Since NE has begun to oversee our properties, I have personally viewed how absolutely terrific the crew has been with our property in Kirkland. The team is thoughtful, even taking care for details such as trimming the bushes for enhanced growth for upcoming seasons and taking into consideration a beloved dogwood tree in the front so that growth is encouraged upwards with the mini-branches trying to emerge at the bottom. I have several bushes, pots and lighting throughout the property and they are so thoughtful to be delicate or go around them. Trimming bushes and tidying up even after our unpredictable weather that can loosen up tree branches as the PNW does. Even my dog, that is normally a handful is at ease when the guys come through and comfortable with their presence which is a huge nod to their patience and nature. Thank you! I have been working with NE since I moved in my home in '21. Carlos was excellent, he came out quickly and provided a reasonable quote for my yard maintenance. When I needed assessments for bald spots and tree pruning he was also available quickly and had great reasonable rates. However I have serious issues with the services provided. Firstly there is no consistent schedule with the crews and no notice provided when they are on the way. Often I have been on work calls and have to scramble to deal with my pets; or have loud landscaping blowers running at critically inconvenient moments. To be clear I don't mind the noise, work has to happen and I asked for it - I just want to know when they are coming so I can prepare and schedule around it. More seriously - I pay for biweekly maintenance and about 3 times now the crew has come to my home, and left after about 1 minute, doing absolutely nothing. Listed on my services are pruning and general maintenance tasks - this is not what ends up happening. Usually they come by, blow all the detritus and leaves on the lawn into my neighbor's lawn and over the back wall, sometimes mow the lawn and do some edging, and they leave with no landscaping trimmed or touched up at all, even when overgrowing. Carlos is a good guy, he works really hard to remedy these issues but ultimately if I am paying for the crew to do a very basic job and they do not whatsoever attempt to do it, I'd rather just do it myself. read more

The man arrived 40 mins late for the appointment I had made weeks earlier, and complained about the long drive to my home in West Seattle, after he arrived. I explained the landscape changes that I wish to have made to my front yard (retaining wall, fencing, walking stones...) with no feedback from the man. He took some measurements, made some notes, and said he was finished. I asked him when I would receive the estimate. He said, "No later than tomorrow." I never heard from him again. read more

These guys exceeded expectations across the board. They were professional, courteous, honest in their estimate, timely and efficient from estimate to completion. We hired them to add a paved pathway between two small retaining walls, fixing an incomplete and poorly done DIY project from 10 years ago. They raised the path so that the steps were to code. I needed a large willow tree removed after a better part of the tree broke away at the base. I called Northeast Landscaping services and Carlos came out and gave me a bid that was significantly lower than other tree companies to remove the tree. The crew went above and beyond. Not only did they do a fantastic job removing the tree, but they also removed the broken root section and cleaned up the whole area! They exceeded my expectations and completed the job in one day!! I was a customer for a couple of years and their work started really strong with a total lawn renewal that was really impressive. I was thrilled! Sadly, over time, though, the overall quality of work declined drastically. This required constant effort on my part, either bringing these things to the attention of the owner (Carlos), or spending money on tools and materials and my own labor to supplement the work they weren't doing adequately. They would often ignore patches of dead grass, leave trimmings and organic material after work, ignore weeds and moss that needed removal or treatment, improperly hedge or remove plants, neglect to hedge, and leave behind clumps of grass from mowing. On one occasion when reaching out to Carlos, his response was that he had so much business he didn't care if I was unhappy and they didn't need my money. I finally terminated services when they simply stopped showing up and did not respond to numerous emails asking for some explanation as to why. I'm not sure their internal communication is very good either, because they finally showed up a week after being fired and the crew didn't seem to know (felt bad for them, that was embarrassing). To put a cherry on top, they continued to invoice me after losing my business. This eventually stopped after numerous emails pointing out how inappropriate this was, and I have yet to receive any explanation for their sudden lack of showing up for work while billing me for the same. Would not recommend or use again. read more

Scheduled for 1:30pm on a Monday. The guy showed up a full hour early, and I was leaving to run an errand. He approached me and I said my husband was coming home for the 1:30pm appointment. He said OK. I returned home and the guy hops out of his truck and said he's waiting. I said I understand but he was an hour early and my husband will be here on time. He yelled at me, "why can't I get in to look?!" I said I didn't even have the key to get into the area and it's not my problem that he was so early, especially without any warning. Had them come out for a quote and their numbers were through the roof! More than $40 per square foot charges for our patio project- almost double what their competitors were quoting us. Firstly we tend to go with smaller companies anyway but this price gauging confirmed to maintain relationships with the smaller companies. Oh and also, they hated the idea of poured concrete and pushed for pavers. So it also felt like they just sky rocketed our estimate bc I don't like pavers. If you don't want to waste your money on your expensive house projects, choose a different company. read more

I ask him why he can't give it to me now, after all that's why he's here. He replies with "I'll text you". Two days later he texts me with an estimate of $990!! We engaged them for summer cleanup, deweeding our front and back yard as well as pruning trees, hedges, mulching beds and adjusting our sprinkler system. etc. We also asked them to extend our existing patio with Pavers. Carlos arrived exactly on time for our quote and got back to us within a couple of days with his estimates. Though a little pricey, it was well worth it. The guys arrived on time and diligently worked on getting the job done. They were able to finish the job earlier than the given time estimate. The work was of high quality and done to our satisfaction. We never saw them wasting time or cutting corners. Had this company come out to see if they could help with my turf. The guy was 20 minutes late, didn't apologize and didn't introduce himself. When looking at my turf he kicked it and laughed. When I asked what was funny he asked who installed it, I replied we did to cut costs and he laughed and walked off. Kicked the turf and laughed one more time before saying he had to talk to his boss. I let him know I had written him to forewarn him that the turf was already installed and I was looking for seam repair. Never received any further communication from them. We scheduled appointments with him twice. The first Saturday he confirmed the morning of and then was a no-show. The second Saturday we again confirmed and this time was a no-call, no show. I have used various landscaping services over the years. All have been good since I usually look at past references or online reviews. Unlike others though, Carlos is a very sincere person answering all questions thoughtfully and completely. It's obvious he knows his business, having learned it over the course of 18 years. My husband and I have engaged Carlos twice now for a couple of projects, both labor intensive. Each time he has arrived to give us a quote it's been like getting together with an old friend. And for the meticulous work his crew accomplishes, the quotes Carlos gave were deserved. His men go the extra mile in assuring our yard will look better than we had imagined it would. Carlos obviously takes care of his workers for they are hardworking, respectful, and pleasant. It's nice to hear them laughing and chatting with one another as they work. They seem to enjoy what they do for their work is of the highest level. They are meticulous in making sure the job looks professional. NE Landscaping did a great job for the initial yard clean up, but the quality of service did not continue over to the regular, bi-weekly service. I had to ask several times for them to clean up leaves and weed the beds before it got attention. When we reduced the scope of their work (by adding turf and removing a lot of trees), they refused to lower the weekly rate despite the decreased scope. They also came in almost double on any quote they gave us for cutting large trees, building a retaining wall, building a fence, planting a garden and managing water drainage. In the end, we decided to terminate our relationship with them and will be looking for new landscapers. read more

I have used Northeast Landscaping Services for years. They have done a fantastic job replacing my fences, building a stairway from the front of the house to the back yard. They have done my bi-weekly yard maintenance for 5 years, all with great satisfaction. This past two week, I had Northeast Landscaping renovate my entire front yard. They finished the project yesterday. Replaced an old crumbly concrete patio, installed a second stairway to the back yard, installed all new landscape plantings and mulching, did lawn renovation, installed irrigation and lighting.
