Got my car towed from our house (well in Taconic and another company brought it home) my insurance…read moresaid that Chris Automotive is affiliated with them. Called them after few minutes their tow truck came and took our car. Happened afternoon so they are almost closing. Next day, Billy called and said whats the problem with our car. It was transmission and a whooping $$$$! The level of communication that the people from Chris was impeccable, they call almost daily to give updates. Fast forward, parts was delayed and we received our car a few days before it turned a month. (Can you imagine how much we paid for rental?!) Anyway, they gave us a very good discount. I can't even put words how everything went. So you imagine the crazy stress we had experienced?! Thankfully Chris Automotive was very reasonable with their prices, staffs were great and our car is back! Will definitely recommend this place!

I initially thought Chris's Automotive was a decent choice but I became aware that the work the…read moreshop indicated they completed was fabricated. Without going into specifics, I'll offer my review and recommendations. One of my vehicles had a fairly difficult issue to solve. I was completely aware that it would probably require a little trial and error to resolve. After being at Chris's for one week they returned my car and stated they replaced several expensive parts but the issue still existed. Great, thanks, I'll give someone else a chance. I scheduled an appointment at another location in hopes they'd have better luck. To my disappointment I learned that the work Chris's charged me for was never done. The mechanic from the 2nd location showed me the original parts and the abysmal workmanship that was performed. I was charged a whole lot of money for work that never occurred. Due to being a professional at his craft, the other mechanic was able to diagnose the problem and fix it to my satisfaction. I understand trying to diagnose a difficult problem but don't tell me you've exhausted all options when it was evident they were not.

These people are crooks! My son went there for an inspection. Simple, right? They attempted to…read morebill him $504.00. They claimed he needed a new battery and a brake fluid flush in order to pass the inspection. Huh?? Well, the battery was nearly new, so we certainly did not need a new battery, but my son is new at this and didn't get a hold of me in time, so before I was able to chime in, they put in a new battery for about $225. But get this---they charged him an additional $80.00 for labor to install the battery that they sold him!!! I have been around the block six or seven times, and I have NEVER heard of this. Outright rip-off. I told him to tell them to take out the battery and forget the whole thing. As you may have guessed, yep, they told him it would be another $80.00 in labor to remove it. Are you F*&^ing kidding me??? As for the brake fluid, well, we had just had that done, too, along with new pads and rotors. So . . . we were able to get our car out of there before they go to that. Bottom line: our mandatory $20 inspection sticker cost us $350. Nice. Bastards. NEVER USE THIS PLACE. IT'S A CLIP JOINT. I have written letters to the BBB, The New York State Consumer Protection Bureau, and the Bureau of Consumer and Facility Services and the Department of Motor Vehicles. I have also filed a dispute with my credit card company. I see that Mavis responded. So, here's my response to them: Let's see . . . you ruined a day with, and for, my son. You taught him that auto repair shops are not to be trusted nor respected. You took complete advantage of him, because you knew the car was not his, and he's only 18, so an easy mark, right? And, we're now out of pocket $230 for a battery we didn't need and $80 for labor that shouldn't have been charged. Not to mention that at $110 an hour you charged me for 45 minutes for a job that took ten minutes. Nice. You should be ashamed of yourselves. So, you ask what you can do to fix this? Write a letter of apology to my son, and refund the amount charged for labor. Then, issue an RMA and we will return the battery. That's what you can do to help. And, if you do all of that, I will edit my review so that it reflects your good business sense.

NOT HONEST, Car Inspection - I went to my car dealership a month and half before the appointment I…read morehad at Brewster Service Station. I had 3 tire sensors that needed new batteries. The dealership, which always gives a good once over inspection at every visit, unsolicitedly said my tires, that were purchased in 2022, were good (not fair or bad as those were the choices). When I brought the car in for the NYS Inspection at Brewster Service Station the owner said I needed 4 new tires and 2 new breaks. I told him I was just at the dealership and they said everything was fine. He told me because it was Connecticut that they don't know or understand the New York inspection process. He peeled the inspection sticker off the car and would not approve the inspection. I left because something didn't feel right. I rarely use the car and only had 150 miles added on the car between the appointment at the dealership and the appointment with Brewster Service Station (1 1/2 months). Thankfully the dealership has 2 branches and I decided to visit the same dealership's New York branch where they do inspections. I had them do the NYS Inspection over again. I mentioned the tires to the customer rep but not the breaks, as he could clearly see the inspection sticker was gone. They approved my NYS Inspection and said the tires should not have failed my inspection. I then asked about my breaks. Again, I did not mention to the dealership what the Brewster Service Station said about the breaks and I expected them to be consistent. The service rep at the dealership said my car has break sensors and the breaks are fine. I almost spent $1600 plus when I didn't need too. I've heard from others that this station has done this and it is clear from the reviews on Google he does this often. He knows he has you between a rock and a hard place especially when he eagerly scrapes the inspection sticker off. He is a dishonest person. DO NOT USE THIS STATION.

After a couple of weeks--including the New Year holiday--of them "helping" us on warranty claim that likely includes a major engine repair, they hit us with $1k of storage fees and the clock would juscontinue to click. Justification--"the insurance company will pay." Storage fees are for customers who abandon vehicles not for shops to run up bills. Piggish behavior. God only knows what charges they'd layer onto an actual major repair. We have since towed car to a reputable dealer who will take over from here
