Talk about entrapment! If you use them, be very careful to not answer any questions the Doctor ask you as they will use this as an opportunity to hit you with a sneaky bill. It is nice they respond to the reviews in this forum, but please note this is not helpful as the phone number they give is the same one that you can't get ahold of anyone in billing and the email they give, no one responds to except to say they are unauthorized to help.

April 22, five years later, I live in Winder now and I had a heart attack and my son took me to Winder Hospital where they didn't have a heart surgeon available. I was rushed over here to Braselton to the ER for emergency surgery and then spent the last three days in ICU, recovering from an unexpected heart attack and experience. I never thought I would have to go through. The staff here has been phenomenal. From the surgery by Dr Patel to the nurses who care for me for three days I had unbelievable care, my day nurse Deborah was outstanding and having never spent time in intensive care. They made it as pleasant as could be. Having met my first major medical issue in years, I thought it necessary to give this hospital a a review from the patient's side, not from a caregiver side, which is a totally different perspective. From being loaded in the ambulance and Winder and Durban over here that only was the Winder staff on point and supportive, the ambulance, driver and support in the back was comforting, and kept me calm, to the welcoming at the ER and finding my way to awaiting surgeons standing in the hallway to perform emergency surgery, I remained comfortable, the staff, and I wish I could name them. All allowed me to get through this experience to a quick recovery that I cannot be more appreciative of. And although I haven't got the bill, which will probably put me back in the hospital. I was reminded each time they ripped hair for to put new sticky pads on that. This was a free wax job, if losing a few hairs was the worst part of the process. I think I can live with that. Thank you all for a fantastic job. Most appreciative and humbled.!!!

She kept coming into my room and severely criticizing the doctor who was in charge of me. She made all sorts of crazy claims about him, and she really wanted me to know how bad of a person AND a doctor that he was. I was shocked. I liked the doctor. He was very thorough, friendly, and professional. Yet all afternoon she would come in telling me that "he was ignoring (me)", that she "was left alone to care for me", (and much worse) etc. She also told me horrible things about the hospital, and their management. She repeated her "ranting visits" for hours. I felt like I was in that movie "Misery", stuck there...with this angry woman. Her bizarre behaviors and angry comments were very disturbing (needless to say). I was already in pain, and she added a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety to my "visit". I have called the hospital several times over the past week about what happened, but they haven't returned ONE of my calls.

Great service! My…read moremom was prescribed a mammography and a regular yearly screening just to check everything is okay. I called Gwinnett Medical Center to schedule an appointment and this location was the closer to me. Once we arrived, a lady checked us in, but since I gave the ladies my mothers info on the phone, the check in was pretty quick. We took a seat, and waited for someone to call us. After about 15 minutes a lady called us, and we proceeded to the waiting room inside. There they have lockers where she could keep her clothes, and they provided front opening gowns to make it easier for the professionals. In the same waiting room they also have a mini refreshments, and snack bar. They had cookies, chips, sodas, water, and coffee. Very nice from them. My mom is a very nervous person, usually I'm always next to her holding her hand, but this time I couldn't. The lady said its not recommendable to be exposed at radiation at my age, so she'd prefer if I stayed outside. She was very nice, understandable, gentle and willing to deal with my mom which both of us appreciated a lot since I couldn't be there for her. Overall I recommend this place. My mom said she'll be back next year, and she's not even scared anymore.

Starting with the registration process and making an appointment. When I made my appointment I made sure that my provider sent my order. Being that I work in healthcare, I understand how the process works and therefore I was prepared to confirm my order had been received. I had to have my order faxed six times before they confirm that it was received. I called several times over the course of three weeks seeking fax confirmation only to be told, they did not have the order. That would lead me to again call my provider and have them refax the order. On my last call, the woman said she didn't understand the confusion because they received the order six times. Not sure where the miscommunication was, but I was not please with the time it took to get this completed. Then, on the day before my appointment I received a message stating that I needed to call them immediately and it was "imperative" they spoke to me before my appointment. Because I was at work I missed that call, but I did receive another call to confirm my appointment. When I received the message I immediately called back thinking something was wrong with the order, yet again. The woman I spoke with told me they only needed to confirm my email address, home address, and phone number. I'm not quite sure why they couldn't have done this when they call to confirm my appointment. On the day of my appointment I showed up 15 minutes early. There was a woman being checked in standing at the front desk. So I kept my distance to give her privacy. The receptionist said to me do you have an appointment. To which I answered yes I do. She then yelled to me from where I was standing what is your name, what is your birthday, etc. as I started walking closer to the desk. I was speaking low tone hoping she would understand that I wanted her to do the same. My hope was that she would mirror me, and start speaking in a lower tone as well instead of shouting my personal information into the waiting room for all other patients to hear. Once the check in process was completed and I was taken back for the screening, things which much smoother. The woman who did my mammogram was exceptional. I have never had a bad experience during the procedure at this location. However, the check in, appointment, confirmation process was a bit of a mess. I hope they do something to improve this.

I had the unfortunate opportunity of needing emergency services here. After reading reviews and…read morespeaking with family I don't know why I still came here. Mostly because it's about 10 minutes from my house. I suffered a fall on concrete a few days before and decided to come here for some scans just to make sure there was no internal injuries. I wasn't feeling well and it was not getting better. Migraines, tension headaches, nausea, fatigue. It was a Sunday and surprisingly the very small waiting area was not too busy. There were maybe two or three others waiting. We were greeted when walking in and asked what we needed. The lady up front directed us to the gentleman seated next to her. With him we gave all our personal information. Right in the waiting room.. Pretty much anyone listening knew why I was there, my name, birthday, where I lived.. I didn't like that. There was someone physically sitting right behind me. After that I went back to the first lady who's name tag, says they were an RN, to get my vitals done and answer more questions. Again, this is done right at the front desk, right in front of the entrance of the er, right where everyone can see and hear everything. While I was getting my blood pressure taken at the front desk a nurse practioner congress by to ask how im feeling and my concerns. She was really nice and seemed genuine. After feeling on my head a little she recommended a cat scan and wrote me for some meds for my current pain and nausea. After that, I turned back to the room to wait. The wait wasn't too long. We were expecting something crazy since we've heard horror stories. A few minutes in a healthcare worker came to give me a few pills. She just told me it was for the pain and nausea and gave me water. I swallowed everything in one gulp. I wish she would've told me how I was supposed to take the medication because after my visit I received a prescription for the same medication and it says I'm NOT supposed to take the nausea medication with water. I am supposed to let it dissolve on my tongue and taking it with water will actually cause it to get WORSE. Which it did while I was there! I was actually sitting there in the waiting room wondering when the medicine going to kick in because it was getting worse. Thinking maybe it was because that was the longest I've been up since my accident.. SMH After I got called to get scanned I was sent back to the waiting room to wait for results. After the results the NP came to talk to me, again in the waiting room, surrounded by all the other patrons. Definitely a concussion but no internal bleeding or fractures. Thank goodness. Overall we spent max two hours in total here. And sitting in the waiting room the whole time expect for 5 minutes when I went to get scanned. I used to work in a medical office so I know this is borderline HIPPA violations everywhere. Not sure how they are getting away with it but with enough money anyone would turn a blind eye. Def not looking forward to the bill for the scan and being seen in the waiting room.. Next time I'll listen to mom and drive out a little further for a bill worth paying.

They were prompt and immediately saw about my mother, Miss Dennis, and made sure she was admitted and received the attention she needed. In moments like that, quick action means everything to a family. I also want to recognize the attending physician, Dr. Herschel W. Smith, who admitted my mother to the PC Unit. He was amazing. He saw the need for immediate care and made sure my mother was taken care of and placed where she needed to be. His attention and action made a real difference for our family. One nurse stood out the most -- Nurse Charlize. She truly understood her assignment. During a very stressful time while my mother was being cared for, I had many questions and a lot of emotions. Even when there were things she could not answer because she wasn't the doctor, she reassured me and helped calm my spirit. She listened, not just as a nurse but as a compassionate human being. I was even able to share some personal things that were weighing on me, and she took the time to hear me. That kind of care matters more than people realize. I have been a private nurse in the state of Georgia for 26 years and have worked with many families, including some of the wealthiest in Buckhead. I left that work to care for my own mother, and I know firsthand that true caregiving requires passion, patience, and heart. Nurse Charlize showed all of those qualities. To the doctors, I apologize if my frustration showed. I just wished I had understood more about my mother's condition sooner rather than waiting many hours for answers. But I appreciate that the team continued working toward the best care. Moments like these reveal people's character. When someone is frustrated, it takes a special person not to respond with the same energy. Nurse Charlize handled everything with professionalism and grace. Thank you, Northside, for caring not only for my mother but also for the family standing beside the patient. That compassion matters. -- Author M. Clark
