. Examples: 1. One individual, whom was taken out early during one game, became belligerent off the field, complaining about the "Newbies" who did not follow his directions. He began name calling and using offensive language in front of my wife and a couple of the kids. 2. 3 "Members" who force you to call for a paint check on themselves (instead of self exiting), also use Paint Checks (they call on you regardless if they hit you or not) to flank other players and even target individuals while the ref has them locked down. I personally watched and complained to the ref as one individual literally complained and walked over to paint check me himself buying time for 3 other members to surround me and shoot (one even before the ref left). Unfortunately, instead of spending the rest of our day talking about how much fun we had, we spent our time discussing how the "Members" behaved and acted. read more

This place is a nightmare. Do not bring families here. We brought a birthday party of 10 boys and girls and it was terrible from the start. They didn't show anyone orientation videos, at least 1/3 of the guns were defective and had to be constantly replaced, ruining the children's games. The staff was obnoxious, rude, and unattentive. They offer no food or drinks and price gouge on the paintballs compared to other venues. We spent over $700 for 10 kids and 3 adults and spent most of our time staging or repairing guns or equipment. Do yourself a favor and go to any other place not affiliated with Splatter Ranch. Worst kids birthday experience ever! read more

Do not waste your time. What a joke!!! We took my son here for a birthday party and spent hundreds of dollars. For the 2nd game they played a game called capture the president and of course my son was the president because it was his birthday. Needless to say my son ended up laying on the ground with 4-5 people shooting him at point blank range. Furthermore, the staff was no where in sight. Completely agree with Nick B....NOT CHEAP and staff busy doing "other things" Also agree with David L...most of the time is spent staging and sitting around. Had a party of 5. At the facility a total of 2 1/2 hours and only on the field (including walking to location and time sitting out after being shot) for less than 35 minutes. Staff was VERY unorganized! Right after our group got equipment, they were shuffled off to orientation while all other players went out to the field. That round, staff decided to play multiple games and were on the field for almost 1hr 10 minutes while our group of 5 sat geared up on the picnic tables the entire time waiting. If of the 3 remaining staff in the trailer would have been paying ANY attention, they would have walked our group out to the field to join the next game rather than have them wait for everyone to play multiple games, come back, rest then gear up again. Also, when our group was finally allowed to go out, staff announces "next game two minutes be ready"...what they really mean is we will go in 10 - 15 minutes, but take your time if your a regular and have been here all day, by all means, do whatever you need to do...it's ok to make everyone else wait, and we will go out to the field when you're ready. (That was the most expensive "two minutes" of my life). Essentially, the way it is operated it costs about $1.37 a minute per person (includes play time and walking to the field time). Could be so much better if staff were aware and organized. read more

Our first paintball experience and Splatter Ranch made it a great one! It was a friend's birthday and we had a group of 8, with the group rate we were able to get equipment (paintball gun, mask, chest protector, ammo container with belt) and 300 rounds of paint balls for only $32 each! The staff was very friendly and explained the rules and tips prior to getting out on the field. They had a wide array of games, my favorite being capture the flag and split up the teams as close to fair as possible. They have referees all over the field so if you have a conflict you could tell them (although many people were cheating by staying on the field when they were obviously hit). Overall had a great time and they gave us a bunch of vouchers for 2 for one deals. They also have a ladies night at their indoor location which we plan on taking advantage of in the near future. I felt like I was literally in a game of Call of Duty or Halo, it gets your adrenaline pumping for sure! read more

We just got back from Westworld's Splatter Ranch location off of Jomax and Scottsdale road. This is an outdoor paintball arena. I was not looking forward to being outside all day in the heat, but they provide ample shade, a mister system, a nice soak with a hose if you want it, and early summer hours to beat the heat. We spent an entire day there with three people brand new to paintball and one person who had never done it in an arena setting before. So, I can't compare it to other paintball places. I can say this though; we had an amazing time! The people who worked there were incredibly nice and helpful, the refs were fair, and they are huge on safety. All guns were periodically checked to make sure they were set to their standards, there was a safety intro video and safe play was enforced, and the price for a rental and paint for the day was fair. In the afternoon we saw quite a few kids. They require kids to be 10 and up with a parent's permission. They also have web cams on the field so your friends back home can watch you getting your booty kicked and laugh at you. Or, you can watch people on the field while you take a break. They DO require you to buy their paint, so you can't bring outside paint in. However, you can bring your own food, so that helps if you are trying to keep your costs down.. They have food available there for a reasonable price as well. They have different special events, and we were out today for a Walking Dead scenario event (4 events and free play at the end) and I will definitely consider going back, even though we live in Queen Creek! The staff made my first paintball experience an awesome one. I can't wait to do it again. read more

Went up here on sunday to play some paintball and was pleasantly surprised to find them doing a scenario that day. The game was Santa Claus Vs the Martians and I became a martian lol. Got to fend off humans all day and play objectives with presents and even got close to shooting Santa!! had a great time, I'll be back for the next scenario for sure! read more

What great fun! We went there to celebrate my 60+ birthday and when my group arrived, they were out of equipment because it was an open play day. But Lee, the Manager, saved the day with his "how can we make this happen" attitude. The orientation is well done and gave us the rules for safe play which calmed nerves for all of us first-timers. This was our first experience with paint ball...we have always talked about trying it so today we finally did! Overall we had a great time!!! It really was a lot if fun! The only things I can truly complain about was the fact that they charge so much per person which is fine...but for almost $50 per person (approximately $146 for 3 of us to play including equipment) I would have liked to see the stuff we were given to use taken care of including cleanliness, and the shape of the equipment, broken clasps on chest protectors and face masks, etc and the staff to talk to adults and especially the kids with respect! The two girls working today (both blondes...didn't catch any names) were very rude and acted like we were all beneath them...demanding us to shut up and listen...for some reason they made you feel stupid for asking a question and rushed through instructions...it seemed like it was run by a bunch of young early 20 something "I hate my job" kind of staff. The girls were really on a power trip the way that they spoke to all of us and reprimanded you if you made a Mistake..Honestly you can get your point across without being rude. I would like to go back and play again but would also like to see changes made in the attitudes of the staff...mostly the girls...they seemed to be the ones running the show. I will most likely give the place another shot...but I can guarantee if the staff treats it's customers the same way they treated us today...I will not be back or recommend any business to them!! read more

I am a 14 year old kid who loves paintball. Splatter ranch paintball is the best place to go if you what to play paintball. It has the best time to go from 9AM to 5PM.
