My dad underwent a very stressful colonoscopy after his primary care physician found a positive result on his bloodwork. Helen went above and beyond to get him in as soon as possible despite their busy schedule. As soon as Dr. Sach reviewed the results and determined it was a false positive, he immediately let us know. By coincidence, I happened to be on the phone and heard the entire conversation with my parents. As a healthcare provider myself, I was truly impressed by Dr. Sach's professionalism, compassion, and bedside manner. I just had my first office appointment today as a Crohn's patient and found the office very hospitable and calming. All the front office people are very kind and helpful, Dr Sach is very patient and professional and has a very kicked back & calm personality. I was feeling very hyper and wanted to explain a lot of problematic situations, I was experiencing. He eventually calmly got me to listen to some of his concerns and answere his questions about past symptoms. Then he explained what he thought I should consider. I have had 3 colonoscopies with Dr. Sach going back perhaps 10 years and fortunately, everything went well. While the preparation for those procedures is not something fun to look forward to, his office provides a goody bag with ingredients. It's well worth the cost so that you don't have to run to a pharmacy. TMI Alert: I also had an in office hemmie procedure that was a major improvement and well worth the minor discomfort for maybe a few days. It was something I put off for way too long so I encourage anyone with those issues to trust Dr. Sach's advice on the topic. Since he and I have the same first name, he always jokes about it. Dr. Sach was recommended to my husband and me by a hospital doctor at Providence Cedars Sinai several weeks ago. It was not an easy decision to change gastroenterologists after many decades with another excellent doctor, but we wanted someone closer to where we lived. I finally needed to schedule a colonoscopy after getting by with a home test kit for years. I was referred to Dr. Sach. I'm the biggest baby ever when it comes to medical care. The last time I was inpatient was when my tonsils were removed when I was 4 years old. Until 2 years ago, I wasn't even taking any Rx medication. Needless to say, my anxiety level was sky high. The atmosphere in the office was super chill. The guy who took my insurance information was pleasant. It took less than 10 minutes from the time I arrived until Dr. Sach walked in to the exam room. He explained all about the procedure and the prep. He didn't try to downplay the nature of the prep but explained how important it was for me to get it right. Our visit didn't end until he was sure that any questions I had were answered. The person who set up the date for the procedure was also very nice. She explained where I would have the procedure done (right down the hall from the office), what time to arrive, and what time I could expect to leave. She then directed me to someone who would deal with my prep medications. Again, I was greeted warmly and with a smile. I could purchase the meds from the office or do my own shopping at the pharmacy. It seemed easiest to just do it at the office. I was handed a gold gift bag with the meds and prep instructions. Everyone I met reiterated that I should call if I had any questions or concerns. I'll update this review once my procedure is complete. I can't say that I'm looking forward to it, but Dr. Sach and his office staff did a great job at alleviating most of my fears. read more

Zero stars if I could. This guy is the worst, most arrogant doctor I have ever encountered. Sach rushed my appt, actively chose not to listen to my actual concerns - I mentioned that I had recently gained weight and the entire appt became about how I then need to lose weight. I am not overweight. My whole chart is covered in comments about how he counseled me on a low carb diet and to avoid cigarette smoke? I literally did not once mention cigarettes. I don't even smoke - live a very clean lifestyle. We scheduled a colonoscopy and endoscopy and when I arrived at the center I was completely and totally disgusted at the environment. (Valley Endoscopy Center in tarzana). I almost left but already did the prep. Completely regret doing the procedures there. In the end he didn't solve any of my issues. But guess what - I solved it. And it wasn't even a crazy diagnosis. Arrogance is an understatement. Incapable. He sucks. read more

Had my colonoscopy TODAY and I'm jumping on to write a review the same evening if that speaks volumes. Dr. Sach and team run a well oiled machine. I especially love that it's right down the hall from his main space. It's a hidden gem with so many surgical rooms, all clean and lots of staff. 1) no waiting to see the doctor, gets you in right away and the pre operative bag with prep kit and insurance costs were provided at initial appointment. 2) the prep kit worked to perfection and everything seemed to be perfectly timed by following their EXACT instructions. 3) the team and the Dr were on time for my day of arrival and for starting the procedure (9:45am and they had already tons of patients completed as they open at 6:00 am). All of the staff were comforting from the very beginning. They are doing these all day long and have their procedures run to a science. The worst part was the IV which hurt so bad by the nurse who did it. Once that was in, everything was smooth again and no pain with anything from that point forward. 3) Everyone was very comforting every step of the way. Dr. Sach made me feel in safe hands. 4) I woke up and had no idea anything happened and was able to use the restroom right away. The procedure went very smooth and I walked to the car and was home with soup and TV. They say that the stomach will be bloated with a lot of gas, but I did not have any at all. No cramps or any residual effect. Felt like a normal day, as if nothing was done. I know we're not supposed to drive, but I was feeling so well by 3 PM that I actually went to the mall for a quick errand lol. I had the honor and privilege of being seen and examined by Dr. Sach for multiple gastrointestinal problems. First, his office was super clean and well organized. Second, his staff were very friendly, competent, responsive and helpful. Thirdly, Dr. Sach was awesome. He patiently listened to my medical complaints and did a thorough examination. He then explained to me the different laboratory tests and imaging exam he is ordering for me, and gave me a prescription for a medication to take. He explained to me his preliminary diagnoses and what the medication was for, and most importantly he told me to watch for and to notify him of any of its adverse reactions. He also gave me an appointment to follow up with him in two weeks. Throughout the entire office visit, Dr. Sach was very friendly, patient and attentive. He is definitely very competent and knowledgeable. He took his time with me and treated me with dignity and respect. I had a colonoscopy scheduled and everything went smoothly and successfully. I arrived to my appointment on time and waited no more than three minutes to be taken to the back, I changed, they immediately set me on my bed and the anesthesiologist the nurse and the doctors all came in and explained their role and they set me up with the IV, etc. and I was out within minutes and woke up 15 minutes later feeling a bit under the anesthesia, but it didn't last long so that was a good thing.
