I should've know that the place was a scam when the dentist themselves bought me back and her first question before even looking at my teeth was have you ever had a deep cleaning. During the periodontal exam to measure the gum pocket depth I had almost all 1, 2, and 3s (good) and just a couple 4s (bad) in the back corners. The dentist said this was a sign of early periodontal disease and justification to refuse to do a normal cleaning (free on ins) and to do a deep cleaning (not covered) every 3 months (not 6) for over $800. Would not recommend, someone with less healthcare knowledge would be easily scammed by this dentist!

Everyone I encountered during my 1st appt was warm, helpful & positive. It was quite apparent that everyone loves their workplace. My hygienist was Samantha & she made all the difference for me. The first dentist I called after getting his price quoted $150, when I asked if he was willing to lower his price Andrea (his assistant) told me the $308 was already their "discounted" price. I will never go back to Modern Smile for even a cleaning. I did notice in the reviews that a patient lost a cap while their teeth were being cleaned, at least in that case he was fair enough to glue it back in for free.

UPDATE: As of 5/25, I am still experiencing significant sensitivity and pain…read more I paid over $50,000 for full mouth veneer treatment with this office. Within about three years, one restoration failed and required emergency care. I no longer live in Texas, so I saw another provider locally. That provider was recommended by this office and uses the same lab. During that visit, I was shown a clear image of an unsealed margin on the tooth adjacent to the failed restoration. This area is now causing significant sensitivity and requires treatment. Despite this, I was told by Dr. Young that addressing it would be a personal choice and not necessary. I was also told that issues like this could be related to whether I was keeping up with cleanings. I have consistently attended my dental cleanings before and after the restoration. I have been trying to get help since April 11, when the crown failed. I was finally told on 4/30 that a night guard would be remade and sent. I provided my address and never received a response or update. My records state that a night guard was delivered to me after treatment completion. I never received a night guard. What I was given were retainers, which I believed were night guards all along. I raised concerns shortly after placement in 2023, including asymmetry and bite issues, and provided photos at the time. I relied on the guidance that things were addressed. I am now dealing with a failed restoration, another tooth requiring treatment, and no protective night guard despite documentation stating otherwise.

They had insurance in advance and never bothered to communicate they were out of network. I would not recommend working with this company since they have deceptive buissness and billing practices.
