The receptionists were not the most welcoming. I noticed there were 3 women, but no one was really working. For being no one there but me they were very slow service. Absolutely the worst bed side manner I have ever seen from a Dr. Dr Moghimi took over hour and half to see me. Also was so incredibly rude and dismissive during our entire 3 min conversation. He did no exam, cuts you off mid sentence when you are trying to talk. Showed ZERO empathy or respect to patients. I have no idea how this Dr is still in practice. Such an AWFUL experience. My experience with Dr. Moghimi is the worst I've ever had with a doctor. First visit: he didn't spend a ton of time with me and didn't want to listen to my concerns about my symptoms. Asked what I did for a living. Told him I'm a public school teacher. He then insulted my district and the teacher's union. Pretty weird bedside manner but oh well. Second visit for follow up: spent about 40 seconds with me after I waited 35 minutes from my appointment time. After he asked if my symptoms had improved and I said yes he immediately started writing notes and ignoring me. I decided I'd just see another GI doctor if I needed to because he so obviously didn't care about me as a patient or a person. As I'm leaving, he says, oh you're the teacher, I remember you. And then makes ANOTHER insulting comment about my profession and my district. Seriously what the heck?!? He went out of his way to bring this up. Stay away. ETA: Showed up at the wrong office location for my first appointment because the staff never bothered to tell me which location to go to. I assumed it was the one they called from but apparently that's just where they answer the phone. No apologies from anyone. read more

My PCP referred me to Dr. Moghimi for a colonoscopy. An office visit was required and I chose the Simi Valley office since they had the earliest availability. His staff was professional, efficient and friendly. I arrived at 2:30pm for my 3pm appointment and was in the exam room shortly before 3pm. I waited less than 5 minutes for Dr. Moghimi to see me. His office will call to schedule the colonoscopy. I really liked Dr. Moghini. He was friendly and to the point, asking several questions about my health history. My only question was if he could perform the procedure closer to home and he said yes. Hopefully, everything else will go smoothly. read more

This place is a joke, and it all stems from the doctor and his managers. The doctor takes less than 5 min per patient and anyone that really took the time to get to know a persons GI issues, can understand it takes more than 5 min to provide quality care to your patients. In addition to the lack of empathy you will receive from Dr. Robert Moghimi, you can be confident that his staff shows the same level of care when it comes to customer service. This place is a money pit for anyone with serious GI issues. This morning I was hung up on twice while trying to make an appointment. So I called back in the afternoon going to get better service. I was on hold for 40 minutes, again, just trying to make an appointment. I was finally successful making the appointment but I was told by Doctor Patel that after my upper endoscopy last Friday I needed a follow up within two weeks but the soonest appointment I could get was for 3 1/2 weeks. I was told that is the best I could get regardless of the doctor's instructions. They told me that "If an emergency came up up the doctor would phone me." Anyone, please tell me, what possible sense does that comment make? Doctor Patel's office staff are horrible as this was not my only poor service with them. read more

My PCP referred me to Dr. Moghimi who is one of two doctors practicing at this location. I called today to make an appointment and they were able to actually see me today! I was quite surprised and very pleased!! When I arrived, there were about six people standing outside the door. During COVID when the waiting room has reached its limit, everyone stands outside until it's their turn to go inside. The line went pretty quickly & smoothly except for one person complaining non-stop!! I proceeded to talk to her calmly, trying to reduce her stress level, but she wouldn't have it! (Oh well, I tried.) Once inside, the wait in the waiting room was short and then voila I was in one of the examining rooms to wait for the doctor, who came in shortly!!! Sandra, the office manager, and Nancy, the receptionist, were exceptionally friendly & highly productive given the situation. I applauded them in person and am applauding them now! The doctor was pleasant as he did a bit of a physical exam and went through the paperwork I had supplied for their office. I have to say I was highly skeptical to go to this office based on all of the horrible reviews and the two star rating, but I trusted that my wonderful PCP referred me to him because he thought he would be the right person for my situation, and he was right!! read more

My 1st colonsophy was with Dr. Patel 3 years ago and went very well with the surgery done at Provident Hospital. 3 years later, Dr. Patels schedule was full for 2 months out so I went with his associate Dr. Moghimi and staff. The communication and scheduling is as what everybody else is stating i.e. no one picks up the phone and many phone tags to assicates to schedule. I would best describe it as disjuntive management. The statff would not tell me the specific surgery hour to show up until the day before the opertion. Very hard to have my family plan there busy day till the last day to make plans to drive and pick me up! None the less the facilty for the surgery was not the same as Provident and is located in commercial strip center in Simi Valley, did not appear to be a medical professional building? If you are going to have anathesiology and be put under, this facility does not appear to be a place if a problem came up I would want to be in. So I when I cancelled, Laura noted she would be sending me a cancellation fee! That confirmed to I made the right decision. read more

When you are unfortunate enough to end up with GI related issue and need a doctor, you hope to get a doctor that spends the time, energy, and truly cares about your well being. Robert Moghimi and his staff are one of the worst Gastroenterology in the Valley. As a doctor, he spends less than 10 minutes with you, no physical, no evaluation. He recommends only the medication he gets paid, and wont help you. His staff, complete morons! From scheduling appointment, minimum of 45 minute wait time and office jam packed. If you value your time, choose a doctor that gives a shit, he clearly does not. If you do insist on a specific medication, their office manager Sandra would not submit the claim to your insurance. Lies, Lies and more lies. Complete waste of my time. I desperately needed the medication, and I was a patient and this is how they treated me, dont expect much from them. What a nightmare dealing with this doctor and his offices. They left me hanging for two days before my procedure, only getting back to me the day before. , When they finally did, they didn't provide me with sufficient info and I wound up suffering through the prep for nothing only to have him delay my procedure to the point where I couldn't carry through. When I finally got face-to-face with the doctor, he was curt, rude, and off putting to the point wherein I did not feel safe or comfortable moving forward with the treatment and decided to cancel. This Doctor needs to work on his bedside manner and his office needs to work on their effectiveness when communicating with patients. This was a terrible experience, WOULD NOT RECOMEND. read more

I was given a referral to North Valley GI by my HMO plan...not a good move on my HMO In the time i was seeing Dr Robert Moghimi. My first visit i had with him, i waited about 45 minutes to even be put into a room, literally spoke to the man for 5 minutes and was told i just had heart burn and here are some pills. Then was told to come back in 3 weeks to see how that worked. I was back in his office a week later with even more stomach and gut problems...again waited maybe an 1hr to speak to him for 5 minutes and have him tell me here are more of the same pills be gave me for "heart burn" and that i would need to be approved for an endoscopy. Well had to wait a month for my endoscopy "not because of my insurance, but do to their scheduling i waited a month." Had that done, waited 2 more weeks to still have no answers as to why i was in so much pain and very sick. When i went in for my follow up visit after my endoscopy i waited about 45 minutes again to see him for maybe 7 minutes for him to try and order another test that had nothing to do with the problems i was having. (In the mean time i was getting a new referral to see a new GI that in the end figured out my problem my first visit in and was fixed by 2 weeks of antibiotics). He does not listen to a word you say, literally orders tests that have nothing to do with your problems and kept me in severe pain for almost 2 months, never once even tried antibiotics to correct my issue. He also has horrible bed side manner....i will NEVER GO BACK TO HIM AGAIN. If i could give no stars i would. read more

Great doctor, terrible scheduling. You would think that when they schedule you for an appointment they would check and make sure the referral is still good. Ha ha. Takes months to get in and then cancel that morning because they didn't do their job. Scheduled endoscopy 4 months out then canceled doctor not available now schedule is 9 months out if it happens. Has CT done. Report says moderate/severe issue. Not sure if doctor reviews the report but a month later when I get copied I have to call for a follow appointment to see if something needs to be done. read more

Dr. Robert Moghimi has been my Gastroenterologist since I came to L.A. 6 years ago. He came highly recommended and I am very pleased with the care I've received. He has a welcoming manner that inspires confidence and he has taken me through two colonoscopies with no problems . . . and that is not easy. The only problem I've encountered has been waiting time as he has a large case-load and the waiting room tends to be full. His office staff is efficient, warm, friendly, and always helpful, especially Lorena. I've known Gastroenterologists and Dr. Moghimi has my full recommendation. read more

I am extremely unimpressed with this office. The seating area is crowded, and Dr. Moghimi has been late to both of my appointments here. In two appointments I got a combined time of less than ten minutes with Dr. Moghimi who didn't do much, or listen to my concerns, he had script planned of what to do and my individual input was not required. The final straw was when he stressed to me the importance of getting a sugar-free fiber supplement because he didn't want me to gain weight. I am a 6'2" 150lb skinny guy (almost underweight), and he's telling me that he's concerned about me gaining weight. Find a different GI doctor... Edit: Just got the bill, for my first visit where the doctor spent 4 minutes with me, they billed my insurance $250. After finding a different provider I can assure you, stay as far away from North Valley GI as possible. There are way better doctors who will actually listen to you out there. This entire facility and staff of Dr.moghimi are unprofessional including supervisor Sandra. My poor mother is critically ill and needs a weekly procedure done but because this staff is irresponsible my mother has to wait in pain for these people to fax over documents. Somehow even knowing these documents need to be sent over every month somehow these clueless individuals cannot even do the bare minimum and fax over documents. Then I had staff members and Sandra say "your mom needs an appointment for a new referral" when Dr.Moghimi himself told my mother and i we do not need to see him that he can write the referral and fax it over. I am completely confused on who to believe.Also majority of the time there are no available appointments . Where are the individuals that care about ill patients? What has the medical field gone to? I do hope these staff members get proper training but even I know that is a lie because you cannot teach compassion. You either have it or you don't and they certainly do not have it. I absolutely loved the front office staff and medical assistant at the Granada Hills location. Dr. Moghimi had a very unpleasant personality. I tried to express a concern and he literally cut me off with a condescending comment regarding a medication my primary care physician (that I adore) prescribed me. He was clearly uninterested in my health concerns. In fact, he was borderline rude. I figured I could tolerate him enough to get through a colonoscopy but when I called back to request, if possible, they schedule the procedure for a Wednesday, I was told they are scheduling out into January/February. That's my out!!! I'll change my insurance during open enrollment and make sure I can get it done by a different doctor and at Henry Mayo instead of Holy Cross! I feel like I am dodging a bullet! If bedside manner matters to you then you might want to avoid Dr. Moghimi. read more

The staff (nurses) are wonderful, but Dr Patel has the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. He doesn't give you the time of day. Dismisses your questions and will not spend the time to review. It's as if this place has a production line going on and the 'Next' person is more important than the patient he's just done a procedure on. STOP and take a breath! My appointment with Dr. Moghimi in his Valencia, CA office was awful. It was a simply horrible experience. His bedside manner was rude, dismissive, and diminishing. Rather than listening to me relay my symptoms, he would abruptly interrupt and altogether dismiss what I was saying. As opposed to listening to and engaging with me regarding my months-long symptoms, he seemingly had a diagnosis before I walked into the examine room. His arrogance was stifling. Dr. Moghimi is one of the best doctors i have ever had for GI problems, he is very professional ,knowledgeable and kind. Yes we as a patient might think he is running late for our apt but come on he is taking care of patients and as a health care professional i understand some patients have more complications or they are new patients and doc just need more time in order diagnose correctly and offer the best treatment for them, i really respect offices that do not go by clock only and by patients needs! The doctor is ok but the office clerk at the Simi Valley office is terrible. She kept whining that she was the only one in the office and told me to call the Granada Hills office. I already called Granada Hills office earlier and was told to call the Simi Valley office since I saw the doctor in Simi Valley. I was very frustrated for being pingpong back and forth but she kept whining and not paying attention to what I said. Finally, she said would leave a message for the nurse to call me after I asked what was she going to do to resolve my issue. I tried to explain to her how frustrated I was but she demanded that I needed to listen to her and hung up the phone on my ears...Horrible customer service. The biologics chemo grade medicine I need in order to live a functional life was never ordered, I was never updated on the status of my medicine and after calling every other day I still do not have an appointment for my infusion. What makes it okay to not care for your patient. By law a doctor must provide care and not negligence. The front office is made up of a bunch of heartless individuals who should not hold a job. This was the worst doctor I have ever been to. I suffer from severe chronic health issues and cancer and had hope that Dr. Moghimi would treat me well. I was 100% wrong. I waited 3 months for this appointment and called weekly to see if they had any cancellations as the girl at the desk advised me to. After 3 months of waiting, I came for my appointment and I was no longer on the schedule. Turns out they just recently decided to cancel their contract with my health plan and cancelled all the appointments with the patients who had that health plan. But when they canceled the appointments, they didn't have the decency to let the patients know that it was cancelled. I was told I could still see him and that the office manager would try to get me a new authorization. When the doctor walked in, he maybe let me talk for two minutes before he cut me off. He basically refused to see me. He was aware of how severe my symptoms were, how sick I was, and that I waited months to see him. The contract didn't expire for 2 more months so he easily could have started some treatments for me so I could have some relief. He gaslighted me to make it seem like it was my fault that he couldn't see me, just so he wouldn't have to deal with my complicated medical history. Clearly he is a doctor that is just in it for the money based on how he treats his patients. If you want a doctor that cares about his patients, don't come to him. If you want a doctor that is rude, arrogant, gaslights, doesn't care about his patients, and is an a$$h0le, then he is the doctor for you!!!!! If I could rate him zero stars, I would!!! I have been with Dr. Robert Moghimi for about 2 months now and I really like his professionalism, compassion and sense of humor, however, his office staff is another story. When I first visited his office, the lady at the desk who takes your Driver license and Insurance card took mine and eventually misplaced them, she asked me three times if I handed it to her which of course I did the first time she asked for it. I waited 2 hours to see the doctor while they were looking for my stuff, I was getting upset because things like Driver's license and insurance cards should be handled properly, these are confidential stuff that you don't want other people taking. After I saw the doctor, the office staff told me that she will just call me if they do find my insurance card and driver license! I was of course getting mad because I cannot drive and can't get my prescriptions without them! I had to go to dmv the next day to apply and pay for a replacement for my Driver's license and had to call the insurance for a replacement card, what an inconvenience!!! As for the office staff, they were not apologetic at all, they seem to think I never handed my cards over. After 2 weeks, they finally found my DL and Ins. Card but they never apologized!!! I went to see Dr. Moghimi again for a follow up this week and I told the office staff that they still have my DL and ins. Card , they gave it to me but never apologized, this time I had to schedule a CT Scan and the doctor told them to schedule it for me, well, the next day, Sylvia, who takes care of these appointments called me to give me the number and schedule it myself which I didn't mind doing, however, the facility she referred did not accept my insurance so I had to call Sylvia today 9/2/16, to ask her for Providence Holy Cross scheduling number so I can call there instead, she gave me the number but when I called there, they did not have the order from the doctor so I had to call Sylvia back and ask to send order, which she rudely rejected!!! She said she had other things to do and she can't send the order! I was taken aback by her rudeness!!! What an attitude! Poor customer service and poor etiquette!!! When I complained about her rudeness she changed her tone right away and tried to sound professional... Dr. Moghimi's office staff should get tons of training in customer service! They are rude and very hard to deal with!!! Why work there if you don't like what your doing????!!!! read more

First time my primary doctor referred me to Dr.Moghimi I schedueled the first appointment which was schedueled a month after I requested. I then called again to find out the procedure and to find out the date of my appointment which they repeated was schedueled for December 16, 2016, and when I went they said "im sorry but you aren't schedueled" and I just wasted my time going there. I then had to go again and had to wait another month and finally met Dr.Moghimi and asked me why I was in his office and when I told him my problems he just said "oh im sorry I just need to send this text because it's so important" so I just stopped and didnt say anything else. When he stopped texting he schedueled my colonoscopy and surgery day, right before he preformed it, he was texting next to my bed. So I was wondering how much concern he shows towards me as a patient and when I wanted to get my results they schedueled me again and same story as the first time, they came out that I wasnt schedueled for that day. So finally after 2 months I havent gotten any results and December 15, 2016, when I attended my scheduele to pick up my results from the colonoscopy, I was waiting in the exam room and he forgot that I was in there and never checked me so after an hour waiting I asked the nurse "what happened to Dr.Moghimi" and she told me "Im sorry he is gone for the day. He went home". So he is so irresponsible, careless, and abandoned his patient in the exam room without any care and I never received an apology neither form his staff or him.
