This park is awesome. It has 3 areas that can be reserved for parties. There's plenty of sand in the children's play area, along with swings, slides, bridges, etc. There is a restroom available in the children's play area. Burbank Parks & Rec maintain the grounds...Oscar, in particular. He does a fantastic job. Do I recommend The Johnny Carson Park? Absolutely. It's a great place to hang out. It's a great park for kiddos. Very pretty and big, so you can take a long walk or even a hike with kids; it has, like, a small forest-type vibe because there are trees everywhere and even has a bridge over some water, like a small river type, but not really. It's cute. We came here for an event the park held called National Night Out, where they had a bunch of vendors and booths and gave out a bunch of free stuff to the kiddos. It was fun. The only downside is we did see a coyote here. Which is pretty dangerous, obviously. We saw some joggers who encountered it, and the coyote ran away when the joggers got close, but the joggers also kind of ran away lol. In other words, it's a nice park, but I would be cautious with coyotes. read more

Went here for the Fall Festival. It was ok. It was more of a mini festival. For example, as far as food trucks went, there were only 2. One served burgers, fries, nachos, and soda, and the other served popsicles. I was relieved they even had those because at first I thought there weren't any food trucks at all. When I first went into the park, I wasn't even sure where the festival was. I just followed the people in front of me. We all followed the sound of a live band playing. Once we found the band, we could see a row of tents opposite of them. The tents were mostly for sign ups to performing arts for both children and adults, that's why I thought there wasn't any food. Then I realized the 2 food trucks were parked on the road close to the row of tents. Even the number of portable restrooms available was small, only 3, but again, better than none at all. As far as festivals go, you get what you pay for and since this one was free from parking to entrance, don't expect much. It's still something to do and a good excuse to spend some time at the park with nice weather. As for the park itself, it's clean and a way to enjoy nature in the city. There are even plaques talking about the L.A. River and a bridge to go over the water. Just know that you'll hear the constant sound of cars because of the nearby freeway. Plus, it being Burbank, you can't help but be surrounded by the entertainment industry. The park itself is named after late night host Johnny Carson, you can see the ABC skyscraper over the treetops, and when you see the mountain with the radio tower on top, you know you're looking at the backside of the Hollywood sign. read more

Cute park! They have little exercise stations, big grassy areas, benches, a play place, and even a water fountain that has a lower area perfect for dogs! Very cute. The northern component of the park was pretty empty Saturday mid morning and the lower part had some parties set up, seems like a lovely area! They have some signs and educational descriptions of the geological features and a beautiful view of the mountains. read more

This is a beautiful park that I've passed by many times, but was intentional this past week. I had a photoshoot here and it was the perfect spot. There's so many great areas to take photos and the bathrooms are clean! It was very easy for me to change clothes. With Warner Brothers Studios on one side and Disney HQ on the other, you can't go wrong with this cute park. Perfect place for a picnic date. The park's amenities are top-notch, with well-maintained playgrounds for kids, clean restrooms, and ample parking. Plus, the scenic views of the surrounding mountains provide the perfect backdrop for a leisurely afternoon. What's that noise? Just the 134 freeway bordering the park; easy to tune out! For my second Review Number 1000~ So I landed here at 'Johnny Carson Park,' Burbank, Los Angeles, CA., was for attending their 2024 Fall Festival on Saturday, September/07/2024. I found the event listing here on Yelp's Events' section, but it was Not a Yelp sponsored event. This was a local event hosted by the City of Burbank, Burbank, Los Angeles, CA. There existed quite a bit of vendors here from Gain Bank to Burbank Arts. I was able to converse with quite a bit of vendors who showed up to support the event. They were also playing 'Nightmare Before Christmas,' here too, but it was getting super hot at about 105 degrees hot here at 'Johnny Carson Park,' Burbank, CA., so I had to jet after an hour of attending the event. Service~10/10. Every vendor I talked to were extremely friendly and were excited to be a part of the Burbank Fall Festival. What's Not to love? Event was free to the general public. Parking~10/10~I got super lucky, since I arrived on time right at event starting time, 4pm, pst. I left SGV, CA., area and got here without traffic on time to park free on the streets. Food~10/10~well....During first hour of the event, some food trucks already showed, but like I said it got super hot to 105 degrees on a September/2024 weekend, so I had to jet earlier to beat the rest of the scorching heat. I supported 'Nothing Bundt Cakes,' buying a bottle of iced cold water $1 and an insulated lunch bag for $5. The bag was too cute in polka dot and sky blue style not to buy. Thank you to all vendors handing out your company's swags. I will for sure get around to visiting you all soon from the City of Burbank, Los Angeles, CA. You all made my whole week!!!!! read more

Nice quiet park in Burbank. After a nice hike around Hollywood lake we looked for a Park nearby and knowing Johnny Carson, we decided to have our lunch there. They have a nice eating area and playground for children and adults . Lots of parking. I recommend this park for a nice picnic . Will go there again if we are in this area. read more

Cute park in Burbank - after a cancelled (and then rebooked) flight, we had some extra time to kill after we checked out of our hotel. Took to Yelp and found this park nearby which gave us the opportunity to let my four year old burn some energy. Street parking only, but we didn't have any issues. Noticed right away this park was pretty bustling even on an early-ish Sunday morning. The big field area was full of men playing soccer and rugby which already made it feel like a relatively "safe" place to be knowing it was already populated. They have bathrooms here in a small brick building, and they're clean! Handwashing facilities located inside as well and all in working order. The playground was definitely suitable for my son. Lots to climb on and run around, with a couple slides as well. They have swings too, which is always his first stop! They also have small workout stations located throughout this park which I noticed a few people took advantage of. My son also liked attempting to recreate the workouts too in between playing tag at the playground. Overall, a nice park that gave us an hour or so of entertainment! read more

Nice park in Burbank. This park is pretty big and has a lot of open space. There is a small creek that ri3bs through the park too. There was a children's birthday party going on and lots of families just hanging out. The area seemed pretty safe and my daughter envoys the play structure. This park is really spacious and nice. I sometimes bring my toddler son to play here. I'd bring him more but there's just not enough shade in the kids play area. You have to come early or later in the evening when the sun isn't as harsh. I come here sometimes to take a nice walk along their pathway. It's nice and relatively safe. I've never had a negative experience here. There's plenty of parking and it's close to the 134 Freeway at Bob Hope Exit if you're traveling east from Studio City. Alameda is the closest large street to here. There's a lot of shade if you'd like to plan a picnic. They also have Core Workout stations spread throughout the park that are fairly new. Definitely would recommend. read more

Really beautiful and spacious park. Lots of room for the kids to run around, play soccer, have birthday parties. Plenty of picnic tables and very spaced out. The kids play area is nice. Walking path is very nice. Great for dog walking, exercise, strolling. Never had a problem with parking. There's parking off of Buena Vista near Providence or there's parking on Bob Hope Dr. Burbank has some really beautiful parks. Very spacious and well kept. This is a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

My dogs LOVE the hills at this park and can run around for hours. I've seen that there are also cute little dog meets here. Park is really clean, super grassy and fresh. We love it and our dogs love it and it's usually family friendly. We've seen a lot of couples with newborns and elderly couples out for a walk, quiet and clean and pretty. read more

My nice little neighborhood park. Great, small, clean place to walk/jog, have a picnic, walk the dogs or just relax. Has two small bridges that cross the LA creek. There is two separate areas with tables and shade for grilling and charcoal disposal. There is a children's play/jungle gym area and also fitness activities path. Hands down one of my favorite parks to visit. It was so clean and semi shaded! A big plus for those who like to go to parks on a hot day. They have really cool pod like swings for special needs kids or kids who cannot do regular swings. My toddler is terrified of regular swings, but cannot fit her thighs in baby swings. This gave her comfort and a sense if security. The grass was lush and had a variety of fun activities on the play structure for all ages! read more

A nice little park across the street from The Tonight Show studio. I remember the good 'ol days when I used to work in Burbank and we would go grab lunch at Martino's Bakery when it was on the corner of Alameda and Main Street and then my coworkers and I would just take our lunch to the park for a little picnic. It wasn't the same park as this one, but it is right down the street on Riverside Drive. Anyway, a bunch of Food Trucks come to The Point, at 2900 W. Alameda, every week. The Point is just east of the NBC Studios and one block west of Providence St. Joseph Hospital. Last Monday I saw that the Canter's Truck and a few others would be at The Point. There are no tables where the food trucks park, so you have to take your food to go. Also, the Canter's Truck staff say that they just take cash, but they were short on change on Monday and they do take credit cards. The main guy has one of those little devices for his phone. To see the schedule of Canter's Truck go to their facebook page. I've also seen The Lobster Truck, No Jodas Cuban Kitchen, the Grilled Cheese Truck and many others. It is a lovely little park across the side street from the studio. You could probably see celebrities in the lot parking their cars if you had a zoom lens with you, but that might be borderline stalkerish so just forget I mentioned that. There are plenty of picnic benches, nice trees for shade and it is a great place to have lunch or take your dog for a walk. Of all the parks I have reviewed this park makes it to the top of my list. The equipment ranges from young toddler to a rope and balancing bridge for older kids. The vibe is relaxed and they have a small free library which I've scored great books. Only issue is there is only street parking which on rare occasions can be packed. The Johnny Carson Park is an old time favorite that received a facelift a few years back. This park seems to have it all! Great wide open spaces, that even when crowded, it's never too loud. There are BBQ area with with designated "HOT COALS ONLY" disposal bins. There's nice walking/running trails, good exercising equipment, great size shaded (mostly) play area for kids that includes sand, 3 slides, rope climbing activities and cement path for kids scooters, bikes, etc... Right in front of this area are about 8 tables, clean bathrooms (no seat covers). The only con I feel is that this awesome park is right in the middle and under 3 large voltage structures. My favorite park probably in all of Los Angeles. It's always green and always has such a good energy. I used to bring my dog here for her birthday. We'd get food/snacks at Portos up the street and come have a birthday outing here. I'd let her run around and enjoy herself and the setting was always enjoyable for me. I just recently had my baby shower for my first child here a little over a month ago, such a beautiful day per usual. I just love it, and everyone who came never knew about this little gem and were quite impressed. Can't wait to bring my little one to this little oasis. read more

"Hereeeeeee's Johnny!" Okay, not really. Mr. Johnny Carson hasn't come back from the dead to stalk Burbank as a zombie. However, his legacy lives on and is immortalized in the little green park across the street from "The Tonight Show" studio. Johnny Carson Park is a green, tree-lined, grassy knoll open to the public but helpfully maintained by NBC's charitable affiliates. The park features walkways, picnic tables, trees, and a small playground for the kiddos. Although it isn't anything exquisite, Johnny Carson Park is quiet, peaceful, and not filled with loud, annoying people running around. Bring a dog or a book... you will certainly lap in some serene luxury. Trying to stalk a Tonight Show guest? Johnny Carson Park is directly across the street from the Tonight Show stage and the driveway which guests take to access the show. The park is within full visibility at all times of the studio, sidewalks, driveways, etc. If your recent career change is to be a paparazzo, then this is a perfect spot to begin. Parking on the street is limited to 2-hours so check your stalking watch frequently. It should be noted that Johnny Carson park is well-maintained: the picnic tables are in good shape, trash cans are not overflowing, and there isn't dog poop everywhere. This is noticeably better than other Valley parks. Johnny Carson Park is wonderful for a quick respite, lunch, dog walk, etc. Admittedly, studios and antennas may take away from the natural beauty but if in the area, the park is a nice spot to check out. Not a destination park, but great for residents. read more

This park is incredible! The city did an amazing job of keeping the park its own little entity. They have a huge wall of trees so you can't see the hospital or the highway. The only road is the one next to the park! The grass is amazing and they even have a cute little walking/workout trail. I believe it's called the "World Trail" or something. Basically you just walk the park and every 25 yards or so there are pull up bars, push up benches, etc for you to do the recommend exercise. They have a small stage and even bathroom facilities. The bathrooms aren't the greatest, but it's a park. I love the park so much because the creek that runs through it just brings so much life to the park. The scenery is stunning and you can see the mountains in many directions from within the park. I've been at this park in different seasons as well and it never disappoints. It's honestly one of my favorite places to go on the weekends! read more

This is a pretty great park. However, something keeps it from being a 5-star type of place. Recently, I have made a bigger effort to spend more time at the few remaining places in Burbank and Toluca Lake that existed while I was growing here. Part of this is due to the depressing state of constant "development" in these areas: big, beige, brown, boring places are popping up rapidly here. JC Park and some of the nearby holdouts are getting a lot of attention from me. As others have pointed out, it is a very quiet, relatively calm and somewhat isolated park, tucked away quite inconspicuously between the 134 fwy, St. Joseph's hospital and what used to house NBC studios. This is both good and bad. Good, for when you want to spend a little quiet time in a semi-nature environment or do something a little different on your lunch break. The bad side is the almost guaranteed visitation from one creep or another. Nearly every time, there is some seemingly drugged out or off their drugs weirdo walking around, asking for rides, asking to use cell phones, shirtless and shoeless and always often with hospital admission bracelets. More than once I've seen them challenging pedestrians and drivers to fight, etc. Kind of hard to relax and enjoy your surroundings with these ghouls circling around the park. That said, one of my favorite parts of this park is the frequency of which I find strange and unusual things: a six foot tall wooden man made of branches and twigs bound with ropes (twice actually, one in the creek, one in the bathroom - see pics); Several signs over the years warning park goers of a man living inside the tunnel; tiny drawings on leaves and sticks! Overall, I'm not too sure what the park needs at this point, the nearby hospital and medical centers are probably directly responsible for creep problem so it's doubtful that much can be done about that. Aside from that stuff, which no actual danger has come from (yet), I do really enjoy this place, earning it a 4/5 in my book. read more

In the middle of the city, surrounded by high rise buildings and major motion picture studios, you will find Johnny Carson Park. If this park didn't exist, we would be wishing it did. The park is so green and beautiful, and peaceful. Years ago the little creek had more water, now it's just a drizzle and kind of sad looking, but the rest of the park looks "healthy." I regularly spend hours in this park but even If I'm just near it, I will plan my route so I can at least walk through it. It's really just a lovely place to be. And to be honest, most people don't even know that it's here! I come here to read or exercise during the week and there are maybe 2 or 3 other people here. Weekends are busier, but not by much. Just around the corner on Riverside Drive is "Bob Hope Park" which is just a lawn with a few benches and trash cans. I think Bob Hope Park gets mistaken for Johnny Carson Park and that's how this little park remains a local secret. read more
