Service department is a disaster. No follow up. No timelines and not very customer friendly

Overcharged and terrible service. They did not fix the appliance at all.would never have them again.

Needed a little help with a Kitchenaid refrigerator issue that we had where the icemaker would not stop making ice. I thought the wire lever that controls the ice making was in the up position which would stop it from making ice. Doug, in service, showed me a new ice maker like the one we have and how the wire lever snaps into the small "hidden" hole. I went home and using a mirror was able to find this hole and secure the lever. Thanks, Doug! Appreciate the time and info to a novice like me. RB read more

We came in to purchase a new refrigerator, explained our issue with our current refrigerator, and Kathy believed we still had coverage under a warranty when the purchase was made in 2018. We were told by KitchenAid themselves that our warranty expired but Kathy looked at the warranty when the fridge was purchased and it does not expire until 2028. Her due diligence saved us from buying a new fridge. We appreciate her and Doug for doing the right thing instead of making an easy sale. Thank you both. We purchased a washer and dryer set. Two days after receiving it, we realized that the door to the washer didn't close well. When we contacted them, they said they would send someone out in THREE weeks, this is their first available time slot to repair the BRAND NEW WASHER DOOR. I feel this is unacceptable! We specifically purchased through Northgate because they service what they sell. However, you will not get service quickly. read more

Northgate Appliance is the only appliance shop that I will shop at! The staff are super friendly, and the delivery crew... wow. They rock. They really go above and beyond for their customers. They are courteous of homes and really want your experience to be a good one. They also have a great repair policy. They service everything they sell. Give them a call with any questions and you are directed to the right person with an answer. Highly recommend shopping here for any appliance needs. read more

Northgate is the authorized repair dealer or Fisher Paykel & DCS. Unfortunately, if you did not purchase that specific appliance from them, they won't repair as I was told this morning - they are "too busy". Having purchased other appliances from them does no good. Therefore, I suggest you search elsewhere for appliances. read more

We stopped her by chance while on vacation. Even though we were clearly just looking the salesman (Kevin) spent quite a bit of time with us and gave us some very good advice. The selection is very good and I thought you could find something for any budget. It was nice to see some of the high end brands (Viking, etc.) to compare them in person. Very helpful and knowlegeable, no pressure - it doesn't get better than this. read more

Great products. Great folks. Perhaps best of all, were the two, young people, Levi and Cory, who delivered our washer and who willingly--without complaint--lifted up our dryer off the floor to a point above the sink to create room for the installation of our new Speed Queen. Levi, an absolute gentlemen, is following in the footsteps of his grandfather (who owns the store), and upbeat Cory is so humorous and good natured that he could be a standup comedian. We just purchased a new washer. Brandon was excellent to work with and very knowledgeable. He even was able to get our delivery moved up a few days. We have bought all of our appliances at Northgate for years. We were extremely pleased again. read more

Brandon is the best! He made the entire experience of Finding a used appliance on a deadline not stressful. He sped up the entire process so that the stove could be checked off and then delivered on time. I am thrilled with Northgate appliance and especially his customer service. We bought a washer dryer set and a dishwasher from Northgate in the past 4 months for our Holland residence.The washer quit, filled with clothes and the lid is locked. We called for service and the earliest they can come is 10 days away. They did give us the number to another appliance repair service but informed us that we would have to pay them even though the washer is under warranty.How can you sell high end appliances and have such poor service?? If we had known what lousy service they had we would not have supported a local independent business. How sad read more

I recently bought a high end washer dryer set from Northgate. I've purchased four other major appliances from them in the last couple of years. I think they are nice people selling a good selection of fine products. Unfortunately at six weeks the dryer broke, so I called to get it fixed and was disappointed to learn the fastest they could send someone out was two weeks. Two weeks on a brand new appliance is a pretty big hassle when young kids means you wash and dry every day. I get this is a busy time of year but if you sell someone an expensive product and it breaks, you need to fix it quickly and apologetically. I tried to speak to them and their response was we are busy. I get it, me too, that's why I need the dryer to work! I even asked if I could trade up for another more expensive unit and the answer was an exchange is not possible, with zero flexibility. I probably wouldn't have written a negative review, but the previous year their installation vendor botched a dishwasher installation. I had to call another vendor referred by a friend and pay an extra $250 to get it fixed. If you are going to sell high end appliances and they break, you should have the staff to get them fixed in a timely fashion. read more

This place is a complete joke! While I'm sure there is some good people that work here they weren't around when my wife an I stopped in. After waiting for at least 20 minutes a person finally came over to see if we needed help. We said we would like to speak with someone regarding a front loader washer/dryer set and the person said they would find someone. Well after another 15 minutes of waiting we walked out right past the counter with 4 people at it and no one said anything. read more

I bought an extended warranty on a refrigerator. The freezer handle came loose, so I called for service. They fixed it and then sent me a bill for $50! When I called to find out why, I was told it was something I could have fixed myself. I guess if I knew how, I could have. So, before you buy their extended warranty, maybe you should take a course in appliance repair! read more

This is a sad example of a once family owned business that is changing its reputation after family members retired. They still sell appliances that were quality products many years ago, but are now listed as substandard by Consumer Reports. We re-did our kitchen, 2 years ago, and are already having problems with some of the appliances. There is one original repair man - Dave - who is excellent. We were very disappointed in the sales staff. When we were informed of our delivery time two weeks before the delivery, we were told they could not promise any changes. I told them I'd been a faithful customer for nearly 40 years, and had just sent in some friends who just purchased a new home, and needed all new appliances. The customer 'service' person told me that they try to treat all of their customers alike. In the future I'll be treating all appliance stores alike, and will will be doing my shopping at the big box stores. read more
