This LA city park is tucked into a neighborhood in North Hollywood-Studio City-Toluca Lake area. There's a restroom with toilet paper and soap if that's important to you. Not squeaky clean, but a public restroom in LA. It's not Santa Clarita so don't expect much as far as newness and cleanliness. I would definitely come back if ever I am in the area and wanted to take a walk. It's near the freeway so it's not going to be peaceful, but if you're looking to get some steps in or place to lay on the grass and maybe read a book, this is a nice place. There is a solar-themed playground which is under repair right now. You'll find a large parking lot and parking along the perimeter. Not sure how busy it gets during the weekend or warmer weather. I would definitely return and like that it's not exposed to a major street. read more

The space themed park is really cool It seems like the park has seen better days though. Lot's of graffiti covering the playground. I noticed a F**k Trump right next to the USA part of the rocket ship. I really wish that kind of language wasn't so visible on a playground meant for children. They really need to clean this park up. We love all things outer space so this is the playground to be if you or your little one are also a fan. This is a nice and clean neighborhood park that happens to have one of the coolest playgrounds. The park has their own parking lot and we've never had an issue finding a spot, even when there's little league games going on. There's four "all gender" restrooms, but only two of them were unlocked when we went today. There's two water fountains and a nifty water bottle dispenser that is operated via a button. That's a nice touch for a public park! The play equipment is pretty new and modern. Decorated with planets, moon rocks, space ships, aliens, and outer space factoids. There's ample grassy areas to have a picnic, too. There's a small sand play area on one side and a 4 person see-saw. Plus, there's one of those cool roller slides that my toddler loves. There's also a space ship that you can ride in that sways. They have a fun swing set: two that lock in your youngsters, and two big kid swings. I do wish the playground area was a bit more shaded since some of the equipment can get pretty hot if you come in the middle of the day. Bring a towel or small blanket for the large bowl swing or the spinner if you're coming on a hot day. The large trees don't provide much shade there. But, the outer benches and grassy areas seem to benefit from the tree shade the most. read more

We spent a Sunday afternoon at North Weddington Park last month to celebrate our friend David C.'s birthday. He and his family are regulars here, as they live in the neighborhood, and even though we live a bit further away, I think we'll come back often too. It's an excellent park and our baby had the time of his life running across the lawn and playing on the playground. According to the C. family, this park is just far enough away from major thoroughfares that it never gets crowded. I'm always grateful for easy parking and this lot could not have been easier. Our group--eight adults and four children--took over a couple of empty picnic tables and had a lovely lunch. The kids played for two hours without getting bored. Ours was obsessed with the space-themed playground equipment, particularly the rocking space shuttle with the multiple steering wheels. We kept an eye on him, but the park was so spacious and far from cars that we were able to relax while he scurried around. If it had been up to him, he would've stayed at the park not napping all day. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to go back to North Weddington Park, and I look forward to our next visit. read more

Nice park but there is some graffiti, I housed people (though they left everyone alone), and so many squirrels. DONT FEED THEM. Love the space themed playground, it's fairly new and has some amazing details that put it above most parks I've seen. Pretty clean park and I saw a handball, tennis, baseball, soccer fields/courts. There are a few walking/bikes trails that are shady and lush and there is a "hidden garden" at the end of one which was unfortunate locked but looked very intriguing. There is a parking lot attached and a community center. Would def come again if I'm in the area read more

On the corner of Acama Street and Riverton Ave lays a gem that I wanted to keep secret but I suppose I can share. This park is one of my favorites that's clean, quiet, dog friendly and empty. The park offers a nice pathway for leisure walking; plenty of lush greens all around for picnicking and just feels very open and spacious. They recently revamped the children's play area with brand new equipment - swings, slides and other knick knacks all spaceship themed. There's also a private indoor basketball gym, a baseball field with bleachers and plenty of park tables and benches all throughout. There's also a small designated parking lot that fits about 20 cars at most but not to fret, since it's located in a really nice and safe neighborhood, there's an abundant amount of side street parking with a free 2 hour limit. read more

What a cute little park in the Studio City/North Hollywood area. The park is kind of hidden in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It was pretty empty and very shady. It was a great place that kept us cool on a hot summer evening. I really loved the Rockets Universe themed playground.! It is equipped with learning interactive activities and bilingual signs all around. There are swings, slides, a rocket ship that moves, many climbing areas, abacus, music inspired activities like xylophones and drums, a hammock swing, and a sandbox. The park is also dog friendly and there is ample space for walking and/or running. You can also enjoy a picnic under the trees. The parking lot is kinda of small but you can also park on the street. I will most likely visit again as my 2 year old loved the playground.! read more

UPDATE: Just found on the other side of the park there is construction for a new, inclusive play area called "Rocket's Universe". A lot of work to do, hopefully it will be ready this summer. What an awesome park! Lots of open space for walking and or running. As for the kids play area , most of the area is surrounded by trees providing ample shade with the exception of the swing area that is in full sun. Area is surrounded by the theme of stars, moons, planets and rocket ships! Play area is semi fenced in, large rock abacus, space related educational bilingual signs throughout, moon rocks, planets, rocket ship sway with 2 more abacus, sandbox, swings, hammock like swing, small slide, 2 xylophones and drums. I'd say that the only thing missing is a larger slide. The slide there is more the size of a toddler slide. Overall park is clean and quiet....definitely a place worth coming back to!!! read more

Okay, maybe not a rage but a twinkle of "Why not me?" in our mind's eye. Don't misunderstand, South Weddington is calming, quiet, with lush greenery for picnics, and even baseball fields galore. However, it is missing a playground, grills, picnic tables, etc. The specific items which some correlate with a "park". Guess who DOES have these things? Yup, you guessed it. North Weddington. North Weddington is the slightly more mature sister causing South Weddington jealous bouts. North Weddington is a great place to eat a picnic lunch (which I did) while watching the kiddos frolic on the playground or have pee wee football practice. North Weddington is slightly louder, which can be expected due to more children running around. Plus, the sound of some odd generator running at a business nearby... What does the younger sister South Weddington have which in reverse, North Weddington would be jealous of? Ample parking. While South Weddington has enough parking to accommodate to your next park party; North Weddington only offers some spots on the street and a road which leads to the South Weddington's parking (thus meaning a longer walk with that cooler filled with potato salad). Overall, North Weddington is a quaint neighborhood park which shouldn't be looked at a separate entity but instead as a large combo force that is The Weddingtons. Whether you seek the peace and tranquility of South Weddington or the upbeat playground of North Weddington; it is a tour de force! read more

It's so wonderful to have an inclusive playground for kids of all abilities so close to home! Rocket's Universe (by Shane's Inspiration) opened about a little over a year ago, and it's become a somewhat of a destination for my family and friends who live out of the area! It even has a view of the Harry Potter Castle at Universal Studios, which makes the park even more magical! The only drawback is that the playground gets extremely crowded on weekends with the soccer teams, which can very overwhelming for the very children the park is designed for. read more

Stumbled upon this park since it next to our polling location! It's pretty hidden. When I was 8-9 months pregnant, this was my favorite park to take a walk: - Park is pretty large with two baseball fields, a handball court, a gym and lots of tables and benches throughout for parties. - This park is pretty clean! - We walk our dog here (yes, dogs have to be on leash) since it has a ton of grass! We like this renovated playground for our kids. It is all remodeled, it has a ramp to get to the playground and soft cover on the floor. Equipment is new, nice swings and many educational things about planets and space. Bathrooms are so close and most of the times plenty of parking. The only thing parking entrance should be marked more clear as I think it is one way entrance which I didn't understand for a while because you can barely see Do Not Enter sign. read more

One I had to relocate due to dirty underwear and ants. Ew. One star deducted. The playground is adequate and the jogging trail is about a half mile. read more

A somewhat secluded park - off of Lankershim. It has a sand play area, a gym, and 2 baseball fields that the Toluca Baseball league uses. Also I believe it has a handball and tennis court. North Weddington is a very safe and clean park - I have never heard of or had a bad experience here. read more

I been going to this park for years. Weddington is very clean and well maintained. There programs for kids are good. Some events are kinda pricy, but it comes with the type of area. Highly recommended for parents to take there kids. I believe, they still have an after school program in the gym for kids to go if there parents are still working, when school lets out. Danika is awful at her job as well as customer service. I called 2 hours in advance to ask when there was open gym and she had no clue. She followed up with its on a day to day basis and that there was open time today from 6 to 730 but when I showed up there was all star practice. She didn't apologize or even think twice that she had messed up not realizing I drove across the valley to work out. I really hope this review finds its way to her and anyone else who speaks to her because she inconsiderate and giving out wrong information. read more

I became interested in North Weddington Park after visiting South Weddington Park a few weeks ago. To be honest, I wasn't very impressed until I noticed a partially shaded slope hidden behind a building, where there were a few people lying on the grass. Further down there was a community garden and a sign warning about coyotes. I ate a cheeseburger on a bench. read more

I spend more time at South Weddington park but once and awhile hit this park. This past weekend my buddy and I took our ladies and his son to the park to toss some softballs. Thew North park was the better option per the huge playground as his son is only 4. That said, if you don't enjoy the company or presence of children, don't plan a quiet day in this park. Head to the South Weddington Park section, just the other side the LA River basin. This park is only ever quiet in the early AM, but I have never seen it empty. There is always somebody setting up for a baseball game, child's birthday party, or general park-like activities. Getting there is best done with navigation. Parking gets full as we found yesterday, but there are some streets on the North end of the park you can access by going back out to Lankersheim and parking by the school on that side. All told, solid place to get your active on. read more

This place was not busy at all. It is so peaceful to sit and meditate while there is no noise other than the birds chirping and the occasional car passing by. The park is well groomed and maintained. Perfect for a picnic or even to go and read a book or play guitar. read more

This is a great park. The only problem is that there are those people who think they own the park and refuse to keep their dogs on leash as is required. It would be helpful if there were a greater police presence for those who either cannot read or choose to ignore the laws. read more
