A small amount of scrap wood under our home showed evidence of termites. Instead of recommending trenching with large amounts of pesticide, Kurt recommended removal of the wood, spot treatment and Trelona bait traps. This company may sound like they know what they're doing, but they really don't. Their solution for dealing with roof rats was to completely ignore the roof area. When we switched to a pest control company that was actually competent, the first thing they said is "Whoa, you have so many ants around your house, we need to spray for those." I said that it had just been sprayed by another pest control company (this one) and they couldn't believe it. And then they actually sprayed the perimeter in a competent way. I have been with Northern Nevada Pest control for several years but last year the quality of service dropped drastically. This year communications have been terrible and the service even worse. I use northern Nevada Pest control for weed control, ants, aphids etc. They come out automatically and perform their services and just send us a bill that I pay immediately. This year we keep getting weeds and they won't come correct the problem they tell me it will be in a month that never comes. We have been since MAY with this weed problem that has only gotten worse because they don't take care of the customer that has taken care of them. We were having an ant problem again and Allie was gracious enough to come out and treat for ants (which we still have). Allie told me herself she would be out last week for the weeds but that has come and gone I guess won't come at all. Sorry Kurt how much of this crap should we take before we leave. I'd give Kurt and his team at Northern Nevada Pest Control 6 stars if I could. These guys are great. Period. Full stop. We had a subterranean termite swarm which initially freaked me out. And a number of other pest shops that came by to assess just fanned the flames and proposed large and expensive remediation plans. Sadly I learned that a lot of folks in the pest business use fear as a marketing tactic to charge more and do a lot of unnecessary work. Then Kurt came in, assessed the situation, and talked me back off the ledge. He determined exactly where termite ground zero was and proposed a targeted plan of attack. Kurt is the holy grail of faster, better, and cheaper. Other folks were recommending non-targeted plans that were going to be less effective, destroy much of our hardscape and landscape, and be 5 - 10X more expensive. Kurt is a really good guy who is an expert in his field. Further, he doesn't just like to get his hands dirty, he loves to. On the day of the treatment Kurt arrived with a younger colleague who was spraying the perimeter of the house while Kurt was crawling around our crawl space in a mask, headlamp and overalls. I joked with Kurt's assistant and asked why the boss was in the crawl space while his associate was enjoying the fine Tahoe fresh air. He informed me that Kurt just loves what he does and especially the assessment and diagnosis part - which involves going subterranean, where the termite are. After multiple calls and messages regarding the ring that "went missing" while their employee was inside our house alone and the incident is now being investigated as Grand Larceny, I still have not been contacted by the company. My fiance received a single TEXT MESSAGE from the General Manager. I hope for their sake as a family owned company who has done well they terminate the employee. In February of 2023 I had my apple tree sprayed for worms and other invaders. Tech advised a second treatment was not necessary due to the excellent quality of treatment used when in fact, his former tech (years past) advised to do a second treatment after flowers fell off. New tech said he guaranteed I would not see any worms. My yearly harvest yielded about 300-400 lbs of edible apples in the past. Fast forward to this years harvest ZERO edible apples. Every apple on my tree was infested with worms leaving me with over 300lbs of worm infested apples. This is my last call to this company. I do NOT recommend this company. When I scheduled a pre and post-emergent spray at the end of February, I was told that active weeds would die off. After waiting two and a half weeks, about 30% of the active weeds started to die, everything else that was active just kept growing. We ended up spending 4+ hours pulling all of now very large active weeds. I took pictures of our active weed growth and emailed them to the company with no response (the person I emailed was on vacation). I spoke to a woman in the office who suggested I communicate with her supervisor. The supervisor basically told me I needed to wait for the person on vacation to contact me upon his return. He did, but offered no assistance on the company's part to rectify the situation. I wasn't expecting a full refund (the service was $275), but felt either a credit or partial refund was in order. Had an emergency bug issue. This was the first business I looked up that was opened on a Saturday. Was so stoked to find out that they were open so I waited patiently till they opened their doors at 7am. Finally 7 am came called and it went to voicemail. Ok maybe they were overwhelmed with calls so I left them a message. It stated that they will get back to you the same day so I waited a while, but still sitting there squirming because these clusters of tiny bugs were spreading along my ceiling and I was freaking out. Called them again and still no answer so I went ahead and called another company to come out. They came out super fast and I was so relieved because we were moving my daughter down stairs and found a dead baby scorpion. I used these guys twice at our new home. I found them to be the most reasonable in regards to price. They are honest, they don't try to oversell any type of plan and be sneaky like some of these pest control companies. We have a 4000 sq foot house btw. The 2nd time I called them was a general spray and the dreaded ants which most of us experience in the summer here in Reno. Well come to find out after the spray happened, we have a wasp problem. However, it wasn't the technician's fault we didn't notice it, and the wasps don't come out until closer to 10-10:30 when it gets hot and the roof gets hot. Our technician Trent was very on time, we are talking exactly 8:30am. He was very professional, and explained the treatment procedure he used for the wasps and the thought process behind treating them which I really found helpful. This company came out to our home to deal with a minor bedbug infestation which they found in only one bedroom.They have a 100% guarantee or your money back. They said that they would get rid of the bugs and charged us $900 for that service. They gave us specific directions to follow prior to they're coming out and spraying. We followed those directions exactly as given. We continued to see bedbugs. They continued to come out and to spray, using at least two or three different types of chemicals during this process. We did not enter or allow anyone entry into our home who had infestations in their homes. After four months with no resolution to the problem we turned to another company. This company came out, sprayed once and we have not seen another bedbug, live or dead since. We wrote a letter to Northern Nevada Pest Control requesting our money back. We received no response to our letter. I called them twice but received no response to my calls. I then called my credit card company to dispute the charge. The credit card company reversed the charge but gave Northern Nevada Pest Control three months to respond. In the last week of this process they responded. Their statements contained fabrications: i.e. we had not followed their instructions for preparing the house; we allowed for cross contamination -- coming or going from contaminated homes, etc. I would never use Northern Nevada Pest Control, Inc. again nor would I recommend that anyone else do so. Their warranty is baseless; they don't honor it. They use fabrications to cover their inadequate work or product. And worst of all, the chemicals they used caused a my spouse to develop a severe skin rash which she has still not recovered from. read more

Used NNPC for: Bedbugs My grandmother's two story house was heavily infested with bed bugs. We've used NNPC on other houses, and the quote they gave me for the two story was awesome. Curt, the owner, is very professional and made me feel comfortable with the whole process. NNPC came over to the house three times; however, after the first, the majority of problem had ended. *The exterminator that was sent out the 2nd time, wasn't only in and out of the house in 5 minutes, but he also started spraying while my 3 month old was still in the living room (we were on our way out).
