So, I wrote a positive review on here when i purchased my new mustang 2 months ago. Well, In the 71 days I have had ownership this is how it works out: 1 week then into the shop for a air dam replacement(PDI damage before i purchased), 3 days later in the shop for a severe vibration. In the shop for 10 days. They rotated the tires(in ten days), got the car back and was a mess(seats laid back\, head rest off, foot prints on my dash?!?!, rap music blasting on radio level 48, garbage on the floors), andd vibration still there. Took right back and had service adviser ride along, immediately felt vibration. BACK into the shop. 11 days later they rotated my driveshaft 180 degrees and said its done, picked it up and NOPE! still vibrates. Back in the shop and finally 25 days later its still not fixed and they told me "its normal for your car to vibrate". :-/ what? a brand new $40,000 car is designed to vibrate? when..3 other dealerships later(all verifying the issue) and We drove 9 other mustangs same as mine and NOT ONE had a vibration. Guess my car was designed differently. Went back to northgate and had the manager drive my car, felt the vibration. Went back to dealer to swap the car for another one.....this is where it gets very sad.....Instead of doing the right thing and taking my car with 1600 miles(1/2 those from the shop) back and getting me in a comparable, not a fancy one but same as mine. The sales manager says i have numbers for you...wait? what? she says my car has issues and they can only give me $26000 for my car i JUST bought there and I will need to purchase a new car at retail. Yes, you read that right. My car I bought WITH a vibration(said it was flatspots on the tires not to worry) now has a issue and its MY problem. No, not really. I gave them a chance(many chances) to do the right thing. Instead they took me for a fool and said "I wanted to trade into something else"....Now It will be up to a lawyer, arbitrator and many great weeks of trying to get this resolved in my future. In the meanwhile I have reserved a booth at SEMA in vegas, I will be right next to the FORD booth as I have been the past 8 years and this time will be a surprise for everyone walking by. I purchase 2-3 new cars a year, never have I EVER had an experience like this. My 16' jeep does not vibrate, my old truck does not vibrate, matter of fact none of these: 2015 ram diesel, 2017 Jeep cherokee, 2016 jeep rubicon, 2016 toyota tacoma, 2014 camaro ss, 2012 f350, both my 2013 and 2014 raptors vibrated,,,NONE...All bought by me!. Have you driven a ford lately? I have and its NOT great. One thing is certain, a bad product is 20% of the issue, customer service is 80%....10 customers with good service may tell one person, 1 person with crappy service will tell 100's. If you like to look at a truck test drive and then the sales person say well we don't have time. OK so I called in the morning well no one would take my call and by the afternoon my truck was sold. They said the person in the store comes before the person on the phone well I was in the store. I'm planning on paying cash for 2 cars. Big mistake, huge! read more

My radiator was left unbolted the first time. The second time my transmission was left unbolted. I've taken my car in 3 times in a couple of months for transmission recalls. I had to pay for parts and was given a poorly secured vehicle back twice despite the fact that I did nothing to the car. It was poorly constructed to begin with. My transmission fell down while driving during rush hour to cause an accident or fatality after the second visit I had with Northgate Ford. My sister was also with me in the car. I was given a small credit $150 for all of the trouble. But was still charged with extra fees when I was talked into getting tires and an alignment to spend the credit. The issue is the work was poorly done twice already so it's hard to trust it now. I did purchase the tires and alignment because my dad told the manager to go ahead with it without really consulting me first. I don't think the credit was sufficient for all the work I missed not having a car. The trouble I had trying to get the rental. The fact that they tried to charge me for the rental because they couldn't fix it immediately and had my car over a week both times. That's not by fault however. I shouldn't be left without a car, but I was for a multiple days and I had to pay to to Uber despite the fact that I pay a car note to have a car. The place is very disorganized and the right doesn't talk to the left. I won't ever go back. I only went back the two extra times because they did the faulty work and I refuse to pay someone to fix their own mistakes. The bottom line is this service department is all about getting cars in and out, making the most money and not being concerned with the quality of the work. They tried to nickel and dime everything despite the fact that it's a Ford recall. Attempting to charge someone $300 for a rental while they had your car that the company themselves admitted had issues unrelated to customer fault is insane. The customer service and customer satisfaction was prob the worst I've ever experienced. I listened to the service manager say no one did anything wrong and that everything is completely fine to an employee that I had told my transmission tried to fall out of my engine while driving. He didn't realize I was sitting right there when he said it. I can't begin to understand how that could ever be okay and how no one did anything wrong there. read more

So I don't like posting bad reviews and actually contemplated for a while whether I should post it. So here's how it goes. I was informed of a bent rim that needed to get fixed. Not a problem I'll take it to ford because I PAID for a warranty. I called ahead they said they could look at in in the morning if I take it in. Around 1 hour before closing time I called and asked what was going on and they had not looked at the car yet. Now keep in mind I brought right when they opened only 2 cars where ahead of me. But somehow they where about to check it in an hour and said there was no damage. So I took it to discount tire to get a second opinion. They not only found the bend knowing they weren't going to make any money of the check, they marked it so it could be identified. So I took it back in the next day. Stays all day again. They said there was no air leaking in it so they couldn't do anything. Now I had check previously and I was loosing air. So this time my dad comes in with me. Suddenly there was a small leak in the tire but it wasn't enough to do anything. Wait you inspected the car while it was at my house after you checked it and told me it was table leaking? So my dad asked if he could talk to the warranty personnel to understand this. They call up ford tire care and they say that the owner is questioning them. 1 I would not have thought to call the company myself and 2 I OWN THE CAR NOT MY DAD. So my dad corrected her on questioning her. The manager comes out to see what the problem is. So we are talking to him. The entire time my dad is called sir or Mr___ I was called Brandon. This was until the manager had the audacity to call me kid. You can call me many things but I had 5 years in the military and I'm still in. I bought the car and I make the trip payments do not call me a kid. I will never take my car to this place ever again and it I would encourage you not to as well. However if your in Michigan and you want a car take the drive to a royal oak ford. Dennis the salesman that worked with me in buying my car didn't just go for the expensive sale he actually went out of his way and tried to find something that would be better gas and cheaper for me in car price and insurance. I still have his number and he helps me when I have questions and will always go back to him specifically. read more

I am in the market for a loaded 2018 Mustang GT. On their website, I saw one I was interested in. My wife and I stopped over Saturday at 4:00PM to look at it. No one came out to see if they could help us. So we went into the showroom. Again, no one even acknowledged we were there. After about 20 minutes of walking around showroom, still no one said one word to us. At this point, I had enough and I felt insulted and said to my wife "Lets leave". Only then did an employee hold the door open for us and said "Goodbye". I guess they didn't want my business. I will never go back! read more

Great experience in the Service lane. Went in to have a couple of problems diagnosed, electrical and brake related. Brad Jenkins, my service advisor, was seemingly the only one there that day at the Service desk. He took the time to explain the needed repairs, take care of the paperwork, and get me to the rental desk. The repairs were prompt and I haven't had a problem since. Bonus points to Norm who got some extra steps in when I came to pick up my ride! read more

Whenever I am looking for a Ford, I check with the guys at Northgate. The salesman I worked with has since retired, and I don't think the sales staff is as good without him. That being said, I have driven down from the west side of Michigan twice now to buy a car from them, and they arranged a sale for my friend in Kentucky. We have been pleased - but when I saw a Shelby - GT R for sale for roughly 30k over sticker - I probably will find a group closer to home from now on. read more

The customer service has changed over the past few years. It's rare to talk to an actual person or to have someone call you back. They don't respond to feedback when they request it after service. Scheduling a service appointment is fine if you don't need the service for 3-4 weeks out, but when you arrive for your appointment, they don't keep your appointment. I scheduled an oil change and couldn't get one for 3 weeks. When I went in for the appointment, I was told they were "running 1.5 hours behind" and they wanted me to look at all other people who also had scheduled appointments that they had waiting. They had nothing to say in the way of "we are sorry" or anything like that. The woman just stared at me when I expressed annoyance with the situation. I didn't have an hour and 1/2 to wait for my scheduled appointment to start so I left. All she said was "she's leaving" to another person working at a desk there. I spoke to a nice man who had been getting my car ready to wait and he said it's the habit now to over-schedule service appointments and everyone many customers are expressing their unhappiness about this. The service has gone down hill at this business. I would never buy another car from them or get service here again. Too bad. read more

My fiance has been car shopping for a truck for several months. He went in today, not only did the Manager only offer $1,500 for his 08 Nissan Armada Valued at nearly $8,000 because they said it needs new tires (Um...7k in tires?) They refused to allow him to test drive it because they said he'd been to the lot too many times in the last month. He was NEVER there this month, he's called around, he's asked a lot of questions from numerous dealers as we shop for the best deals, but he hadn't even been on site. I was extremely offended by his implication that if a customer comes to the lot a number of times this manager deems "too many", they can't test drive a vehicle? Extremely unprofessional and simply unnecessary treatment of customers. Will NEVER take my 800 credit score there to do business. Edited to add-- we bought a 2018 Ford F150 from Beechmont Ford. I am beyond frustrated with the Ford Motor Company and specifically Northgate Ford. My husband and I bought an Expedition in May. THREE WEEKS after we bought the car, the on screen navigation stopped working. It was of course under warranty, so we took it back to the dealership. Instead of replacing the entire system, they are attempting to fix it piece by piece.... And each piece has to be ordered, which takes over a week. I just paid a $600 car payment on a car I have not SEEN in a month!! And when Matt issued a complaint, they tried to give us a tiny rental car which would not have fit our double stroller or our carseats. My calls have gone unanswered and my car is still being held hostage.... I was looking on Autotrader for a car because there was not a very big selection of the car I was looking for in my area. I had found 3 cars that were at 3 different lots, in 3 different directions. It was not feasible for me to drive to each lot to test drive a car that I had driven several times already. All 3 cars were very comparable as far as features and were also very close to the same asking price. There was just a couple hundred dollars between all three. I had emailed each dealership asking for their best price. The dealership in Lexington got back to me immediately with their price. Northgate Ford emailed me several times with questions about what I wanted and about coming in to get the best price. They could not understand why I wasn't coming in. After I explained what I was wanting, and that there were 2 other cars I was looking at. Thats when they wanted me to give them the names of the other dealerships or the vin numbers off the other cars. I was told they wanted to make sure we were comparing "apples to apples" I figure I could take this one of two ways. either I wasn't smart enough to know whether I was comparing a $30,000 car to a $20,000 car. Or that I was trying to "trick" them into pricing their car lower by lying about the features or price I was given for the car in Lexington. Which I would have never given them the price of the other car if not ask. All I wanted and all I ask for was the very best price they could give me on the car they had. They knew how much they paid for it and knew what was to low. I say if you don't want to deal with people over the phone or online, don't put cars on your website. I was 3 hrs away and saw no need to make that drive if they could not sell they car at a price I could afford. I would not buy a car from them if they were $2000 lower than the other two cars! Well maybe if they were $2000 less. But $1999!!! read more

I was looking for a specific make and model of a jeep and the closest location that had it, was Northgate Ford. I was so fortunate to stumble upon Chris Redmond when I walked in. Not only was he not your typical "pushy car salesman," he was also very informative and willing to help. By the end of my experience at Northgate Ford, my mother (who was with me), also wanted to buy a car from Chris.... Not because she wanted a Ford or anything they had in stock... but because she thought he was so great too! read more

Recently took my 22 year old daughter to trade in and buy a new car. From the time we walked in the door to driving off the lot was less than 3 hours with the exact car she wanted. My 19 year old son had the same experience while trading in his car in October, 2015 for a 2013 Mustang. We were in and out, including 2 test drives for 2 different cars, in under 3 hours. Both cars have ran perfectly and had zero issues with anything. The Finance Manager actually called my daughter about a week after her purchase and said she caught an error with the amount of the extended warranty she purchased and it would further reduce her monthly payment an additional $30.00. I personally thought that is a lot of money to save each month and we would have never know differently. I've never had that happen before and one more reason I HIGHLY recommend this dealership to anyone who has had it with the typical used car salesman experience. They truly have won me over for life! read more
