Horrible, rude, slow. They tell me if I use vision ins the cost is different than out of pocket cost, no mention of FSAs. I pay for it out of pocket but then I cancelled it same day specifially telling them i actually want to use an FSA to pay for it, they agree, then 2 weeks later they say if I use an FSA they are going to charge double. I point out they didn't tell me that when I cancelled orginally. They say they're going to refund out of pocket and then they hang up. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I was a first time patient wanting contacts. They did not order my contacts for three weeks and then would not give them to me when they texted me to pick them up. They lost my paperwork and "did not know" anything about my file. Staff proceeded to raise their voice at me and become defensive. Shameful business practices. First time ever buying glasses. They took advantage of this fact by shamefully upselling me. They convinced me to buy 2 pairs rather than one at first. They convinced me to get progressives (another $250 each pair) when I did not need them, and lastly their unprofessional and dismissive attitude for customer service. I picked up the 2 pairs initially in early may. Upon trying them on I felt inebriated and under water in a pool. They told me to give it 2 weeks and return them if they do not work. Two weeks later and I still can't see with the glasses on to the point that I was dizzy and nauseas wearing them. They sent them back to remove the progressive piece. I picked them up today and still blurry and nauseas while wearing them. Im told to "give it more time". I thought glasses made vision better not worse. I asked about a partial refund of the product I did not receive and was told no as its in their disclosures (where?). After my insurance paid and I paid out of pocket $800 for product/service I did not receive I was more or less dismissed and more or less was told as a paying customer sucks to be you. I see better without these glasses and will never wear them. $800 out of pocket and insurance lost to this con business. I will never spend another dime in this shameful business. me and my wife came in to get glasses for our family. we had the worst experience we have ever had while trying to pick through there unorganized selection and as we where trying to decide the register lady was extremely rude and not helpful at all. it seems if you don't like your job find another one. a person in that situation should be more helpful and polite knowing well that we are customers. over all I do not recommend this location. read more

The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. They answered all of my questions with the upmost professionalism. The two gentleman within this establishment are very good at what they do. First off.. Dr. Clanton was amazing. Very efficient and knowledgeable. Super nice and knows exactly what he's doing. The office is very homey and I felt super comfortable like I was at family member house. Second off.. Emmett downing the general manager was super patient and efficient. He did not pressure me to choose a lens let me take my time and was very nice. Overall the receptionist and the whole office were super friendly and made me feel at home! BAD SERVICE. The Dr was nice but the staff is terrible. They don't want to be bothered with questions. I asked about the type of lenses in the glasses and the girl seemed frustrated, like she gets the question a lot and didn't want to answer it again. Then I went to get my glasses and they were trying to rush me out the door. Finally this last time I tried to set up an appointment for contacts and the lady on the phone was trying to rush me off so she could go to lunch. Next time don't answer the phone until you are back from your lunch. There are plenty of places to get glasses and this is not one of them. read more

Staff was friendly until I brought up an error THEY made to their attention. So I'll start with the visit. Exam was fine. My only issue was the doctor wiped the equipment with a tissue. I'm used to doctors wiping their equipment with alcohol wipes (but that just may be me). So that grossed me out. I mean people put their face on that equipment. Next my insurance card clearly says $25 copay. They made up a story about why it's not $25 and charged my $75. I spoke to my insurance and they said it should be $25. I'm still going back and forth with them trying to get my $50 back (they only want to return $40). Long story short- I would NOT recommend this place and if you must go there- make sure you are aware of your co pay and what your insurance covers. read more

Dr. Chung is so personable, and was very familiar with other patients in the waiting room, even going so far as to compliment the change in one patient's hair. So it's definitely not your usual barely-knows-who-you-are kind of optometrist visit. She seemed very happy to take a little time with me to discuss the various ways to correct my vision, and even took into account my active hobbies but computer desk work life to make sure we were correcting my vision in the best way possible for me. Really nice staff who patiently investigated my confusing insurance issues. I will go to Northern Ave Eyecare for as long as I'm in Phoenix! read more

No complaints here. The glasses are perfect. I got Trivex lenses with digital progressive. They are very comfortable, my eyes just relax looking through these lenses. I had to return glasses from another place because I could feel eyestrain. They had a good selection of lenses with a good range of prices. They were also very quick. They had the glasses adjusted right away and I was out the door. I did not have my eye exam there so can't comment about that. read more

I have been going to Northern Avenue Eye Care for 4 years now. The amazing staff has not changed in the four years, and I love it! Joy, the receptionist is so warm and inviting. She has greeted every patient with their name every time I've been in, and I love that we can talk about my dance career since her daughter in law is also a dancer. Janelle is incredible with fittings and is also very friendly. Dr. Chung is an adorable woman and makes you feel instantly at ease. I only wish the office was in a better location, but it's close to home! read more

Dr. Chung was amazing. She was very knowledgable, friendly, and had our best interests in mind. She even advised me of a slight astigmatism that had never been mentioned by any of my prior doctors. She addressed all of our concerns and when my husband mentioned that he was planning on getting Lasik, she made sure to curtail all of her suggestions with that in mind. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. The doctor I ended up with was HORRIBLE - rude, curt. I had insurance so was supposed to have a $10 copay but they charged me $107.00 and refused certain types of payment, so I had to drive to my bank clear across town and get a cashier's check and then come back, so basically had to take the afternoon off work. Then, they didn't even give me my Rx - said I'd need ANOTHER appointment. They charged me like I had no insurance, then charged my insurance too I later found out. Since they never gave me an Rx, I then had to pay out of pocket to go to a regular doctor and get an Rx and now couldn't use my vision coverage because they fraudulently got money from us both. Very very dishonest. Very rude. Unprofessional. Not recommended. read more

The eye exam was great!! Everyone was very nice, helpful and informative. They work with prices, and give you deals! The only downside I would say is the prices are a bit expensive but you get exactly what you pay for! I love my new glasses and my contacts! They give you trials to make sure you actually like the product before buying it as well!! read more

Dr Chung is amazing. Very personable and familiar with all her patients. She understands those with exceptionally low vision and works very hard to ensure they are provided proper glassware. Folks with severe vision issues cannot go to a box store for their glasses, they must be properly examined and the lenses are not cookie cutter that you get in the 1 hr shops. There has been some recent turn over in staffing and along with that a learning curve. Dr Chung immediately addressed any of my concerns with her staff to ensure her standards of care were met. Have been a client of Dr Chung's for 17 years and have always found her receptive, attentive and responsive to my vision needs and concerns. read more

My experience there at Northern Avenue Eye Care was a phenomenal one. For one, I am not fond of visiting an Optometrists due to the examination alone. However, Dr. Chung was gentle and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions related to my vision, which comforted my anxiety. In addition, the entire staff exhibited a kind and warm atmosphere. Especially, Letty she was a gem!!! She was also extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Letty, makes me want to purchase eye glasses every 3 monthsjust to be in her warm presence!!! Completely unprofessional and dishonest with their "projected" order time. They indicated 4-7 days and it has been nearly 2 weeks; called repeatedly after projected timeframe and receptionist wasn't very helpful.
