First, they tell you that you have to be available all day for them to come do the repair. I'm self-employed, so if I take a day off, I don't get paid at all for that day so this was incredibly frustrating. I also ended up having to be home multiple days for the repair to be done. They also did not notify me ahead of time when they were planning on coming the first time, so I just got a phone call while I was at work on Thursday telling me that they would be there in 20 minutes. I wasn't home (nor was I notified so that I could make arrangements to be home), so it had to be rescheduled. They told me that they would come out on Monday. I came home from a camping trip specifically for this repair just to be told on Monday that they did not have time to come do the repair. So I left my vacation for no reason and drove and hour to and from Muskegon for no reason. They rescheduled for Thursday and someone was coming out, but they did not have the right address on file so that was a hassle as well. Overall, the company seemed pretty disorganized and did not have great communication. I will say that the guy (Felix) who actually did the repair was great. He was friendly and understanding about my frustrations. He did the repair quickly, and cleaned parts of my stove that can't be cleaned unless it's taken apart. He did also explain that they recently changed software for their scheduling stuff, and that was part of why there were so many issues getting someone to come out to do the repair. While the situation was frustrating overall, I am hopeful that this was a one off and that they take steps to improve both communication and organization with scheduling. I do hope they gave my landlord a discount on the service though.

Maybe I dreamed that Google Maps was a thing. He came up to my door without a mask but put on the one I offered (with his nose uncovered - I should have said something but I didn't). He seemed to be breathing pretty heavily and his hands were shaking. He was not able to fix the door on his own. I had to help him. It sounds like a door falling off is not a common refrigerator problem but still. He did not have and did not think he could the screw needed to fix my door. So he told me to take a wire coat hanger to twist into the hole to hold the door in place. Luckily I had one. He twisted the wire and cut it off and told me if it needed tightening further I could do it myself. He left the bottom cover off and a pile of dirt on my kitchen floor. It never came up the 3 or 4 times I spoke with Doug on the phone, but he only takes cash or check so I had to go out to the ATM to pay the $55 service fee. I paid and tipped him $5 for coming out so quick. Like I said he came out quick and that's primarily what you need when your fridge door falls off. But I probably wouldn't call again if I didn't absolutely need to.

He came out right away to assess the dryer, and stated he had to order the part and be paid for both the part and the service call up front. $75 for each. After a week of not hearing from him, I called him, he said the part would be in shortly. Another few days I called him again, he said the part just came in and he'd be out to install it. He came out a couple days later replaced the part. We ran a load that same day and the same problem persisted. When I called him he said "it must be a different problem." He said he'd be out again to fix it, that I could just keep the part and he would send me a check for reimbursement. A week later I called him again to see when he was going to send me a check, he said he'd have to come back out to diagnose the problem and put the old part back in for reimbursement. I reminded him of what he said previously, he said he never said that. We had Sears come out who fixed the problem within 1.5 hours. It turns out he was charged with larceny ($30,000) in a real estate scam. Samsung stated in that article that they would do everything they could to assist customers who were taken advantage of by A-1 Appliance. 1 year later and Samsung has NOT done everything to help, in fact countless times telling the same story to a different person, and now today they say "I'm sorry, we can't help you." I will not buy another Samsung product.
