I signed up for their CPR through Red Cross website and it was a blended course. The in class portion was canceled due to covid which was understandable and i was told to do it online which I did already and I was completely confused and when i tried to get a hold of someone, the number on their website had been discounted. I tried calling Red Cross and they couldn't do anything since I did it through a "third party" even though i went through their website. When I finally found a number on their website it said to text and someone would get back to me which they did and they said they would send me my certification that day and nothing. I tried emailing and I tried texting the number again and no response. If I don't hear anything back soon I'm doing to Dispute the charge. Took the online portion of this class and signed up to do the in person class a week later. Unfortunately with the circumstances of today our class was canceled and we were told that they would email our certification. There was a few hiccups with the timing but all was taken care of once the problem was identified. Bradley is very genuine and is doing the best he can given these crazy times so a little patience and understanding will make for an easier go of this. Do NOT take a class here. I took a CPR class with a friend about a month ago and have not received my certificate. We both need this class in order to get our teaching credential! This puts our credential at risk from being denied. I have been calling and emailing them and have not received any response. This is completely absurd as they said it should take up to three days to receive the certificate. I'm completely disappointed and will report this to the Red Cross foundation so they are removed from their website. They should not be promoting more CPR classes if they are not able to give out certificates in a timely matter. read more

I definitely would NOT recommend using North Valley Swim for CPR/First Aid Certification. The class location was difficult to locate within a dark, dirty building. The "office" was in part of the building locked off from the lobby. After calling North Valley Swim LLC to find out if I was indeed in the right location and confirm the class was still taking place, the man told me that he would tell the instructor to come out and let us in the locked door. She didn't come find us. I called North Valley Swim LLC again and he sent me a text message with the door code to enter the building on my own. The instructor proceeded to give us CPR instruction from a standing position because "the floors are really dirty and I don't want to kneel down". After the class was complete, she informed us that her boss would send us our certificates within the next 3 days. I have yet to receive mine and it has been over 2 weeks. Customers are paying you money for these classes and certifications required for their jobs and you are not following through! read more

Go elsewhere if you need your CPR cert. quickly. The course itself was a pleasure! The instructor was personable, concise and approached teaching in a practical manner. I can truly say it was the only CPR class I have ever enjoyed attending. It did take 1 month to receive my certificate though and I had to establish contact several times in order to receive it. The company is experiencing some growing pains as they move locations and needs to polish their communication channels but I look forward to seeing that improve when my recert. comes. read more

I signed up for a course in March, around the time Covid-19 came around. I was told to do the class online. I was unable to do the class online so I contacted the facility by phone and by email. To this day I call and the facility picks up and hangs up. I received a text saying to text and I'll get a response shortly. To this day I have gotten no response by email or by phone. I did not receive any type of certification and I'm out $90.97. I contacted Red Cross and they told me they couldn't do anything because it is a "third party." I am extremely frustrated due to this situation and can not retain the job I want/due to the lack of communication this facility has facilitated. UPDATE I was quickly notified by the owner of the facility and was able to get my certification within the day of completing the online course. Online course was easy to understand and the missions were a great way to know how to react in emergency situations. I have learned and am proud to say that I am now CPR Certified! Took my CPR/AED class this morning. The instructor Georgette was so friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell she was experienced in CPR training. It was convenient for me to do the blender class. Online you CAN NOT skip ahead. During the online portion, It makes you listen/participate in EVERY SINGLE STEP. In person we watched a few short clips and then checked our skills. The class was simple, easy to follow, and over all I am glad I chose to come here. read more

Amazing place for CPR!!! I had to get my CPR renewed pronto for my job as a nurse so I scrambled to find a place and this place was a random place I picked. Wow, so easy. Bradley and Karla own their own CPR business and are located at several locations, actually, the amazing Karla travels to various locations. Karla is so smart and fun and gets you right into ER style CPR and safety practice like we all are going to need in reality. Great team, great class, reasonable price, Wow! Not recommended. I paid 60$ two months ago for CPR training. Spent the time taking the online test and class, and still have yet to receive my certificate. Attempts at contacting the company have mostly failed. Their phones have been disconnected. After multiple attempts at emailing them, one gentleman answered back two weeks ago saying "I'll look into this right now". Apparently it takes a while to look into. I'm gonna give them another week to fulfill what I paid for before I just throw in the towel and dispute the charge with my bank. I still need my certificate to appease my managers at work... anyone able to recommend an actual CPR training/certifying company? Looks like I wasted my time with these folks. Again, I do not recommend their services. Edit: After posting this review, the owner called me a few minutes later and apologized for the wait. He promptly got the certificate out to me and explained that he has been having phone and manning issues lately. EDIT: I did and do not have "buyer's remorse." I had never hired a lifeguard before so didn't know what to do in this situation. And I don't think you can call a lifeguard LEAVING THE POOL TO GO INSIDE THE HOUSE WHILE CHILDREN WERE IN THE POOL "buyer's remorse." If I had called North Valley to get another guard, he/she wouldn't have shown up until the party was over. We adhered to Girl Scout regulations and kept the guard we had on premises - even though he was not doing his job - so the party could continue. And of course I paid him - I know now to refuse payment if services aren't rendered. Readers, consider the shifting of blame here and decide for yourselves. Bradley, if you honestly want to rectify this situation, you have my phone number and are able to contact me at any time. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I hired North Valley Swim for a lifeguard for my Girl Scout troop's end-of-the-year party. These girls worked hard selling cookies to pay the $150 fee - that's 150 boxes at $1 a box that they earned. When the guard showed up, I told him he should have an easy time of it as my girls are all older. He replied that that was fine, as he had a "crazy late night" and had his phone with him for entertainment. I should have refused him right there, but as this was my first time hiring a lifeguard (and GS rules require a lifeguard), I didn't. The party started and I was busy getting food, guests, activities etc set up; I sat down and looked to find the guard sitting across the yard on the patio instead of next to the pool. I was confused. Then, he stood up, turned away from the pool, and went into the house (where the restrooms were.) He didn't say a word to me; he didn't say a word to the girls (who were all *in the pool*). He came back out, then proceeded (as promised) to get out his phone and start scrolling. I had to tell him to put the phone away and pay attention to the pool. He quickly did so; ten minutes later he was leaning over to watch the game play of the kid sitting next to him. I wanted to tell him to leave immediately, but Girl Scout rules insists on a lifeguard. The attending adults ended up supervising the pool; the guard was worthless. When I contacted North Valley Swim and asked for a refund, owner Bradley expressed the appropriate dismay, and then never returned my email. I haven't heard from him since. I'm still furious over this; my girls' safety was compromised, and they spent a large amount of money they worked hard to earn for a service they did not receive. I am spreading the word to other troops in our group to stay away from North Valley. I don't want this to happen to them as well. read more

My job requires an updated CPR/AED certification so I initially signed up through the Red Cross website. The website directed me to North Valley Swim. I was able to do a hybrid class. I did half of the class online and then went in to North Valley Swim for the other portion. It was easy to sign up and it was nice that they gave me a 5 dollar discount online. Discounts are always a plus. I found the place easily, and there is plenty of parking on the street(right out in front). I was greeted by Dustin, who was super friendly and funny. Dustin was very knowledgeable and helped with any questions I had. The whole class was a breeze. Shout out to Dustin! Overall, it was a very easy process and I was able to get my certification the SAME DAY. The customer service was really great. They really did go above and beyond to make sure I got everything I needed and was taken care of. I would recommended this place to everyone and will be coming back for any future certifications. read more

Not the right First Aid/ CPR class I have been through Red Cross First Aid/ CPR training 3 times now so I know what to expect from a class. I choose North Valley Swim on the Red Cross website because it was the cheapest option, and I guess I got what I paid for. The instructor seemed both nervous and heavily caffeinated which made him come off unprofessional, and unprepared. We spent much of the 45 minute class, which is supposed to be around 2 hours, listening to him talk about himself. The instructor directly contradicted the Red Cross instructions multiple times, and did not provide opportunity for hands on practice of any part of the first aid or cpr training. We did not practice giving breaths, compressions, gaining consent, or wrapping a wound. Basically we wound up getting all our training from the online portion. read more

My husband signed up for a CPR certification course back in July. He completed the online portion, and was waiting for the in person skills portion. Due to Covid, it was not able to be scheduled. Months later, he has reached out multiple times through email and trying to call and using the website, but no one has responded. We will be refuting the charge with our credit card company. I have been hiring North Valley Swim lifeguards for our annual summer pool parties for 7 years and will say their lifeguards are terrific! They are always prompt, know water safety and work very hard at keeping the kids safe in our pool. I would not have a big pool party with lots of kids (even if all are swimmers and parents are around) without hiring a lifeguard from North Valley Swim. This way I know the kids are safe and the parents can relax and have a good time. It is worth every penny to keep kids safe in and around the pool and their services are truly great. I called multiple phone numbers that are provided through the website, as well as texted them, but I still have not receive my certification. After finally reaching out to someone that told me I was going to receive the certification that same day, I did not recieve anything . I decided to give them one more week to sent the certification, but I still didn't get anything. And now that I have tried calling them again, they did not respond at all. I'm beyond frustrated now! I have tried to be more than patient with this people, but this is just too much.They shouldn't be providing classes, if they don't plan on sending the certificates. Update: I finally did get my certificate after placing a complaint here and threatening court time since having a certification is a condition of employment for me. I still stand by my 1 star rating as the owner gave a sob story about having technical difficulties and not being able to make outbound calls to customers. Even if the fault lies with the red cross website update, it is no excuse to ignore customer calls, emails, and texts. Simple communication with the customers would have resolved the matter. Instead, the owner chose to cut all communication ties and lie about not being able to contact customers. Funny how i get a call back tonight and you ask to speak on the phone when I was told you could not make outbound calls. I understand that sometimes things happen, what is not excusable is deciding its easier for you to not deal with customers by not communicating. You knew there was an issue weeks ago, you could and should have sent emails to customers letting them know you where on top of the problem. I will now ensure i take all future classes with the Red Cross directly and not this company. Do NOT take a CPR course with this company. They took my money, I completed the course, and now will not give me my certificate after a month of waiting. They canceled the class with red cross even after me showing up to complete the course. They will not return my phone calls or emails and I can not get a refund. SCAM and horrible service. The least the could do is to explain why they canceled my class and allow me to take a new class or refund my money, BEWARE. read more

I used this company for many years and was always happy with the service. However, the lifeguards for my last 2 parties were late. With little kids waiting eagerly outside the pool until the lifeguard showed up in my memory, I actually took the step of hiring the lifeguard 30 minutes before the party started to make sure someone would be here before the party started. I also told the company when I booked that the last 2 were late and I was very disappointed, but was willing to use them again. The lifeguard for my party this week was over 40 minutes late and got to my house after half the guests had arrived. The woman who took my call about the lifeguard being late was rude and no one has offered any sort of refund for the 40 minutes that he was late! This was their last chance. The five star rating is for Dustin the First Aid/CPR Trainer who was down to earth and pretty knowledgeable. I did and still do, have an issue with receiving my correct certificate. While scheduling the class I order the same day certification option for $4.99 which I did not receive. I am pretty chill most of the time but due to the pressure from my college stating that I could loss my credential if I don't have this by Monday and it was Friday, I decided to call and check up on the certificate. The owner told me their must of been a glitch in the system. After reading the comments below about the two people who didn't get their certs on time I initially thought maybe it was the owner not doing his due diligence so after stressing most of today (Saturday). I decided to call Red Cross and see what is going on because it was getting late and I needed this certificate before school Monday the 13th. Luckily I did because Red Cross told me that it was a glitch on their end with their system and that the owner had submitted his class list to them on time. They sent me a copy of my certification but the problem I still have is that it doesn't have a completion date and my info does not show up in the Red Cross database, so if someone tries to verify my certificate it won't pop up. I think if this is a common thing, Red Cross needs to create a better system because I was totally ready to blame the owner and write a bad review. Although I would of liked a little more communication from the owner, I think that the owner tried his best to take care of the situation. I've managed other and have owned my own business and understand that you really can't just focus on one customer all day, especially when Red Cross puts you on hold for over an hour! Hopefully my school takes the certificate without the completion date. read more

They offer a half online / half in person option for receiving your CPR certification which is amazing because it means you only have to go in for about 90 min after completing a 2.5 hour course online. They are a small business so leave ample time for your certificate to come through. They will eventually get it to you. A lot of people giving bad reviews but the staff of the CPR class put forth the effort to give you the best experience as possible. I was hesitant at first because of people complaining about getting their certifications late (technical difficulty) but I applied for same day certification and received it within the next hour. I had Doug as my instructor who had a great sense of humor and was enthusiastic. The only critique I have to offer was that the facility was hard to find (San Diego location not on apple maps, and the building didn't have a sign). DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY. I have previously used them for small parties for lifeguarding services and had no problems. I hosted a large party this past weekend and booked and paid in advance for two lifeguards to be present. The party started and no one had shown up. I called the phone number and was transferred to Bradley's phone. He told me he would look into the problem. I had 20 children and adults waiting to go swimming at this point. ~20 minutes later he called me and told me "they had lost track of my party". (they had already charged me $400 mind you) He then assured me he got ahold of someone and they would be coming in 45-60mins. I updated all our guests and then I myself acted as a lifeguard during that time. The entire party passed and NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP and I was not called with any update on what happened. Bradley sent me an email later that night saying he was sorry they had again not shown up. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I had spent a lot of money on this party and assured all my guests that lifeguards would be present to give parents peace of mind. I will no longer be using this company's services nor would I recommend them to anyone. If you are hiring a company to be professional and dependable they should be able to SHOW UP TO A PROMISED AND PAID JOB. read more
